Some comments I would like to make from also doing something similar. Its good to turn off the bottom sensor of the drone because at times it can be blocked with this mount. Some others suggest turning all of them off but I personally keep top, front and sides on my Mavic 2 Pro. Also turning off bottom helps with hand catching. I went the Adobe way and while not the best for certain things 3d logos etc (requires elements 3d plugin) and as Hugh mentioned Mocha Pro which isn't cheap for stabilization. I did find that using AE content aware fill on my 360 footage did a great job (it did take a LONG time to process and I had to break some longer clips up into chunks because it would seem to hang, fail or just sit their and do nothing). Using tap to fly is a great solution and I'm glad tripod mode was brought up. While in tripod mode you can also further adjust the speed. I have also tested Litchi and set up a way point mission at a slow speed. Please avoid any sort of sharp turns, and stick really with up, down, forward and back. Hugh Hou example of sky removal in AP or PS works well if you have no sky, but having no sky is boring so it gets pretty tricky to use this when you have more sky involved (hence any sort of roto brushing out the drone or using AE content aware fill as stated above). The mount comes with an extension arm so your camera hangs lower thus making it easier to remove the drone since its not as close to the camera. Export to ProRes is the best but watch out because you need a lot of space for this (mainly talking to people new to this). I used my One R as a firs test flight over Lake Tahoe (scary over water :)) and learned a lot from his earlier tutorials on drone removal, and adding 3d logos. Another thing to watch out, you can at times get a warning that says "max motor speed reached" be careful with this and dont panic but either slow down your movement or bring back the drone to you (weight, wind and air conditions can be attributed to this). I'm sure I'm missing some things but I do have to say even with my super fast machine and a Titan RTX that content aware fill in AE was sloooooow, I hope they can fix some of this and use more of my GPU. Anyhow here is an example of a TEST flight I did that took me though all the steps from shooting, to editing to output. I will eventually buy Resolve but am already stuck with the adobe plans ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-nH628ZRTQlE.html cheers and Hugh Hou thank you so much for being a trooper and doing all these tutorials, I personally have learned a lot. Get your self up here to Tahoe and lets do some collaboration.
So from what Im understanding/thinking is that the easier way (using Affinity Photo) for the sky works is theres little to no clouds, because its basically sky swapping it to a still photo, correct? Also, I dont have Mocha or the paid version of Resolve. Im thinking of going the AE/Mocha route, would you recommend that method vs. using the Resolve?
Mine too! Lol. The third way I forget to mention here is to shoot my 3 meter pole super high and take a HDR photo there. All can be used as clean plate.
This is some extremely helpful info. I have good drone, post and 360 VR skills but I not the skills to marry them together to create 360 VR content. Thank you for making my workflow much more interesting and profitable.
Hugh, The 2021 OSCAR goes to you for all categories in VR 360.. I have been a super fan of yours for a considerable time, in fact, you have held my interest with your focus on only providing the Best in market approach and yes you have saved me thousands of dollars and hundreds of hours - plus Yes, on your own you have pioneered and expanded our community, So this is a special "THANK YOU, MY FRIEND, from all of us" who have all benefited from your energy and content. The way you drill into and communicate is faultless Thanks Mike
Hi Hugh Hou, it's a pleasure to watch and learn from your videos, I'm waiting for my Insta360 X2 to arrive so I can start introducing myself to the 360 world and surely work with Davinci so I've been learning a lot, thanks for always sharing.
Thank you for this and all of your other videos - especially covering 360 + VR + resolve/fusion. Keep up the good work. We really appreciate your hard work
Wow wow wow! so so so Good to find a perfect mentor. What you are in practical terms doing Is exactly what I have been envisioning for my work. Thank for such a great library of work😁
Really well done. I'm a long-time drone operator and RU-vidr, new to 360, and I use Resolve Studio for my editing. Right! Up! My! Alley! Well done, looking forward to trying this after I get a mount (or maybe design one...) Loved it. Big thumbs up.
Hugh, it would be awesome if you could do a video on how this workflow works with an Apple M1 Pro and Max Mabook when they are release. Not an apple fan here but what they have presented today looks promising.
Excellent video. So far seen a lot outdoor 360 drone info videos. Would be great to see example of fly and collect 360 indoor. It would be great if you could be the 1st to show it based on your experience and good ideas ?
5760x2880 isn't available on the free version of davinci? Is there a way to do this with the free version? Thank you, liked, subscribed, let the ads play ;P
Thanks! So the video can be sideload back into Oculus Quest to be viewed by clients. Or you can release on Oculus TV directly for the general public to enjoy. We are building drone app to use Quest but that is coming :)
Hey Hugh, i just made a couple of 360-videos with the insta360 one x2 and the phantom 4 pro above some great tulip fields in my country. I imported the footage into insta360 studio for stiching (to prores). The footage looks very smooth. I love the flowstate stabilization. I am going to try stabilizing with resolve. I usually stabilize with mocha pro. I have a beefy machine. I guess its good to learn more alternative methods to see which one provides the best quality. I love your 360-video editing play list. I will try all the tips and tricks. Thanks 👍
Cool video. I always love your inclusion of Davinci Resolve. While I don't own a drone, I certainly did like the cleanplate method from Affinity Photo which I use for 360 stills. great tutorial, as always, Hugh
Dude. Check your kit, when you stood up after getting the drone out, something fell out the top (timestamp 4.07). Keep your eyes on the top flap. It was something solid, as the mic picks up the noise of it hitting the ground. No one likes the one r aerial edition package, with the split lens 🙁 that's the one I have and plan to post a clip on it after showcasing the ultimate skiing setup.
So I noticed you said One X 2 is the best solution for 360 aerial footage.... better than the One R Aerial edition? Have I made a mistake in buying one?!
