Found this and was so excited the issue would be this easy, but alas - I found no cracked solders. I even popped off the YSUS and ZSUS with everything looking fine. No burst or swelled capacitors that I can see. I have a 60PA6550, but my issue is slightly different. Will power on and get picture and video. After maybe 10 min, it clicks and the power cuts out. Turn the TV back on (from the remote) - no screen, but sound. If I leave the TV off say 20-30 min, it will power on with audio/video. It could go hours working fine and I turn it off for the night, or it will go 10 minutes....CLICK. Powered off. Power on. No video but sound. Thoughts of what could be "tripping it to power off" and no video but audio when powering it right back on. Short on the main board??? In fact, it literally just did it while typing this comment!!! No signal was cycling on the screen and then powered off. Red light on the main board dark. Was on 10 min or so.
Hi @NicksTVRepair, I just called the number on your website to ask questions regarding specifics that weren't mentioned in the video. I was instead responded to rudely with "I don't have time for this" and was told to end the call. Is there a way I can talk to someone about questions I have regarding my specific repair situation? Is there any way to message or call you directly? Thank you!
Hello, I am very sorry this has happened. When you call you should be greeted properly and not rudely. We did have over 150 inquiries that day via email, and the phones were ringing for a few hours straight so we were extremely bussy, but that is no excuse to be treated that way. You can send a message in the RU-vid comments, I usually check them personally once a day or two days depending on how bussy we are. (been a bit bussier lately) Again I opologize for the way you were treated, if you could provide me the name of the person you were speaking with I will make sure to speak with them so that this does not happen again
Hi Nick, Sony xbr 55X900C , I removed pin number 2 and put it in pin 9 grnd.as per your video but it did not resolve the issue, android logo comes and TV shuts and has 4 blinking lights. please advise any other quick fix possible . thanks
Hi , I have a sony kd65x8500e . It stucks on Sony logo forever, hard n soft reset didnt help. I was trying to upgraded firmware by USB Drive only can do rebooting after finished. Is it the mainboard or power board faulty ? Thank you
Hi Nick I have a UA65HU9000RMXL with a BN 94 07755 U One connect box, I have been getting some lines in the display with a green shade. At times I get perfect display with no lines and no discoloration. When nothing is playing and the one connect box is disconnected "the connect box" message displays perfectly with correct colors. The local service centers told me display is fine but one connect box is gone. They said no replacements available, is this something that can be fixed. Thanks
great video, I have a dead 55x800h, I checked the 3.3v and 12v were ok but no TCON 12v, I jumped the power on and icon on with 3.3v and tcon 12v was there. so power supply was ok I guess my issue is the main board. my question is after replacing with a new board, does tv need to be software upgrade or restore it for the new board? is the board compatible with different size? like a 55x800h will work with a 65x800h? will still need a software restore after installed? or if I send you the mainboard do I need to restore the tv software or after the repair is just plug and play? thanks
actually I just fixed it by changing the mainboard. I was able to find a 65x800h board, the tv works fine now, the only thing is that after I reset to factory, it shows 65x800h, any way to flash or upgrade to become 55x800h I know I can just change the name but any way to do it permantely? thanks
Hey, I found your video via a reddit forum after searching for a fix to 4 flashing red lights. I tried the usb with the renamed file and I got the updating screen. Then it stopped and tv blank again, back to red lights. I tried again and now the usb flashes but no update starts, no update screen appeared and no white flashing lights? Do I just leave it for 8 hours and hope or is there no point if I don't get the initial white lights and update screen again?
You have both mad soldering skills and the hand-steadiness of a surgeon. I actually completed this repair once about five years ago, but now need to do so again as the connector has again come loose. Did not realize that the two rows could be bridged, which should make this repair both easier and more permanent. Great information!
For this model when it goes dead, everytime that has been the mainboard failing in my experience. I have a video that shows how we fix that. The model is slightly different and the symptoms are slightly different but it's the exact same component that fails and thus the repair is the same. If you are interested in seeing how we repair it here is that video below ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-HZLE3wZq4iY.html This is an advanced repair, most people opt to remove the mainboard from their TV and mail it to our shop for us to fix. We do offer a flat rate service with a 1 Year warranty. Let me know if you have any questions.
