The repair has been in place for probably 2-3 months and still working great so I'm happy about that! Thanks for checking out the video Rita and Happy New Year!! 🎉
Question: Would a putty like this be appropriate to use on the hot line for a hot water heater? It looks like we had a squirrel that was in the attic chew on ours and punctured the PVC, so I was wondering if this would be appropriate to use for that or if the section should just be replaced.
Considering the drywall thickness plus the thickness of that pipe they would have had to have an unusually long (like 8-12" long) 1/8" drill bit to do that. It was a missfire for hanging that toilet paper holder so just that front-side damage.
Could've saved a lot of money if my parents did not have plumber fix it. All he did was apply rubber PVC coupling with fastener on the PVC pipe after cutting out 2 sq ft drywall and didn't patch the wall back up for $1100. Plumber thieves... God told me simply applying a waterproof silicone to patch up the hole would've worked.🙄
@@noobz5056 Oh that's terrible! I've had that same problem with local plumbing companies charging astronomical prices for small jobs. Best to ask around for a local, trusted independent for better pricing if possible.
Mate the wall already looks like a bomb has gone off😂 Just cut out a nice square piece of the drywall so you can fully access the pipe take a piece out of the pipe slap a repair part on it glue the thing up bang couple pieces of wood on the drywall cut a square out that is same size as the cut out area and screw and all home patch your square up and skim the area with some plaster three passes cause first and second will shrink slightly then when done sand it all down and then paint the sucker job done correct way and the way it will last till the end of time
@@BobSmith9753 A drywall repair is needed already..... Cut the drywall out large enough to get access to the pipe and replace the damaged section of pipe.
Yeah, cut the pipe out and replace it. If its not good enough for anything other than a drain pipe, its not good enough for a drain pipe. Hypothetically, stack gets clogged or some kinda pressure builds up, id rather be safe than sorry.
