Before using an engine driven pressure washer it is important to check that the travel plugs in the pump and gearbox have been removed and replaced with the correct oil breather dipsticks. This short video shows how to change them and what tools to use, it also highlights the difference between the pump dipstick and the gearbox dipstick. The travel plugs are fitted to all new pumps and gearboxes to stop oil from leaking out when stored and transported, so if you are using a new pressure washer for the first time then this procedure will certainly need to be carried out before use.
