Thank God for you Hameed. Your video helps me very much. I ordered the jazz part and Im confused but at least I'll have the right part. I must watch again. Itii be my first time under the hood of a fridge. You are a friend and I pray God blesses you big.
Fantastic video Hameed . Easy to follow. Thank you. My fridge stops cooling about every 2 to 4 weeks, but the freezer works well. I use a hair drier to defrost inside the freezer. Takes me about 5/10 minutes and it works again. I will try to get one of these boards cause thats what it looks like the problem is. PS, I liked and subscribed. Thanks again
Oh sorry for that part , if no continuity you need to open the freezer compartment apart and check your defrost thermostat and heater for continuity one by one 😀
I have to say, you are the most informative and seemingly knowledgeable technician I've encountered! Super video production. Question: why wait 24 hours after control board replacement...is it to just clean out any ice build up on the freezer side?? Again, great video - thank you!
@@hameedwafaAFG Ahhh...thank you. Hameed; did you replace the control board because this model/type of fridge doesn't have a separate defrost timer?? I have the same type of fridge and notice in my "repairs" that I have never seen a physical defrost timer? I suspect it's built into the control board on these?? Thanks again!
Good tour on how to unsnap the modules although the noise would scare a first-timer. So when you heard the cat you knew the problem. Do most boards cost several hundred dollars? This one seemed cheap, and glad of it. Thank you for the confidence builder.
The continuity test did not work in my fridge. I don't now if the defrost thermostat or the heat element is not working. Does anyone have any idea about other tests to confirm what is going on?
Were these Maytag's built by Samsung? Looks like some of the early Samsung Fridges. Great fix and very informative video! I have always used "Frost King" brand window unit filters to make a filter for my Refrigerators. My coils on a 15 year old Samsung SXS look brand new. I pull the unit out every 6 months and vacuum the filter. Never understood why Fridge Manufactures did not have a cleanable air filter.
Yes but evaporator needs to be frosted and you can you can unplug it for couple of minutes to do this test . If the unit is unplugged for along time and there is no frost in evaporator you will not be able to do that .
My fridge isn't cooling but my freezer is working just fine. Im scared to try this because i don't want to mest up both. But if this is the same issue, it should fix my refrigerators problem, right? Thanks
Question: I have a Jenn air fridge, had warm air in fridge and not cooling. The control board doesn’t lower temp, it stays same. Noticed compressor wasn’t on so replaced starter relay and cleaned coils as well and it’s still warm (but now I hear the compressor which stays on for hours). No ice build up and I can hear fan too, but it’s still warm after 12 hours with compressor running full on. Do you think is thermostat or control board? I appreciate your help
@@afzalshaikh2128 after cleaning you need to turn off the fridge for at least 12 hours to make sure it gets to the room temperature and then start it back again and see how it goes.
@@hameedwafaAFG I see, that even better, in fact I wrote a comment previously, and I also guess, that you may be an afghan, but I deleted it, I know most of the afghan speaks Farsee, and Pashto, but your English accent, sounds like those Iranian and also, your eyes looks like... Khomeini 😁
Lousy explanation and demonstration for resetting the controls. Not helpful. Difficult to understand you because of the foreign accent. I will move on to a video that I can understand what they are saying.
I think you did a great job thank you. How did you power it off with the light on inside, the buttons are not lit up so I’m assuming you disabled it somehow.