One R and One X2 are the same image quality. One X2 my built here is 100% better than One R aerial edition and here is why: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-UjwZLxW8xZk.html
I learn by doing lol. The best way to learn it just on the job and figure it out. Our workflow there is no tutorials or schools will teach as I figure on this myself working with Blackmagic Fusion team and independent developers.
Thank you very much for your videos and for your teachings Hugh! And the video that you promised us a long time ago to edit in 360º 3D with davinci? I have an insta 360 pro and I would like to learn how to edit content for Oculus.
Hello, You are doing a great job on teaching me the stuff I have to learn to do what I need to be successful, I would like to know if you are going to do the PTGui 360 Gigapixel Pano. I'm interested. Thank you again for all your hard work and devotion to the this profession. DaVinci Resolve on 360° & drone 360°. JMo Spg Hill
Thanks for your many helpful videos. I am new to 360 video editing and wasn't successful with your tutorial. The output is always a flat video and not a 360 degrees video. What obvious could I have forgot to switch to produce a 360 video? Everything worked including the reframing. I just want 360 in and 360 out with changing the view point. Thanks for your help
@@hughhou Thanks for your quick response. No I haven't encoded the video with the tools mentioned. But that would only change the metadata and not the video itself, right?
Awsome video again Hugh 👌 I own the insta360 one x2. I would like to put it on my drone and make some 360-videos. Which settings for exposure do you usually apply? Is auto - 0,5 EV good?
@@hughhou Thanks buddy! Hopefully i can ask one more question. Do i need an anti vibration mount? I only have a regular polar pro mount for my phantom 4 pro. Hopefully the image stabilization is good enough in combination with stabilizing in post. I have premiere, after effects and mocha pro.
Oh you do need anti-vibration mount - there are a lot - even Insta360 website sell one. Or you use Resolve to smooth it out. For that actually Resolve is better as Mocha require tracking - but without damper the whole video will shake - so just use Resolve to smooth it out before Mocha tracking.
You are really amazing.I learn a lot from you.I am from greece and i have one question. In the adobe premiere how can I fix the initial zoom position with which I would start the 360 video?
@@hughhou @CreatorUp ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-VJ1g0seNgLk.html i want this video as example , to start with more zoom out because youtube restricted is there a way i Can set it to the premiere but have it 360 as here no reframed ?It is shot with gopro max.I want to have more detail as video and thats the reason i want to have it more zoom out.i believe on export i am ok from premiere
I received my insta360 ONE X2 and love it. The blue mount is not made for my Mavic Air 2 so I designed my own mount using the same design. I tried keeping weight down by making all the parts 3d printable other than the rubber balls and the 1/4 camera bolt and the initial flight only lost 4-6 minutes of flight time so I should be good to go there. Where I ran into problems is with in camera settings. Do you use any type of ND filters with the X2 or just adjust shutter speed from the standard 2/1?
@@hughhou flic.kr/s/aHsmUGzDvn I made the short clip on mount first then redesigned to give some distance from the drone and made it a wrap around bolt on design. The clip on held up fine in flight, but I just don't trust it. The only other parts needed are rubber balls with pins, 1/4 post and super glue or epoxy. All sensors were on during flight and only sounded off during hand launch and landing. Now I just need something other than leafless trees to film.
Thanks for the info, just what I was after. I have been learning davinci by editing my 3d videos since I don't have a 360 cam yet. Can the sphericalstabilizer node be used on 3d footage as well? I tried using the standard stabilizer in the edit section and it messed up the video.
@@hughhou and for two simultaneously recorded 3d 180 vr shots? What would be the post processing and alignment strategy of your choice these days for this case?
What Macbook specs do you use or recommend when editing Insta360 One X2 footage with Davinci Resolve 17 studio? Adobe Premiere Pro never gave me good results as there was always an issue with frame rates after exporting.
great video as usual! I used a "home made" (with gopro accesories) rigid attachment to fix a GoproMAX to the Mavic 2 Pro, but the drone vibrates a lot (really a lot) when hoovering. Could it be caused by the "stiffness" of the attachment?
so...its not adobe vs davinci, its adobe vs davinci+ affinity. not a big problem but could be more upfront and honest. especially if you are right and not really gaining profit from promoting davinci.
1. Recognize your condition: God's commandments prove that we have broken His law. God says: "Thou shalt not bear false witness..." "Thou shalt not steal." "Thou shalt not commit adultery." "Thou shalt not covet..." "Thou shalt have no other gods before me." "Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in Vain; for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain." The truth is, if God judged you by His commandments, He would find you guilty. Romans 3:19, AV: "...that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God." Romans 3:23, AV: "For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God." 2. Realize that the price/penalty of sin is death and hell. Romans 6:23, AV: "For the wages of sin is death..." Revelation 20:15, AV: "And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire." Hell is a real place, where those who die without accepting The Lord Jesus Christ will go for all eternity. 3. Realize that The Lord Jesus Christ paid your sin debt. Romans 5:6,8, AV: "For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly." "But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." The Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God, suffered and died on the cross for your sins. John 3:16, AV: "For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." The Lord Jesus Christ loves you. He wants you to be saved and live in Heaven with Him for all eternity. 4. Receive The Lord Jesus Christ as your Saviour. John 1:12, AV: "But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name." In faith, trust the Lord Jesus as your Saviour today. Acts 16:30-31, AV: "...Sirs, what must I do to be saved? And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved..." John 5:24, AV: "Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life." Would you like to know for sure that Heaven will be your home? Do you admit that you are a sinner and deserve hell for your sins? Do you believe that The Lord Jesus Christ died to pay your sin debt? Will you repent and ask The Lord Jesus Christ to save you today, right now? Ephesians 2:8-9, AV: "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast." Romans 10:9,13, AV: "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved." " For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved."
