I had trouble with predictive follow last time I used it (Monday) it kept swinging round to the opposite side of the school every time I approached it! 🤣 Today I tried it without and moved it to the 3/4 line but slightly further towards A than X. I found it easier as I could just forget about it and know that it would pick us up when we rode past rather than search for us. It struggled a bit but it was an overcast morning so I think that was an issue for it. Still got lots of good footage though (nothing worth sharing as all in walk, but good for me as I was focusing on my position and straightness through turns)

Just got the silver. Your vids are very helpful!! I have an iphone. If I have it in landscape, I cannot see the tracking speed, nor can i scroll to find it below the visible screen. Turn your phone to verticle to see it at the bottom of the screen

Hi Finally have the pivo following me yayyy. I use the remote and it is 50/50 if it is recording can you do a you tube on using the remote once you are on. thank you

Great video, would it be able to manage to track in case different people comes in between? To explain the situation, many riders turn up to school, so lot of people in the ground. Importantly, while I am riding in the outer circle, there would be trainer, training beginners in the inner circle (running along the horse, in short circles), hence many interruptions.

I imagine some people would use the tracking on the iPhone but not press record, therefore, all tracking movement happens using the iPhone camera, but all recording can happen on the GoPro, saving iPhone memory space and offering the classic “GoPro” wide shot angle.

when you have set phone find horse (red box) and press red button does is automatically record ?? i didnt get any recordings not sure why ? or when it says make magic is it recording staright away ? i may have turned it to photo when i got on not realising it was already recording any help greatly appreciated xx

It can track from the front OR back camera, but not at the same time, so you'll need to choose one or the other.

The only issue I would have is that I can't put it in the middle of my trainers arena it would have to be on the side. Would it have a issue? My mom got me the silver pivo and I can't wait to test it out. My horse is quick but the lesson horses are slow (sometimes). There are a lot of colorful (red, orange, blue, white ect: fence colors and there about 10 jumps in the arena. Idk if I'll be able to take it to my lessons but I hope I can it would be so great to have. I truly love having my lessons recorded as it lets me review what mistakes I had and I can work with that with my mare who is still green.

Putting it in the corner of the arena is not a problem, here is an example where I did just that : instagram.com/p/CTE-oR6IgOV/? You mentioned lessons. If you are riding with others in the arena, the Pivo will follow the horse closest to the camera because it tracks by following shapes and movement so better when riding alone

You definitely can but it can be hard to know if it's off or on so I just leave it running so I don't get distracted

I have a silver, only used it once but found it could barely stay on us 😔 our background is not very plain though, the sun was low and my horse and the school surface are both black. I don’t have a tripod and wonder whether using one might help? 🤔

Ahh. I’m really sorry to hear that :( I think the horse + the school colour may not help. Have you tried wearing some bright colours / fluorescent gear? That’s supposed to help. Pivo recommends you have it at the height of the horse’s torso, so it depends if you have something you can sit on that is that high. I believe pivo are also trying to make the remote a tracking device you can have in your pocket which should help a lot too! :)

It’s on a small mounting block so maybe the tripod would be better 🤔 I’m not giving up yet 😊, going to try a few different positions in the school and like you say try wearing bright colours. Oh a Tracking device would be perfect! I hope it’s compatible with the silver! I’ve seen a few other videos on here where people have had to play with it a bit before it would work well- we will persevere 😊
