thanks for the video. I forgot to empty the gas tank last year and now when I put gas in the snow blower it leaks over night. do you have any suggestion of what causes that.
@JOEZEP54
@JOEZEP54 9 лет назад
The needle valve for the float may be sticking and not allowing the float to push it up into the seat. This will not stop the gas flow & cause the leaking. Follow the instructions in this video & you should be ok.

Gotta leave props where props are due. Didn't take care of my snowblower at the end of last season and paid for it. Went through all of this and boom, she's back in action! Thanks man.

You are awesome. I was facing Snowzilla expecting my 1 year old snowblower to fire up. It didn't. i tried everything but then today, with 2 feet of snow on the ground, I was able to rebuild the carburetor by following this video. After reassembly, it started on the 2nd try. You saved my back from great pain. You Are The Man!

Thank you! After watching this video, I was confident enough to tackle the job of rebuilding my carburetor on my snow thrower. I must have done something right because it runs very smoothly now. Thank you for sharing your knowledge!

Good vid; I'd just like to suggest you point out to viewers which way the emulsion tube goes back into the carb so it's not put back in upside down.

I really appreciate your video. I watched it last night after a big snow storm and my snow blower wouldn't start. I thought I was screwed. I followed your instructions, put everything back together, and it started on the first pull. Now I can get my cars up my driveway. Thank you!

Super helpful. Thanks. Had to custom cut a couple gaskets to replace my worn out ones (apparently they don't make the OEMs anymore). Was able to get a new bowel gasket from my local Pehrson's Power Products (thanks guys).

Good video. Got Carbutetor Kit # 798917 and parts to replace the carburetor on my Briggs & Stratton 8HP overhead valve Snowblower --- The parts came without a "Intake Arrestor" - which the instructions says is Important. How important is this component? I don't recall seeing anything like it when I removed the old carb.
@FIXTechGuides
@FIXTechGuides 9 лет назад
The intake arrestor is on some snowblowers. The main purpose is to keep very large objects out of the carb. Your blow will run great without it. By the way, they normally don't use an airfilter on snowblowers because they tend to become plugged by the snow.

I have an older snowblower with a different setup. I have a gas leak that I cannot pinpoint. The gas doesn't seem to be getting through to the engine. I seems to be leaking above the bowl. Can you help me to troubleshoot this leak. Thank you in advance.

I have toro snowthrower 2c ccr 3HP and the only way I can get it to run is by putting fuel in the spark plug socket but it only runs till that fuel is burned. I cleaned the carburetor good and put it back together, but it still does the same thing. Any thoughts?

Hi Mark, great video, gave me the knowledge to install my own carb rebuild kit!! However, once it's all back together and running, the throttle seems to be way too high. I have since taken the carb apart again and watched the vid several times, I believe everything is back together correctly. When it's running and using my fingers to move the throttle linkage all the way to the right (when standing behind the blower, from where I'd be pushing it), the throttle goes down and sounds like what I'd expect. But it doesn't stay that way, it seems to want to move to the left (outside) the way the spring from that plate is pulling it, though the spring doesn't really seem to pull either. Any suggestions at this point? I almost have it!! Thanks in advance.

Excellent video on cleaning the snowblower carburetor. Take the rest of the day off! BTW: you might want to try using some latex gloves, so you're not bathing your hands in all the chemicals. YIKES! 50 7mil nitrile gloves for about $8 at discount tool stores. Use them all the time in the shop.

So we have a snow blower with a transmission we left gas in it an took today an they told that taking the carb apart cleaning or rebuild usually never works they said we probaly will need a new one is this true or a lie does rebuilding the carb really work
@FIXTechGuides
@FIXTechGuides 6 лет назад
Hi, if the carburetor rebuild kits did not work satisfactory, then I don't think we would ship out as many as we do. If done correctly a rebuild kit will make your old carburetor like new again.

I've owned 2 Toro CCR2000e snow throwers and the needle seats on both of them started leaking over time so the snow blower started leaking gas all over the garage. Wasn't repairable so needed new carburetor.

If using an ultrasonic cleaner, do you still have to remove the jet and emulsion tube or will it still work without removing them?

Hello, when using a ultrasonic cleaner it is suggested to remove the main jet and the emulsion tube.

Does anyone know what model carb that is?
@FIXTechGuides
@FIXTechGuides 10 лет назад
The model number for the engine on that particular Toro Snowblower is Briggs and Stratton 084132-0120-E8. The part number for the Carburetor is 801396. This particular model used to have 2 different carbs offered for it but now both numbers have been superseded to this number. By the way, this carburetor works on more than 150 different Briggs engines.

eReplacementParts.com It doesn’t work too well on mine. The needle valve for the float leaks and its got a rubber tip, all the ones I’ve been able to find are solid metal needles. I put an inline gas valve on it so I can shut the gas off while in storage and meter the flow when running so it won’t flood the engine, but I would really like to fix it right.
