Great idea. You could use smoke pellets instead of burning oil. Makes it easier and safer. Get them from a plumbing supplier.

Take your brake boost hose off and go through there, it goes straight to the throttle body.

Trying to make a smoke machine is like trying to make your kids go to bed. It's a pain in the ass and doesn't always go well.

Hey there, I had a couple questions; why didn’t you use dry-ice? Does it have adverse effects on the intake system?
@BavarianandBeyond
@BavarianandBeyond 8 лет назад
+Michael Carr Dry ice "smoke" dissipates too quickly for this purpose; that's because it's actually water vapor. Also this is cheaper :)

Mike Harley don’t feel bad, I didn’t know either, I don’t own a BMW. Google says... The DISA valve is a component situated in many BMW intake manifolds, and is vital to the smooth operation of the engine. DISA stands for the German “Differenzierte Sauganlage” which basically means Differentiated Intake, and the valve for it is often called (at least in our catalog) an Intake Manifold Adjusting Unit.

did you find the pin that holds the flap onto the Disa?
@BavarianandBeyond
@BavarianandBeyond 8 лет назад
+Phillip Long Yes! It's designed in a way that it's impossible for the pin to fall out while the DISA is installed. The only time it can fall out is during removal so I was extra careful.
@philliplong96
@philliplong96 8 лет назад
that's good to know. I have been meaning to check mine just to see how it's doing but I haven't yet, anytime somebody mentions the Disa I get worried lol.
