It's a common problem at least in our neck of the woods! Buy the pressure regulator we install here: amzn.to/4dDm9xN For more information visit our website Valleyscapeca.com
Thanks for the video, I purchased a house which is over 20 years old with an irrigation well pump for the sprinkler system. Front yard pop ups are not popping all the way up when using the RainBird ESP controller in the house, but when I turn the valve on from the gound box they work fine with no problems (Valves are CP-100). Any suggestions on what I may need to do to fix this issue?
I have no regulator. Our tract has a regulator that controls everyone's water pressure. Very bad sprinkler pressure here. I may end up going back to manual water sprinkler valves.
Great video, I didn't know that's where the regulator is. We have a small zoned system, maybe 10 pop ups, and what happens often is the heads pop up just a little bit and then after 10 seconds to a couple of minutes they will suddenly push up the rest of the way (all at the same time). Is this the regulator or solenoid or?
My front zones 1 & 2 seem to act like this. I don't think they will even come up on their own, but I can trick them into coming up by starting the zone manually, stopping it, and quickly starting it again. I presume the built up pressure is still there and that's why the then will pop up. I'm trying to find a DIY solution and avoid sprinkler repair costs.
@@420 Since my post I did a bit of trouble shooting. When the sprinklers first come on the house pressure drops from 80 psi to 50 and when they finally 'pop up' it jumps to 60 psi. Checking pressures past the back flow valve the system drops to about 25 and then jumps up to about 35. I started checking the heads, manually holding them 'closed' and would turn on the sprinklers. A couple of them spilled a lot of water even though I was holding the pop up down. Others did not. So I am going to replace the ones that did today and see if that fixes the problem. It's as if the possible 'bad' ones are causing the line pressure drop until they pop up completely.
@@olliehopnoodle4628 see, I actually removed and capped one or two in a zone thinking that would help a while back and it did not solve the problem. I also installed 4 new rain bird heads that rotate, still no resolve. (Example: I think I cut the zone count from 10 to 8 heads and 4 of the 8 are new. Still pop up issues.) I personally don't think replacing any remaining heads will resolve the issue. I'm sort of thinking I just replace a solenoid since it seems much easier, but I don't even know if that can be a related problem. What do you think about changing a solenoid? How did you check your pressure?
@@olliehopnoodle4628 seems like low pressure issues CAN be related to solenoids. You may want to consider starting there. It sure is easier than replacing heads. 😄 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-_LznqoR7Dns.html
@@420 I bought a cheap pressure tester that screws into a hose bib. I think I got it at Home Depot for like $10. It surprised me to see how the system was reacting. Before i got the pressure tested I replaced the solenoid which is pretty easy, I did that and it didn't help. If it was the solenoid I wouldn't expect to see the drop below the 'working' pressure before the pop ups come up. I should know today if replacing a couple of bad heads does the trick.
Hey bud I’m in Menifee I’ll be calling you Tomo, my sprinklers don’t pop up they are sixes , they only pop up half way , my home was built in 2014 I changed the valve today & added a tee to add a pressure valve im at 62 psi . And the pressure regulator doesn’t make any odd noises , any way I’ll call Tomo and set an app with u .
We just bought a house a month ago and its a new build and we got the sprinkler systems with it. Its been a month and all sprinklers are not coming up? I think its the same issue but how did you fix it
@@equimanthorn89 yes so it was the pressure issue. There are some days when pressure to low. You can reach out to your supplier and ask them when you can use and when not. Those blackout days the pressure is so low so the sprinklers dont pop up. Hope this help
@@equimanthorn89 What time do you have them coming on , assuming you have a timer ? Watering in warm weather , you could have them coming on in the AM about an hour before sunrise . They will finish when it’s still early morning and then the grass will dry out and you will avoid any fungus problems, also the pressure might be better that time .
