My favorite kind of silence : being alone on a snowy mountain. I once failed a turn while riding on a sled, which got me out of bounds from the track. After laughing at my fall, I felt amazed by how deep the silence was around me. It was during a school trip so I surely wasn't alone on the mountain - I wasn't even very far away from the others -, but it seems like the snow works as an oversized acoustic panel, because it felt like there was no one within a 10km radius. The feeling was so pleasing that I stood there for a while before going back on the track.
You are so right! Silence is so important for mankind! Today everywhere is some sort of sound polution. In the shopping mall, elevator, even on the see where everyone has a sound box to kill the wonderfull sounds of nature. Even the most parks or recreation areas in Germany are near a highway or train lane WITHOUT any kind of soundproof wall or anything else. I just started with drone shooting and looking up to you, with your perfect shots, music and very good english. I am searching for the perfect spot of nature sound to calm down everyday and every moment there is time for this. Keep on doing this great job of art! Thank you for beeing on this planet, too! ;)
Read the book from Taylor Caldwell calles Melissa, it talks a little about this. And sort of reminds me of Tolkien’s idea of a astonish natural world that we can enjoy.
Hi Niklas, I´m from a small town and about twenty years ago I moved to study to a big city. It took me like seventeen years to get used to the noise. I really miss my little town silence, to get up with the singing birds sound. I suffer when thee neigbours put music very loud and that makes that I can't focus on my activities. It´s a very good video!!! Thanks for making people notice this kind of pollution. Kisses from Argentina
An incredibly well done video, Niklas! My mother lived in a remote part of Montana, USA. On one of my visits to her she took me out on a country road at night so that we could both experience silence. I will always remember that, not just for the silence but for her wisdom in what she did. I've often thought about what it would be like to go back in time and take a walk on a beautiful day, before gasoline engines, telephone posts and asphalt.
@@GamerTim3 Yes, I'd rather listen to a funny car or top fuel dragster...I live for that stuff. But silence certainly has its own place in world's beauty.
This video explains what is an actual issue in our days. Noise pollution is a problem in almost all developed countries, but this is an even bigger problem in my country (Armenia). For example, there are still helicopters flying every day in the sky after the war; there are still loud cars and night fireworks. What is even more irritating here is people playing loud music during early mornings and late nights. Noise pollution is a big issue today. Developed countries should have regulations about noise pollution so that developing countries will also follow them-all in all, thanks for sharing this message and raising awareness. I hope more and more people will start to understand how serious this problem is becoming.
I've never realized how lucky I am to be living in a small city and having little to no noise around till I saw this video. Keep up the good work, you got a new sub!
Niklas, I love the content you've been making so far. I think this is a very important discussion, especially from the perspective of someone who works with creativity (from the perspective of many of your viewers). We are living in a society of urgency, fatigue and burnout. And this and many other contents you have been addressing in your channel brings a reflection and inspiration to anyone that wants to try to live a healthier, a different kind of routine. To do more than just surviving another day. Thank you for sharing this from an editor and content creator's perspective and in such a creative and cinematic way. I love your videos and I really appreciate when you share contents like this with us. Keep up the great work.
All these social videos that you make are just so important and helpful for everyone. I personally get a lot motivated and i continue try to change some of my bad attitudes like these your are talking about . Thank you nik
I love how much work you put into this video, its something you're passionate about and damn does it show! Thanks for working so hard on something regardless of the views! Love what you're doing and don't stop!
Dude the overall video is incredible! The transition is seamless, the sound choice is more than perfect, and the outstanding editing skill makes you look more talented. But one thing I could suggest here is about the average noise part you mentioned in this video. Though 98dB literally seems like two times than 50dB, scientifically, it is in fact 100,000 louder according to the DECIBEL FORMULA. Hope you see this comment~
Every day when I wake up I go outside and sit in my backyard, I'm surrounded by trees and many different birds. I enjoy listening to the sound of nature in the morning and sometimes I find myself talking with myself and talking about the different thoughts in my head, when I get tired of talking, I get my book out and start reading or journaling. I'll say that ever since I started my spiritual journey I began to love the sound of nature and being alone, I started to enjoy things people wouldn't like and find "weird". I'm glad I chose this path because it has open my mind to new possibilities and potential.
I really appreciate your videos Nicolas. You’re good at this. Wonderful videos sir. It’s almost like this work you’ve got going on RU-vid comes so naturally to you, it’s incredible! ✨❤️
Niklas, another great video and topic! Yes, you are right as last year I was on a camping trip with my son out in the woods. I remember being there and thinking, how amazing is it to just detach and enjoy the silence? There was no music, just nature in its full beauty! I have learned to appreciate the silence. It helps in so many ways, especially when you're reading or trying to be creative or make an important decision! Hugely helpful video!
You are just an incredible film maker. I aim to produce content on this level. Absolutely phenomenal. I'd love to sit down and talk with you and gain information and experience. One of the best film makers on RU-vid by far, such a great flow through out your content.
Thank you for the beautiful video. Pls. note : 60dB is twice as loud as 50dB. 70dB is 4 times as loud as 50dB. This is because dB is measured on the logarithmic scale.
Brilliant, I’ve been watching a lot of drone videos lately...my Mavic Air 2 arrived today:) it makes me feel that drone footage helps you appreciate the beauty of the wilderness again when watching that type of footage. Can’t wait to start experimenting. Your Silence video is very impressive and informative!
