Yup, the 153/169 socket is the one we use for all repairs of Sony and Hisense eMMCs. Obviously, it can also be used to program eMMC chips on the mainboards of Sharp, Philips, LG, and Vizio branded TVs but we don't often see as many problems with those eMMC chips for some reason.

The only way we have ever done it is by taking it from good working mainboards. That's the only way we know how to do it. If there is someone out there that provides them, please let us know.

There is a way but it requires soldering half a dozen extremely small wires to the circuit board and an advanced/expensive programmer. We also often see the IC chip fail on a hardware level. In this video, we had a bit of an exception, but that's why we stated even if the IC chip still reads as a good chip as it did with the one we fixed on camera, we replace it anyway because we know it's at risk of failing.
