I just ordered this part to try and fix my maytag side by side myself model # MSD2550VES00 , I noticed one afternoon it wasnt cold had to toss everything, then i unplugged it and turned it back on the next day, just playing with the knobs turning the fridge part to off then back to cold the fridge came back on and got cold...but then it went off again. hopefully this fixes it thank you
freezer doesn't defrost ONLY intermittently, so would this be the problem. I stuck a screw driver in the vent hole, (thought I heard a click) then I see the coils in freezer defrosting. is that just coincidence? I had the freezer panel off for 2 weeks, after the 1st frost build up, kept working fine, then it happened again.
What you did is manually advanced the defrost timer and put it into defrost so it makes sense the defrost circuit started working. Your issue sounds like the timer is not advancing on its own, it’s either the timer or the cold control. My first guess would be the timer, after that the only other thing would be the cold control is faulty.
Great Video! Okay, I have a cooling problem. No cooling at all and the fans are working. The bottom fan in the back and the fan in the freezer next to the coils. The compressor is running and warm. The overload and replay capacitor connected to the compressor are good. There is no ice build-up on coils. The timer, thermostat, and heater are all working efficiently. What could be keeping my fridge from working? Freon? Something else?
I’m working on this refrigerator. maytag MSD2550VES00 and the resident claims the defrost cycle stays on for like 8 hours. I’m assuming it has to be the defrost board is gone bad ?
I highly doubt that is the board you should replace the temperature control thermostat which is more common The part number for the model that you have is WP2315562
@@DIYRepairsNow replacing right now. Just arrived to the town house and the fan and compressor not even running. Once I replace it and still having issue. Not sure where to go from there
Is the compressor is running but the fan motor is not running you just need to replace the fan motor if it’s not freezing up is because the compressor is turning off due to overheating sometimes the relay on the compressor goes bad due to overheating
HOMEGUY4X4 no they sometimes they just fail and come back eventually our sometimes they just quit for good ! It’s a 10 to 20$ part so it’s worth to replace!
