You nailed it. Thank you. Replaced the o-ring with the size you mentioned in the comments. Perfect! These machines are very well made but purposely built to be thrown away hence not being able to buy the o-ring from the manufacturer. Your channel saved me $200.00 and gave me satisfaction for beating our throw away culture. Thank you!

Thanks for the hints about catches. I dismounted mine, washed everything (god, the white nozzle was so dirty!) and put parts back without even changing the O-ring and leak is almost gone, in fact letting the internal pressure drop with a clean nozzle seems to be sufficient for the gasket to become watertight again... I Could Do It !

For anyone having a hard time detaching the second part of the outer shell: Inside the hollow part where the used cups fall into there is a part in the middle with a bit of an angle. This is a wedge holding the brewing unit tight to the shell. You have to lift that part below and pull out the wedge, so you can remove the shell. I found it in an online manual, thankfully before I ripped the shell apart out of frustration

Thank you for putting this video up you gave me the confidence to have a go at fixing my Pixie. I was nervous to take my machine apart but it was so leaky it was barely useable so I felt I had nothing to lose. It was a frustrating process taking off the casing but I watched your video (some parts several times!) and part of another. I am so happy to say that it appears to have fixed it for the £2 cost of a bag of assorted o rings (and a few choice swear words). It's such a shame that the part that is most likely to need replacing and the part that needs the most cleaning is so deeply buried inside the machine.

This sorted me right out. All I had to do was clean the tiny white plunger as sediment had built up around it and it couldn't produce a good seal. This meant the high pressure was creating a back flow into the main body of the machine and was pouring out the bottom. Great video!!

Thank you so much! The o-ring in mine had been displaced at some point, probably when we moved, so between that and the ghastly residue in the white nozzle barely any water or coffee made their way where they were supposed to. Got super stuck halfway through the disassembly because I didn’t notice we had to remove the wedge at the front, luckily someone in the comments mentioned it, but other than that everything was perfect. The funniest part was how quickly everything snapped back into place after spending SO mich time prying it apart...

I’d check area around where the capsule is pressed maybe some old coffee is preventing a sea other wise check where the water is coming from. Ie inside the machine or from the capsule area. It all depends which machine you have as they are built slightly different. Hope this helps. You can do it 👍

Bought a 2nd hand for cheap with a leak during pumping. Did not know what it was. Thanks to your clip and two others I could take it apart without breaking anything. After opening I just traced the chalk trail from the leaking water, which lead to that black cap with the chalk on the bottom, which is the pressure regulator. Unscrewing that thing is prevented same way a tie wrap works. Cutting that thingy away I could unscew it, de-chalk, and put it together with vaseline on the silicon edges and moving parts. Thanks to that lube I could screw it tighter than before and after test, the leak was gone: that saves another 15~20 euros.

Hey, first of all thanks very much for the video it gave me the confidence to take apart a machine I was just gifted. I have just totally disassembled the unit and stripped it back to the samepart that you got to and ordered the O ring. One thing to note the O ring doesn't look damaged was yours just loose as I think mine is as well? I am just wondering in case it is something else, however everything else is totally clean and there is no sign of historic water drips inside the unit that I would have expected if the o rings had perished inside the 2 water pump connectors!! once again many thanks!!!

i've done the same, it certainly did not want to be stripped down, however you didn't mention the perforating disk that puts holes in the capsules, mine was plugged solid, hence building up pressure and creating a leak, people should be doing the chemical clean regularly and this blockage would not occur, problem i now have is its extremely noisy for the first few seconds untill it appears to prime itself then go quiet, any advice most welcom ??
@YoucandoitwithJules
@YoucandoitwithJules 6 месяцев назад
Hi that sounds like the water is draining out and having to prime every time. That leads me to think there's an issue with the rubber seal at the bottom of the water container connection. Maybe when you reassembled it's not seated right ? Keep us posted , you can do it 👍

Oooh I was doing so well, I was down to removing the plunger at 7:50. Unfortunately you didn’t show that step! I didn’t realize that the big spring is compressed behind the plunger, and in trying to release the two clips, one broke. There’s no way to recover I’m afraid, as that spring applies a lot of force and just the one clip won’t hold. If anyone else tries to follow this video, compress the plunger really hard, like you did removing the two side arms, before trying to release the plunger clips.
@YoucandoitwithJules
@YoucandoitwithJules 3 года назад
Hi you can still fix don’t give up. If I remember right the piece you are talking about ( part that presses against the capsule.) One of the clips on my broke off after I took it apart the 2nd time to make a better video. I have it all working despite the broken clip. You can do it.
@bridgetgraves1032
@bridgetgraves1032 3 года назад
Thank you for the reply. I’m thinking about clamping the plunger in and epoxying the clip in place, letting it cure, then releasing the clamp. If that doesn’t work I’ll just try the one clip approach!

