I'm in Michigan, I just purchased a VW that came up from Florida and has headliner issues. The dealership I got it from tried to fix it in their shop and ended up ripping the fabric. They gave me more than enough money to have it repaired, but the problem is that we don't have headliner shops in Michigan. It's not an issue here like Florida. Makes me think I should drive down to Tampa to visit my in-laws and have this guy do it for me.

Top job for sure i worked with people like this man years ago in Aer Lingus in Ireland on the Aeroplanes , pure professionals they were , one was Peter mc nally ,other was Philip Derwin and Maurice great ppl , your roof panel looks so well when covered with fresh new material , what a great job , ive an Audi with the same problem so im going to get mine done professionally,, all the best,, great video thanks man

It actually is pretty easy and you don't even need much to do it. I have done 3. It just takes time if you are not a pro. Unfortunately most people can't even change a tire these days.

Really makes me want to try it as he did make it look super easy. Failing that I need to find someone in the UK, south.

Definitely gonna do this on my 05 Accord. It has a black interior with silver trim, but the headliner and pillar covers are gray and the headliner is sagging, so I figure I may as well take the pillar covers off too, peel off the gray stuff and do black all the way.

Price wise what did this cost? If you don’t mind me asking!!! I got a 08 Porsche Cayenne with horrible sagging

Some laundry detergent on a nylon brush really gets the old foam and glue residue off. Then rinse well and let it dry in the sun. Just did my Volkswagen's headliner. Way more work than I thought it would be, but it looks good as new.

When u spray glue , how long have to wait to put the liner?

You can actually pre spray the roof panel and let the glue go off. Then lay the fabric over the board and pull back to half way to spray with contact, the wet glue will reactivate the glue on the roof panel. My experience you may ask.. I spent many years bonding rubber/foam to floors, and bonding carpet to the rubber/foam using this method.

Driving with the windows down and parking in the Florida sun are the worst things for a headliners stability, gas fumes decompose the oem adhesive, so don't leave a nearly empty fuel can in the car especially with the windows up.

Not for DYI? Lol I literally just did it myself with Alcantara Suede. It was one of the easiest things I've done on my car.

LoL! I used to do several of these a day at my dad's auto upholstery shop when I was 12 y.o. Seriously, it's not that big of a deal to DIY. You just need to unsecure the molding and lights, bring it down, angle it out the front door. Get a wire brush and scrape out the old foam, then get spray adhesive and spray both the headliner and replacement foam, and just push it down, trim the edges, wrap it over the back side of the head liner, and spray that down, and just put it back in. If a 12 y.o can do it, anyone can do it.
