I had a plumber who installed a new double spigot trap and well, he basically attached the waste pipe of the washing machine to the trap but it wasn't draining.. and I was like WTF.. until I discovered your video, thank you so much! still can't believe the plumber would have left both traps with these plugs still attached!!
No mention of the sizes, even the plugs don't tell you i have bought three different sizes and none fit. trying to get a 32mm but it is not easy. may repalce the u bend with a new one without a spigot.
Hi there, Sometimes it can be difficult, however if you look at the trap there should be a stamp/brand label, this will help you identify the the trap and therefore help you find the correct plug. Alternatively you can get a new trap with a spigot and it comes with the blanking plug.
Hi there, Unfortunately you haven't understood the purpose of my video, this system works perfectly without any issues. With the water from the sink this goes through the trap and then into the waste water pipe/drain, not the washing machine. I don't know where your getting your information from but it's clearly wrong.
Hello my spigots are blocked (I am assuming with a blanking plug) but they are attached to the trap with closed pvc, is there a way to unblock this? I have had a new dishwasher fitted and it won’t drain due to this! Thank you very much!
Mine just popped out when hubby plunged it so hard. But I already had the blue bit in and there was another one that came out full of gunk but can’t think of where that was when mine already had the stopper inside. I’ll just leave it out.
THANK YOU SO MUCH - gotta remove the dishwasher and the outflow is just like this picture - linked to washing machine drain off thingy. Spent the whole day trying to google what the fck to do! THANK YOU AGAIN 😁🥰
hi. I I undid my sink u bend and pipes to remove blockage. I I put back together now the bit with the blanking plug is leaking. any ideas what is wrong. I shall I get a new blanking plug
Hi there, Sometimes when you remove a trap this can cause problems, however what I would recommend is to undo it and make sure your washers and pipes are clean and then test for leaks, if this still doesn't work I would either buy new washers or a new trap.
Hi there, The purpose of this plug is to stop any water coming out when your appliance is discharging water. Also if you have a blocked sink, it's a must to plug both spigots to get maximum pressure on the blockage. If you decide to attach a drain hose to the spigot you must remove the blanking plug.
This you use when your not using that pipe. Obviously it’s to stop water coming out. If your using the pipe then you must take it out to let waste water out.
You should extend the video and show how some plumbers fit them wrong. They take the spigot off and put the blanking plug in the pipe instead of the spigot. Then the blue plug gets wedged down in the u bend and you can't get it out!
How do i fit the trap that youre plugging in this video? I have a sinlge pipe with no nozzel at all i just shove the waste pipe down a really long waste pipe and swap them when i want to use the other appliance. This is annoying so i bought the trap you have there, and need to add the trap seen in The video to it. Thanks.
Hi Victoria, Ideally it would be handy to send a photo or video, but I can run through it with you the best I can. On the trap you will have a top nut which will thread on to the basket strainer, then the nut below the top nut you will have an adjustable height. On the u-bend itself there is a swivel adjustable nut. All these nuts are hand tightened. The part which attachs to the waste pipe you need to put the plastic nut on the waste pipe first, then the flat washer followed by the rubber washer, with the chamfered edge facing the trap. With the spigots, make sure you remove the blanking plug and attach it to the trap, then attach your waste pipe to the spigot with a jubilee clip or spring loaded clip. Hope this helps All the best Mustafa
