Thank you. The repairer changed the gear cables but it didn't resolve. So I asked to repair this component in my Fiat Bravo and they finally repaired. Very good.
Hey man, my mechanic man said fixing that hardness of the lever cost about 250/300 EUR, i was just surfing on RU-vid and saw your video. This is the best, you are the best, i start to go to your other videos now, keep up the good work 💪💪
Sometimes you need to replace the two plastic bushes if they're badly worn or split ( high mileage car ) but if they're in good condition a simple clean and grease as you did is all you need to do but the bushes are very cheap so often worth doing those as well.
I'm so glad you mentioned the battery removal and replacement because I've done it... screw that.. I needed a chiropractor after that.. This is NOT a single day job. This is a weekend job. You need to take your time replace broken parts, rubbers etc along the way and getting some of those battery tray screws in is mortifyingly difficult. But I can see it has to be done if you want a decent gear change.
clean this part with 2000 und 3000 wetsandpaper und lubricate it with PTFE or Ceramic Paste additonal there is a repair-kit for the gear lever unit inside the car.
I'll make the comment that to clean and polish without sandpaper, I found Autosolv (from Germany) does a much better job, and more quickly...and more shiny too. The arm once polished and lubed was both tight and smooth on my 156, as if were a bolt action on a rifle. Its also drastically easy to get to in the 156....
Can you share the names of those parts that need cleaning so I can tell my mechanic what to look out for? just bought a GT and it's a nightmare to change gears.
Nice guide, I drive an Alfa 147 for 3 years now and have already do this 2 times. Now I have problems with my clutch pedal, it is hard to push it... Do you know what should I do?
Make sure that both clutch cylinders are in a good condition :) But the most common issue with hard pedal is caused by a rubber bushing that is located where the clutch lever enters the gearbox. Put a very little bit of grease on that bushing, but make sure you don't grease the clutch itself :)
@@edLambshanks i found in another forum(www.alfaclubvic.org.au/forum/index.php?topic=18701.0) that this could be because of worn out engine mount. When changing oil i noticed one. And mechanism of issue becomes quite obvious. Transmission have little play (few cm) and distance required to move gear shifter varies a bit. I already changes gearbox oil. So in next step i will restore engine mount with polyurethane. If i succeed i will make a video about it.
I did this way today but it did not help. What else could be the cause? At me, this screw 17 was hard to enter into the hole I had to use a lot of strength. Do you have any idea?
@@bekuadii I think you just said it yourself now, the bolt is sticking still, the idea of this process was to sand off all the rust and debris and lube up the shaft so it moves smoothly. If it is still sticky shave off a little bit more or if it is really bad you might need a new part.
Using sandpaper or any kind of abrasive seems wrong, it could creator rust entry vectors on an annoying to get to part, but then I'm paranoid so I'd dump it in a bucket/tray of carb cleaner or something.
@7:26 there is a plastic top hat bush in the hole. These can be replaced. Good video. See newalfaparts.co.uk/home/308-gear-linkage-bushes-top-hat.html?search_query=gear+bush&results=130
Hi! when I watched the tutorial (9:50) I noticed that when you put the reverse gear ... instead of the ashtray / cigarette lighter you put a screen with the image of the reversing camera ... would you do some "DIY" of it?
is it sat nav in the ashtray? i was thinking on fitting sat nav (or connecting obd2 and putting some old smartphone) in ashtray, how did you connect it can you do a video about it?
I washed my Alfa Romeo 147 body and Engine, while it was ON or Engine running, and after one hour I put OFF the engine and when it dried up and started the car normal, BUT it refused to change the gear from Neutral to either 1st or reverse gear but it start normal. If someone is there to help me out what could be the problem because this happen after washing the engine. Help me out. Thanks Peter
i have an Alfa 147 1.6....my gear stick will not return to neutral and i cannot get 3rd gear sometimes.....so if i replace my bushes will it sort my problems ?
Hi, great video. I have some problem with 3rd gear. it's vibration when I engaged 3rd gear and over 2000rpm. If I accelerate the car, will vibration even more. but only in 3rd gear all the rest is good, no problem. Any idea?? thanks!!
Can this solve my 6th gear popping out? Because mine gets out when minimum changes of acceleration makes it move , and every engine mounts are new, also the 5th gears moves the knob but doesn't pops out, can be the problem around there? If you try to keep the gear in, with the hand pushing the knob you feel a knock knock that finally u feel very bad thing pushing it. Sorry 4 my bad explain.
If it's not the gear lever issue, then it could be bad oil in the gearbox. I had problems putting it into the 6th gear. I changed the oil and the problem disappeared eventually
Any solution for this problem, please? If I don't fully press the clutch down when shifting gears, the car starts revving up on its own, and the tachometer stays at 3000 RPM. The problem is only resolved when I disengage the clutch, pull the car over, turn it off, and restart it.