My Nespresso machine was leaking into the tray. Even after de scaling the machine the problem didn’t fixed. Brew coming out of it. So I used paper clip into the nozzle of my machine. And then after that I hit the machine against the kitchen table. A lot of brew was coming out of it. Also led some water through it. Repeat it a few times. Apparently the nozzle was so clocked with coffee brew that it was blocked. So the water escaped through the back and into the tray.
@SvenAERTS
@SvenAERTS 2 года назад
Please disassemble the press plate that perforates the capsule and has tiny holes to let the coffee through. When too many of these tiny holes are clogged, so much counter pressure is created that the coffee seeks another way to get out: out of the rim of the capsule and in the drip reservoir.

Did it then, however, though time-consuming, and it improving, I think the ring I bought is too thin, I did get a much thicker one but taking account of how long it took to get it all apart, I thought I'd try with the thinner one in case the thick one was no good and I'd need to do it all again, nonetheless, I will need to do it all again but I do now know how it goes. Coffee as it should be but still way too much water in drip tray. Not a waste of time because if one ever goes wrong again I'll know what to do. O-ring size I put in, that looks identical to the original measures: 32.00 mm x 3.00 mm, thick one I did not use yet is 28 mm x 4 mm, when I tried out the thick one I was half rolling it on, resulting in it rolling back off, so I didn't trust it even though I did get it on by stretching it gently and rolling right up onto the barrel and back down. One big error: I ruined 1 of the 2 horse jumping fence-like tabs either side of the brewing barrel, the barrel you show with the white pointed arrow part that only fits the one way, wondering now if this is fatal but, I don't think it is. So fragile these parts, I think a screw-in barrel would be far easier. Thanks a lot for your video

PaulJT7 hi good ? I glued it first time and it broke within 2 weeks. Then I Drilled out the plastic stub stuck In the brass bearing center with a 2.5 mm hole. Then drilled a hole in the plastic arm and ran a m3 bolt thru the arm and screwed it into the brass bearing plastic Center. Glued it as well and its held up fine. Hi, I went to local agricultural hardware store but most hardware store should sell o rings. I bought a 32mm internal diameter x 3mm oRing which fitted fine. Take your old one and find a suitable size. You can do it 👍

Same problem here, it seems really stuk in that second cover piece and I can't take off the black ring unless I remove that part. Afraid I might break it.
@h.s.1113
@h.s.1113 3 года назад
@@sebastiaanaltingvangeusau1486 If there is an easier way I didn't find it. I got mine off by first releasing the two clips you can see on the open side. Then separate the "inner workings" as much as you can from the other side and try pulling off the black spout cover by pushing it towards the side that is still clipped in. You may have to reach in and pry the other two clips open as well. Swearing may help. When you get to the point of removing the insides, there is another catch to release. Mine did not want to pull out with just hand strength (mine or my husbands), but came out very smoothly once it was gripped with pliers on the vertical piece below his thumb at the 12:51 mark. (yes this is during his reassembly, but was the first spot I saw that I could easily reference a good description of where to grab. This video seems to fill in some of the gaps of the one above: trshow.info/watch/3hCBWG5VTKI/nespresso-krups-pixie-replace-pressure-valve-disassembly-leaking.html. The good news is I did get everything cleaned. The bad news is that it is still leaking....and after breaking 3 of the outside clips (our machine is probably 6-10 years old), I am not sure it is worth the frustration to try and take apart again. Another one will be gong on our Christmas list.

I spent 1.5 hours at this machine now, but at 4:50 i lost it.. I can not get 'the whole unit' out.. My machine looks te same but it's a Krups Pixie.. Maybe this one has some more hidden tabs? I already pulled so hard i cut my hand open. Unbelievable they made this machine so unservicable! I putting it back together, and it will probable still leak :-( Thanks for you effort anyway!

Good video, but still too much hassle for me, as I neither enjoy DIY, nor am I a good at it. So basically I will throw mine out. Bough and old cube on ebay, those used to last longer. Mind held 8 years, my pixie 2,5 years. One would assume they make enough money through the coffee, but they want you to buy a new one every 2 years.
