Thank you so much for this video. Im a beginner at candle making and have watched several other videos. I was so confused on why I was not getting enough wax to fill the number of jars I prepped for. Then came across your video which was by far the best. Thank you for taking the time to not only explain well but provide a visual also.

Did my first candles they were just small 1 oz molds, i didnt know so i used the hard wax to see what fit as the fill weight. Now i know to liquify it to figure it out. I also tried to do my own paraffin soy blend, 70/30 and my candles smelled on cold sniff but had absolutely no throw. Not sure when i added fragrance oils but i melted wax until 190 degrees then poured into molds around 130 degrees.

Hi there, thank you for your informative videos, I really appreciate your help! I was wondering when you make one of your larger candles, how do you know when to stop filling them up when making more than one at a time? How can you be sure that each candle has the same amount in when making multiple at a time when there isn’t a guide line? Thank you 😊

To use water to find wax weight- Fill jar with water to fill line e.g. 300ml. 300-30ml fragrance oil=270 gms wax 270 x .835=225 gms wax needed. Weight of wax times .835=precise amount of wax to use everytime.

@@norafiqah3309 in your example you said 30 ml, how do you determine that?
@paulwest6203
@paulwest6203 3 года назад
@@ourevilone to find the amount of fragrance oil needed- Ok so we want to have 10% fragrance oil in our mix. The fill volume of our container is 300ml. 10% of 300ml=30ml. If we want to add 5% fragrance oil in our mix-5% of 300ml=15ml.

Hi! I have been making candles in 4 oz jar and I waited for 3 days to cure.. when I lit one of them to test it the scent doesn’t come but very faint… how do I make it stronger? I want to sell it to my customers but I can’t if the scent doesn’t come… what did I do wrong… I did everything right and I measure by myself without the weight. I waited for the wax to be cool like around 140•F then added a EO… please help

Shouldn’t the wick factor into the equation? Once the wick is inserted, the fill line will raise slightly, or you would have leftover wax…no?
@MemoryBoxCandleCo
@MemoryBoxCandleCo 2 года назад
It’s adds a such a tiny bit of weight that it doesn’t affect anything 🤍 now I only have experience with cotton wicks, wood wicks might be slightly different. But I wouldn’t see it being so drastic that you would have to adjust anything

When you get your weight for your wax and you find out how much F.O to use doesn't that change the weight of the candle and you would have to subtract the weight of the wax to account for the F.O. When I make my candles I always have some leftover so I minus the weight of my F.O and it seems to work but I could be wrong on this. Thank-You

how do you properly clean out a candle jar after using it for these purposes?
@MemoryBoxCandleCo
@MemoryBoxCandleCo 2 года назад
You can line a baking sheet, set your oven to the lowest temp and put your candle upside down on the sheet and let the wax melt and fall out. You could also scoop out the wax and then use a heat gun on the remaining wax. Then use rubbing alcohol to wipe it out and dry thoroughly with a paper towel. You may need to clean with alcohol and few times to really get that wax residue from the bottom (you don’t want any residue at the bottom of the jar because this will make it harder for a new wick to stick to the bottom)

@MemoryBoxCandleCo
@MemoryBoxCandleCo 4 года назад
Sometimes this can happen! As of right now I haven’t found any oils that needed different wicks for my personal candles. But it’s always important to test a new scent with your wick to see how it performs :)

Is This fill weight or Net Weight that you were using in your other video when you took us through multiple demonstrations of formulas to figure out how much FO and Weight of wax for different oz of vessels? I think the video was calling “this formula is so simple”
@MemoryBoxCandleCo

I use fill weight and net weight interchangeably :) So if you do what I do in this video, then that number becomes your fill weight/net weight for the formula in my other video! ❤️

Hi! I have a question... I have been burning my wooden wick candle( I do know u don’t use ) idk if that makes a diff.... but I touched it after one hour , and it felt hot to the touch , and I am not sure if this is normal, even using a regular wick? My vessel is a bit hot... now what?! 🤷🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️
@3washali
@3washali 3 года назад
I’m no expert but depending on my knowledge ur vessel must’ve heated up because of what it’s made out of. The vessel will cool down eventually. About the wick it will also cool down eventually but I’m assuming wood heats up faster and more than cotton. I suggest you experiment with ur wicks and vessels and see which one you think is better and safer.
