I get a lot of emails asking about advice for what to look for when buying a used Range Rover, and as many videos as I've done on them, I thought it would be good to do an entire series based around it. Today we're starting off the new series with what to look for when shopping online for a used Range Rover. In this video, I'll walk you through my process of finding a good used Range Rover online before I waste my time at the dealership and pay for an inspection. By no means is this EVERYTHING you should look for to find a good used Range Rover. We'll get to the rest of it next week where we address issues not seen in the photos.

More About This Video
Obviously, everyone has their own process of going through used car inventory online, and while it's great to be able to weed out cars that are bad from the start, it can sometimes be harder to point out every single aspect of a used Range Rover. There are so many different parts and aspects to ownership that it can easily become intimidating when looking for one. With that, my process of going through used Range Rovers starts simple. I look at exterior quality like paint, body modifications, suspension level, wheels, brakes, and more. I try to go over some of the more Range Rover-specific aspects in this video.
First and foremost, it's important to check the suspension is level in the pictures. As we all know, suspension problems on Range Rovers can quickly become expensive and difficult to keep up with, so be sure that before you buy, the suspension is in working order. Additionally, it's a good idea to check the quality of the paint in the pictures. Poor paint quality won't always come through in pictures, but it is easy to notice bigger imperfections.
On top of that, when searching for a good used Range Rover, you'll want to check the interior quality. Check for tears in the leather as well as plastic trim that isn't aligned properly. There's also the known issues of the screens in the early Range Rovers being poor quality and becoming unresponsive over time. It's extremely common, and most get replaced; however, make sure the one you buy isn't suffering from typical used Range Rover issues like this.
As far as the timing chain goes in the 5.0L V8 models, it's impossible to tell from pictures. This is something that we will discuss in next week's video about how to buy a good used Range Rover.
By all means, if there's a used Range Rover L322 you'd like for me to check out, I'd be more than happy to. Send me an email at Hello@thebreakdown.xyz or on Instagram @BreakdownAutomotive. I love getting to help people find the right used Range Rover.