I live in finland and when im at my family's summer cottage and come out of the sauna and just sit in the silence and look at the nature, thats one of the best feelings i know
Discovering your channel is one of the best things that have happened to me this week. Thank you for creating this awareness. I'm inspired to embrace the silence.
I live in a rural area that used to be wonderfully peaceful. In the past few years, we've had a cargo train station, pipeline, and other heavy industry move in all around us. Many of the truckers that pass through have loud aftermarket exhaust systems and from 6AM until 2AM (sometimes 24hrs) we hear the constant noise of trucks engine braking. It's the soundtrack to our lives now, even when we're trying to sleep. This is where I grew up, so I've watched the change take place over decades and it continues to get louder every year. This winter has been particularly bad as I have fewer opportunities to go anywhere away from the noise due to the lockdown.
I so darn agree. I thought it is just me with extremely sensitive ears but noise really ticks me off so much that I literally can't be any productive how so ever much I try. Thanks for such a good video!
True, my best holidays I ever had in my life were when I went with my girlfriend to Portugal to a country side. We spend there almost 3 weeks and we didn't had internet, no music, car. Nothing, just peace and quiet. We had lake to swim, mountains to clime, forest to explore and all that without any internet, music, We didn't had that pressure that we need to go and see any famous places etc. I never came back from holidays so relax and happy. Nature is the best cure to our mental and physical health, sad that we are forgetting it :/ that it's being distracted by the 'civilisation'.
Great video. Thankfully we live in a place now that has very minimal noise and I feel so much better here than any place we've lived before. I rarely listen to music with words because often times it made me feel anxious like I couldn't wait to turn off the songs, I love being in nature and spending time with my dog. One thing I still struggle with is being on You Tube too much. :) Probably FB too but I am not spending near as much time on it as I used to.
Very informative and well made video👍. Where is live noise pollution is a very big problem also disturbance from low frequency noise. It is slowly driving me insane!! Thank you for this video. Keep up the good work. More awareness !
You belong to the world of movies & documentary etc etc. RU-vid is just a small place for such a talent like you. Godspeed to you my friend, lots of success & fame ahead of you.
Thanks for this. Pleasantly surprised to find this topic and your thoughts about it here. Less is more. Love the silence enhancing nature of snow. Mountains are great to find peace for me.
Man, I been listening to you for a few time, I actually get to you by drone video and quickly I subscribe to your channel, you are amazing story teller but most importantly a great motivated person. I start to post more often to my channel thanks to you but also I start to changing my habits and taking care of me and everyone by just watching your videos. Keep the good work and plis never stop, this world 🌎 need more people like you. My name is Nachai Lao from Puerto Rico 🇵🇷
Just glad to have found your channel before exploding (less than 5K subs when I wrote this), keep the amazing work and you will be reaching 10K-100K-1M in no time.
Look for the book “ “ by Cardinal Sarah. And make a review of your feelings about it. Also I have always been very sensitive to smells and noises, noises where super distracting and made me feel very hyperactive and totally out of control, mostly because my family listens to TV the whole day and they used very loud volume. So I have always felts this sensation of being on the verge to run away from noise, to a place like a beach or a mountain. I have practiced trying no to put any music most of my commute time and it does make me feel strange when suddenly someone asks for a ride and don’t know what to do with all the silence while me driving... it’s funny I might make a video or write an essay on this topic.
Very good video, thank you for sharing this. We are trying to reduce the noise around us by being more present. It definitely helps to not put on music all the time but to have some coffee or tea and be still.
Man, you made me a fan of your work in just 3 mins of your videos 😍😍❤️ believe me this is the 1st tym I m watching your videos 🙌❣️ outstanding work brother ❤️......much love 💕💕
This lockdown really made me realise some of the major effects of noise pollution. Some things are so evident and they are never talked about. So I am doing my own research since none of the other experts seem to be doing. Or atleast none that Im aware of.
That is great. Yes so much pollution. From noise, wifi, dirty electricity, toxins in our food / water / soil and more. The lockdown was not fun but I do believe there is a silver lining in that many people now have time to notice and pay attention to things that would have otherwise slipped by in the busyness of life.
Hello sir!! I have been following you after watching your Mallorca Dorne Footage. Honestly speaking it was amazing cinematic video and inspired me a lot. Thanks 👍 One more thing is that in this video there is a small clip that you hit by a car.. I like this footage a lot... Could you please make a tutorial on this video please??? Lots of love from India.
This video was not what I was expecting. I came from your drone cinematography tips video and came to your channel expecting more filmmaking videos. But THIS video, oh my goodness, this video is absolutely brilliant. The message is on point, you tell the story beautifully, your sequences are powerful and emotional, and your eye for cinematography is astounding. Phenomenal job!
Ich bin ehrlich, ich liebe Momente in denen alles "leise" ist. Gleichzeitig stimme ich deinem Video zu, das es einen auch in einer gewissen Weise verängstigt. Du hast wieder ein super Video gemacht.👍
So glad I found your channel, no idea how I have missed this for so long. Seems like the sky is the limit for you. I really enjoy your content! Good Luck in Cape Town!
you are right! Silence is very important to people. There is some kind of noise pollution everywhere today. Everyone has a device nearby to destroy the amazing sounds of nature in the mall, on the highway, in many places. Many countries have many parks or even recreation areas near a highway or railroad without any kind of soundproof wall or anything.
