Hi Deck Tech. Question do you know what are the symptoms when there is a faulty target light switch?? The black one with the 3 prongs where you connect the resistor? The reason I asked is cause I just purchased a used target light assembly with a burnt bulb on eBay and I think the switch is bad. Just replaced the LED and now the platter spins backwards for 1/2 turn anti clockwise. Then spinds normal. I’ve done 8 LED’s the past. I did everything according. To what I did before. So just to make sure there is nothing wrong with the main board I pulled the target light I did last year from one of my turntables and installed it in the turntable I am working on and works fine. Do you have any idea what the problem could be? And the reason why I am aiming at the target light switch is because when I push it down to turn the led off The platter works normal. It doesn’t spin backwards. And this is the target light assembly that just purchased. Thanks
That is a strange one without having a close look and testing the deck myself it's not something I could just say it's that, if you want to message me via my Facebook page @DeckTech maybe we could arrange for either me to test the deck or a phone call to try diagnose the problem further. 👍🏻
Hi Adam. Sorry to bother you so much. 1 more question So I am looking to buy the switch on/off for the target light or lamp. And it’s kind of hard to come across one switch out here in the US. The one that is designed for the target lamp switch I believe is SFDSD2MSL-C According to KAB in the US. And I found one on eBay it’s located in the UK but this one says it’s for the on and off switch (main) power. And can be use for the target lamp. This is the description on the sellers listing part # SFDSSS01GL13 and fit the power on / off or lmap on / off position on SL1200 or SL1210 decks. This part number it’s from the Panasonic label What’s your take on that. I don’t have the Manual. Do you know if these 2 parts meet the same specifications? Thanks. I just compared the switch on and off for the main power Vs the switch for the lamp and they do look kind of the same other then the small metal leg that keeps it from on and off is a little different. But the question is do they both meet the same specifications? Thanks again
Hi Bud great video. just a quick question, do i still need to add a resistor as iv seen in other youtube vids ? Im looking at buying a set of decks this week and want to service and mod them myself :) cheers
@@luke-so9hs yeah you'll need to put a resistor in the live feed (orange wire) you can use the one you cut off the micro switch but they're a bit bulky compared to a 1k ohm resistor 👍🏻
