Third party off eBay, and it was so-so quality in terms of paint finish in a couple of places, but it's strong and fitted okay... Considerably cheaper than the JLR ones though... @@howejones4126

Third party, off eBay. Solid enough, but the paint finish wasn't perfect, but mostly out of sight. Mounting was suspiciously identical to the originals! The plastic covers didn't fit though so I'm waiting for him to send more. Fraction of the OEM price though, so it is what it is :-) @@howejones4126

Side gear box ? we are struggling to get parts from Land Rover at the moment - spare wheel covers are near impossible to get !

hello Simon….well….firstly they decided my dpf valve was good but the inlet pressure sensor was faulty with blocked pipe work. The LR warranty then refused to pay out as the car”;…had not been driven properly” so some meaningful conversations ensued!! Or appears that I should not own a diesel unless I do 20 mins on the motorway every day! How many do that??? Despite running on Shell V Power or Esso Supreme diesel, thepipes were blocked and it is my fault! As I go to Cornwall and back every month and many other places in between, I’m not impressed! I had to pay £737 and hope the dpf really is alright…but asi drove out of the delivery hall, the Warning Light came up so it went straight back into the workshop where they disovered a faulty electrical connector which they cleaned and then the flit cleared…or maybe just plugged it in properly??? Now I’m thoughtful about keeping it so the salesman battle broke out….😬🙂🙂🙂The RRS I cannot insure, the Defender is too high for H to get in, the Evoque is…just old…,the Dscovery only works as a D300 so we ended up at a Velar…and that is “under investigation” It does work quite well for our use and the latest ones look better but the range is complex. We shall see??….i don’t think you get any demand for Velar upgrades!!😬😃😃😃 @@L663

I am sorry to hear about the poor response from Land Rover - its just not good enough ! To charge a pensioner who treats his car so well is just not acceptable. The Velar is more stolen than the Sport - I think it was the most stolen car based on the volume on the road...... You really need to consider Electric - they love short trips - the Tesla is Carolines favourite car etc

Simon…nothing bought yet but we need air suspension and that is not possible with the plug in hybrid but they have a P250 MHEV with lots of the right bits and colours. Sadly the insurance could well kill the idea…a quote last night for a P400 Autobiography was £1963…the D/Sport was £738 last time (up from £580 in 22/23). We stopped to look at Toyota Lexus but whilst beautifully made, reliable,, sensible and will last 50 years, they just look awful..we didn’t even get out of the car. I have before but I would trade any JLR faults ( if they occur in reality!) for a car with some design and purpose. I really do not have a clue what on earth to buy as everything I can think of is flawed in one way or another. Maybe an Austin Allegro might be a plan..totally their proof, cheap to fix every weekend, no depreciation, old and of no interest to vandals or Facebook warriors! I think a 1300 Super in Harvest Gold with chocolate cloth seats might work!! Onwards…it wasn’t like in 1972 with my Dad’s new Ford Capri 1600 XL 😃😃😃😃😃@@L663

moring Richard - just spending the weekend getting the late father in laws Woleseley princess going and sold to an enthusiast. It starting no problem with a new battery and the points and spark plugs cleaned ! Now just the Austin Ambassador to get started !
