How do one with a square chain. Sounds weird but it has thick tiny squares for each part of the chain so it can be broken and refixed like this one. Do u have any suggestions?

Any chain made of links can be fixed like the one in this video. Make sure to cut in the center of a link so you can close it after looping it through the neighboring square link . Hi Mirabelle, in this video we use needle nose pliers, fingernail clippers, and round pliers. The needle nose pliers have a cutting surface, but a nice sharp pair of clippers will do the trick. 😊

In this video we used small side-cutting pliers first, then fingernail clippers second. You can use a sharp pair of heavy-duty scissors to cut a link in fine silver and high-karat gold chains because silver and gold are soft metals.

Sometimes metal gets fatigued and will not hold a shape. If that's what is going on, you can use a different link to join the two sides together. Just remove the fatigued link, then repair the necklace from there. This method is a temporary repair. Hope this helps!

Yeah not really a fix more like a band-aid... That link is mangled need to be soldered and filled in and grinded and buffed.. fuck idk why I look up when I can just do it my self. Just wanted some tips.....

Hi Justin, thanks for your comment! As mentioned in the description, this is a band-aid fix. It's only meant to get you where you're going. Since you are looking for tips: 1. If the link is entirely mangled and can't be bent back into shape, then remove it and link the two nearest links, or remove what links are necessary to maintain the chain pattern. Note: Soldering is the method of choice for small and fast silver and gold repairs. Not everyone has that option. 2. If your chain is plated the solder might not work (depending on the base metal, kind of plate, and kind of solder you have). 3. For gold and silver use 67tin/33lead solder. 4. For plated chains, use an acid test to determine the base metal, then use appropriate solder for that metal. 5. If you don't have a grinder, use a 350 grit fingernail file (covered in another video). 6. If you don't have a buffer, use a clean cotton cloth and take your time. Good on you for being self-sufficient! It's not always easy to fix what breaks. Hope these tips help you out. If you have any more questions just let me know. :)

is this some kind of fking joke? this is not fixed at all in any way, the link is still open and can bend/fall off with almost no effort at all. if you really want your chain fixed then jus take it to any jeweler near you and have them solder the link closed so it can actually be fixed.
