How to fix rattling car speakers for free!

Thanks I fixed my rattling! I learned it could be a lot of things, from your speaker mounts, to loose wires, loose paneling, loose license plate holder, coins in your cupholder. If it can move it, might rattle haha!

Good tip, dude. I put some cheapo Kenwoods in my 2017 Mustang since the passenger side stock one died. But the adapter brackets nor speakers came with vibration dampening material so I gotta open my car doors up again. Heavier bass really makes it noticeable and I find myself skipping my favorite songs.

I just ratchet strapped my two rear car doors together tight to try to minimize vibrations. Didn’t help as much as I’d hoped lol

Sometimes stuff In your door card or the plastic cover over speaker can be what’s rattling

On my first radio wiring job I secured all my speaker wire and everything with wire nuts. Keep in mind. I also have a jeep and during the summer they got wet and made bad connections and stuff so this year I put a new radio in and I redid all of the wiring, I used butt connectors for the radio and I used marine speaker wired to run under my carpet and stuff back to my 6 x 9 pioneers those I spliced with butt connectors. My speaker still rattle. I have them in 6 x 9 boxes. They truly aren’t the greatest but they work I’ve watched this video so now I’m gonna go back and see if there are wire nuts inside my box if there are I’m going to take them out and put butt splices with tape around them, maybe that should help. I’m also wiring a subwoofer. I have my RCA ran I have my remote ran. I have my positive ran I grounded my amp but it still won’t turn on even with the key on might have to figure out what’s going on there. If anyone has any ideas, please let me know.

Taping the edge of the speaker with electrical tape helps reduce the rattling as well.

I've got a soundbar it sounds normal on bluetooth and when talking happens but then soon as I play music or play anything on the tv the speakers sound half blown

make sure you check 100% that it is your speaker rattling and not something else in your car

I've just installed 2 new speakers in my car, even though they are hard mounted to the door they rattle like crazy. It's doing my head in now. Weird I originally mounted then to the door card and they rattled less which is weird as the door card is no where near as solid as a metal door.

I have a 2017 Volvo V40 and it rattles like crazy on the rear left door. The bad thing is that I have to remove whole inside part of the door to get access to the speaker. So that'll be fun… we'll see if I ever manage to do it cause it is a lot of work

I’m questioning in my hub’s 2016 F-150 passenger door that it’s been rattling with high bass. And I don’t have the bass jacked up! I’m like one this one speaker. That door was worked on after a crash. It’s been acting funky since. Wondering if it’s the problem. It’s like I play the same song with a high bass, no problem. Same song another day it’s rattling. Wondering if something is loose.

Would acoustic foam be a better solution?

Next time try and should solder the ends and use heat shrink instead of wire nuts. There is a butt connector out that solders and heat shrinks all in one. It’s a pretty slick product.

Cars have so much plastic like the door panels and just the panels themselves, in my Hyundai it's pretty solid I didn't have any rattling and the only rattling i do have is on the front driver side door, luckily where my knee rests against the door anyway so it's a habit to just put pressure on the door label and voila no rattle, but if I don't the door lock mechanism and the handle rattle enough to notice if I don't rest my knee against it lol

Hey i have identified the issue in mine , i have a coaxial speaker , and the tweeter tower or whatever it is called had come loose. It shakes , is there any way to fix it in home or would it require reconing and stuff? I font want to get it reconed since the local shops dont do a good job and the speakers then dont sound the same as they used to.

My speaker has 3 screws and the washers are all touching the surround part. Do I need to find and use smaller washers? The speaker rattles bad

But jeeps (especially wranglers) are like the best space for a nice woofer to thump hard, I use to have a wrangler... Not with the fancy roll bar mounted speakers but did my own little system upgrade and it hit pretty hard but for some reason water was getting in to the dash whenever it would rain or car wash, and ruined countless decks it was annoying AF
