I bought my RTP a few weeks before I saw your first video on the RTP, I've been lucky enough to have owned loads of bikes over the years, including the latest and greatest. Don't know what it is as I just can't put my finger on it, but I've gelled with and enjoyed owning this bike more than any other bike, apart from it being a brilliant bike it doesnt have ANY of the mod cons you get on new bikes, but it just does everything effortlessly
@@markholroyd5365 given the amount of time you spend with Toby and the fact that you don't seem to have the same wierd habits, I think you are safe Mark.
Like the look of the RT-P. Just bought a 2010 FJR ( which is amazing BTW) but if I had had my wits about me I would have looked for a FJR-P, which also looks tasty. I presume these high mileage, but well maintained, Police bikes are cheap to buy? How do you get hold of them? Are there specialist auction sites? ATVB
The buttons on the left side fairing are blankets and have no buttons but you could insert your own if you wanted to. The speakers are just covers like all RT’s as the RTP’s don’t have the OEM speakers or sound systems fitted.
I see that you have in this video the normal police dash, but other videos, you have the raised dash that fits a navi system. Did you do a video where you swap that? I cant find the part number for that too.
we didn't do a vid about it, but I got the part from eBay. Came from Lithuania. Is the same part as the normal RT's have and also the same fitment, so just a simple switch from one to the other. The CanBus or sat nav plug is zip tied in behind the clocks and easy to find, so no wiring either :)
My understanding is that the XT2 runs directly from the 12V supply, whereas the mount for the XT is supplied via an in-line device which I've always taken to be a voltage converter. If that's the case, how will your XT be powered if you fit that on your mount instead of the XT2? (Btw - the BMW connector on the 1250 rt is on the the left hand side of the headstock, if anyone's looking for it).
very true, I guess pay more to buy them for police and then sell them for more, so they get what they need rather than thinking about resale value as they are about practicality, shame though...
