Hi Shane Trying to fit rehau window 706 beads on casement window. Your videos look so easy Told to spray glass before because dry gaskets. Still won't engage properly. Very frustrated is it the beads or me! Any help greatly appreciated. Ian.
Could you put expaning foam around the window first to hold it firm before putting the screws in? The reason I ask is that I've removed the old frame from an outside garage window and it didn't have a lental and so the bricks above have moved, they haven't fell but I'm thinking if I drill first it might upset them and cause a problem but if I firm the window as much as possible with foam it's less likely to happen. Thanks
Hi Shane. I need to remove aluminium double glazed windows to replace with UPVC frames and glass if you end up doing this could you video it too? I’m not even sure what’s the best way to measure up for the replacements
Good video....But would be good to know what those screws are called and how long they need to be...And when you put the sill on did you say you put silicone in before you screwed it to the frame?
I’ve just had a window fitted. Everything as you say however, they’ve siliconed external beading in place which you don’t mention? Is what’ve done correct? Thanks.
Question ,,if a frame is e,g, 1000 mm x 1000 mm ,,whar size of pane do you order ,,995 x 995 or 990 x 990 ? What gap should you have ? Hope this makes sense, im a DIYr only 👍
Some fitters may do but unless there opening windows or doors it's not necessary the main object is to lift the glass so any water penetrator can flow freely to the drainage channel
I've just had my glass changed due to this happening, the window company said its because there's a leak in the seal, if air / moisture get in then its no longer double glazed, it's just two panes of glass serving very little use