65X900E here...just started losing picture randomly, as well as some minor ghosting toward the bottom of the screen (a single partial copy of present image/text justified toward the bottom). Backlights still on, sound is fine, indicator light is fine. Comes back after a power cycle, but eventually loses picture again.
It's possible it's a mainboard failure but it could also be a screen failure. Check out this video, it might help you fix the TV if it's a screen failure ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-pfrRhw7-ZII.htmlsi=024jbWbmjoFgpyCu
So we have the software saved and uploaded to megaupload. I will have a link to our website with the flash drives pre programmed ready to go but if you don't want to buy the flash drive from us you can still download the software yourself. Again the link to the free upload is on our website linked below nickselectronics.com/products/4gb-c-d
I don't think you can get them. But if you want to send in your mainboard for us to fix, we can repair your mainboard. We offer a flat rate service with a 1 year warranty.
Thank you Nick! we had those symptoms turning off/on then no power red light. Took our 60f8500 apart and found DS832 solder joint cracked. Shot you an email earlier inquiring for repair work but everythings fine now. knocking of wood
Hello, We received about 70 emails this weekend, we are trying to get through as many as quickly as we can, but we may not be able to get responsed out to everyone until tomorrow. If the issue went away it most likely is from the movement of shifting the TV around and removing the power supply to check on it. The fault has not been resolved and will most likely manifest again soon. I would recommend avoiding using the TV and in fact I would recommend disconnecting power from it and sending it sooner rather than later as the damage could get worst and cause more damage then there already is.
Hi my Sony x-90j When rain falls Motherboard got damaged and then replaced from service centre they cost me around 200$then again next time. after a year i removed plug from tv but still motherboard got damaged after a rain fall The thing is to my tv their are connections like Wifi cable and then Dish cable How to fix it please tell me m from India
Sorry it sounds like you will most likely have to replace the mainboard. When it comes to water damage the failure is going to be unique everytime. I can't help you diagnose this and would recommend replacing the mainboard again but also then making sure rain can't get to it anymore
Hi Nick - i have a 850 G -65 inch from costco purchased 10/2019. I tried grounding pin 8 (BL-ERR) but didnt work. It won’t even power on. When i put pin 8 back in the ribbon cable,it powers up but then goes to six red blinks. Not sure what else to do?
My LG C1 65 made a loud click sound while turning on . Now its completely dead no light no sound ,anything. Is it the same problem ? What do you think ? My TV is only 30 Month old .
That is a bit strange. I can't say I am as familiar with the C1 models even though the boards are similar. If you take a look at the back side of your mainboard, do you see a dark brown spot like we saw on this mainboard we fixed in the video? If yes this would confirm the mainboard is bad. If no, then it wouldn't be conclusive because the mainboard can fail without overheating the processor so it still could be the mainboard or something else. If you want to send in the mainboard we can test it and diagnose it, and if we can fix it we would charge the same price as the OLED55CXAUA since the repair will probably be the exact same.
Does the OLED55CXAUA main board work for 55CXPUA models? I am not familiar with the differences, interested in purchasing one/sending mine to you for repair
We can fix both the CXAUA and the CXPUA variants. If you have a CXPUA version you can purchase this repair service linked below: nickselectronics.com/products/oled55cxpua?variant=48668672426260 If you have any questions, don't hesitate to reach out
@@NicksTVRepair Than you! It turns out it was the external power supply. Even though the green LED was on, it had failed. I had another 415+ and I tried its power supply on this unit and it came up....
Wow thanks for sharing this info. I have fixed a lot of these units and while I have seen some of the DS412+ have failed power supplies I had yet seen a DS415+ with a bad power supply. I will make sure to keep an eye out for that moving forward.
I know your showing a different issue here but i thought id ask you anyways. Ok tech question. Im working on the same tv and just replaced the emmc chip. No netflix now. I talked to a few of my techs to get an option on why doesn't netflix work after replacing the tsop chip. No one can give an answer. I personally think its because information gets corrupted when copying the chip because it wont transfer the user name and password on the original chip for netflix. It's Encrypted data. What's your opinion ? I wish i knew what bytes of information are responsible for netflix user name and password have this figured out. Something is definitely wrong with the bytes of information stored for netflix.😊
This is partially correct. You need to have special access to a part of the eMMC that is encrypted and you need to enter proper license key info that will match with the CPU keys as well. This is not something that you will be able to legally do on a small scale. We have fixed over 2,000 mainboards with eMMC repairs, all suffer from this Netflix, Prime Video, and RU-vid Premium (not the free RU-vid, only the paid one) and the easy workaround is to tell your customer to simply use an external streaming device such as a Firestick, Roku, Chromecast, Apple TV or one of the many other devices you can use to access those apps. This will #1 not only offer a better experience for your customer, as the native apps are always inferior quality, and #2 will also put less work on the eMMC chip and thus extend its life. (the second part is speculation, I have no proof but it sounds right haha)
Need help/ tips ASAP Last night I was playing games on my Samsung plasma (2011, PS64D550C, 64 INCH) and while I was playing, the screen went black with a pop and I think there was a spark. I’ve unplugged it and replugged it but the red power light does not show. I’ve unplugged it again for safety reasons. But I’m wondering if the tv is salvageable or if anyone knows what type of issue this is. Maybe it’s a blown up capacitor? I have no idea
Capacitors don't usually blow up like that. If you heard a pop and spark then you will have a fault with either your power supply or one of your sustain boards. Do you have a multimeter and know how to use it? If not then I won't be able to help you unless you send in your boards for us to diagnose. We charge a $20 diagnostics bench fee per board.
Hey Nick and co. I have a KD-65X9005C 3D tv. I had some LED vertical lines popping up on the right side of my screen last year, then I got 4 blink code and tv would not go past load screen and just shut off. I took your advice and moved the cable to earth to stop the error code from signalling to the power cable to shut down. This worked great and after a month even the vertical lines went away. This lasted 8 months. Ow they are back but like 4 lines now of different colours. Any ideas what to do here. This is the last best 3D tv and I don’t want to lose it. Any ideas what it could be?
4 blinks is LED failure. If the grounding of the fault is no longer enough to get good picture on screen You will need to replace your LED strips to fix this fault.
@@NicksTVRepair Hello i’ve watched a few other videos and they disabled the function saying it was the rear light. When they disabled it the tv came on but i don’t know how well it worked.
changed backlights all light up put all together comes on but still goes back top 4 blink error is there a reset procedure these sonys drive me nuts lol xbr49x950h Thanks from Joe!
Oh never mind I just looked up your model and it doesn't have the driver board that we see failures with. Sorry your model has an LD board that doesn't actually ever go bad. At least I have never seen or heard of any fellow techs having to replace that one for this model. It's going to be the LED strips that need replacement for sure
When you say no standby signal do you mean no power. Not even a standby light? I would recommend you check out this video as it is more clossely related to your set I believe: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Y00I6rx70j0.html
Depends on the extent of the repair required. Anywhere bettween $89-$190 depending on the board, the repairs and testing requirements. Some are much more difficult to repair than others and or require more prep work and or testing. What model TV do you have? Are you looking to get this repair done?
Wow, I just fixed my LG CX 65 last night after watching this video. Now the TV works. Also, where did you buy the pad or do you have a link so I can buy one? 👏👏🌅
How did you fix the mainboard? Do you have a reflow machine available? The freezing is only a very temporary fix so that you can confirm the fault and is not meant to be a repair. As for the pads you have to buy them usually at a 100 piece minimum order, and we get them from our suppliers overseas. Before I sell you one, it would make more sense to ensure the repair was done properly. Can you give me more information on how you did the repair?
@@NicksTVRepair oh, I cleaned the old thermal paste and added a new one. As of now, it's working well. Also, I noticed less heat on the back. The TV problem was it would turn on then after around 30 minutes to an hour it would start to flicker and turn off again and be in a loop. After researching, I believe it was overheating but no burn spots on anyone on the board since it has very low hours (1874) for a 2021 TV. But now it's been running since 7:24 am CST and it's now 927. But going to add that pad next when I ordered it.
Mhmm that is interesting. I am curious if that is going to be enough or if the problem will come back. If you want us to send you the thermal pad, send me an email directly to our support email support@nickstvs.com asking to purchase one of our 15mm thermal pads and we can communicate via email from there. I probably wouldn't charge much, $5 for the pad + what ever shipping will be.
