The Graston technique is an excellent way to relieve pain. Why dont you call it by name? I would think referring to the technique you are using by name could lead to your followers looking into it deeper. Plus it would give credit to the doctor who actually developed it. You make great videos please keep up the great work and please refer to the techniques you use by name either in the description or in the video. The self education of your followers will result in a better more full sense of healing.
I'd love to hear your opinion on dry needling. I'm 42 I've had carpal tunnel syndrome for over 20 years since I was 19 doctors have been telling me to get surgery. 5 years ago I tried dry needling and Graston massage. I happy to report that I'm nearly symptom free. I'm on no meds and I dont wear braces either. I went from steroid injections and massive amounts of pain killers and still wakening up at night literally screaming in pain to only having mild symptoms and only when I do massive amounts of intense work like turning a 40x40foot garden by hand. It has literally changed my life.
@@zephyrwinkle6552 Actually: The origin and technique derived from ancient traditional Chinese Gua Sha. Over 2000 years old. Tools used for friction consist of jade, spoons, coins, etc. My grandma used to do this at home on my mom. My recollection dates back to my childhood in the late 60’s. Research Gua Sha.
Thank you for your informative videos. I broke my wrist 3 months ago. Required surgery to implant a plate and 6 screws for a distal radius fracture. After months of physical therapy with a hand specialist; I’ve received great advice from you. I tried the flattening of the hand while putting weight on it and moving clockwise and counterclockwise. Great stretch. Thank you.
@@marylee1042 you know I actually have heard of this technique and admittedly haven't looked into it much. I think I saw some pictures of some really bad looking bruises. Is this common in your opinion? I could be thinking of something else though, I dont have a very clear picture of this memory.
My mom is absolutely delighted with this. You really fixed her wrist pain at one go and now she is reminding me every minute how happy she is haha. Thank you!!!
I am always writing so I often get carpal tunnel syndrome. My hand and wrist also hurts during cold weather. The exercises help decrease pain and increase mobility. Thank you Dr. Rowe! 🙂
This self, wrist adjustment succeeded in resetting my dislocated wrist and relieving my great pain, which I have had for a month. Thank-you so much. Before watching this video; I had tried pushing on the spot on my wrist: forward, backward, downward, and sideways, with no luck. I watched ten other videos with no luck. This video showed how to find the offending spot, by rubbing and feeling the loose, bone. Tensioning, dropping the wrist; and the key: lifting the arm, gently upward, while pushing on the spot to get the correct angle and gentle leverage. The offending bone in my wrist slid toward my elbow and popped-down gently and dramatically into place; relieving my pain and restoring movement & strength to my wrist & hand. I am so thankful for Dr. Rowe's generous help. It is selfless, giving, skilled, people, like Dr. Rowe, who restore faith in America.
What the fuck ! Is all I said after I did this. I was body boxing with my friend and i threw a bad punch and my wrist started hurting all last night . This morning I watched this video not really believing that it would give me instant relief but it did . Thank you for this amazing video I was suffering now ima smoke a joint
Oh im so gonna do this! Thanks Doc! I'm glad I found your channel - you have a way of formatting and explaining things in steps and the reasons why and leaving the viewer feel like we learned something new!!
I got immediate pain relief after the first self mobilization exercise! Thank you so much, my wrist has bothered me for months from working and gaming on PC.
I'm do mma I'm very dedicated to trying to make a career out of it and I recently hurt my wrist punching, and I need to be able to get rid of it ASAP so I can continue with my training and this really helped
Love your videos they've helped my pain so much. Please keep them coming. I've showed so many people your RU-vid channel and they all love it. Keep it up :-)
Hello Dr. Rowe, I have pain on my left wrist (little finger side of the wrist) while doing any weight bearing activity. For example, If I am sitting on a chair and try to stand up by putting pressure on the arm rests or try to do push ups, I can not do those activities due to my wrist pain. Will the exercises a techniques that you have described in this video work for my situation? Thanks.
I just found your channel. I sprained my left wrist about 1.5 months ago. Not while skateboarding or skiing or hitting a punching bag like these reviewers, but falling backwards on a hiking trail while wearing my backpack. Dumb thing to do. I Landed on my shoulder and most of my weight on my wrist. I put ice (snow) on it immediately and kept it on for the last mile back to the trailhead. After applying more snow, I went home to add ice. Now all this time later I can use the wrist a lot BUT I cannot bend it enough to play my violin. Just picking up the instrument, turning the wrist to place it under my chin HURTS. When I stretch my fingers to place on the string the pinkie hurts more than the other three. (it has to stretch the most). What am I going to do? Also typing this letter is starting to really hurt., I will sit with a heating pad after typing this. Are these exercises (I didn't do the 'stick' one) the right ones for this type of injury? I could do them all but some were more painful than others. So now after running a few scales on my violin for the first time since the injury, doing these excises just once through, and typing this letter, I feel like having a wrist transplant. YIKES!!
I play guitar everyday so this video is like gold to me. These comfortable stretches you mention here are great therapy before playing and loosening up the fingers. I swear it makes me play guitar solos faster & cleaner! Thank you Sir
this guy is a godsent. he's helped with my sciatica and now this. this stuff actually works. very very knowledgeable. thanks for the real solutions to real problems
I watching this from a hospital bed with two broken wrists. I’m looking for anything to help in my rehabilitation and recovery. These methods look fantastic. Can’t wait to put them into practice 👍👍💪💪
My left hand in the carpal tunnel Something is pop up I don't know it's feel pain and burning sometimes I can't hold anything please tell me how to fix that part time to times it happens in that part i think my median nerve is not in the right place please make a short video for me I don't know how to fix ,the person who always fix my hand he passed away three years ago 😭RIP 🕊️ for him
Thank you for posting this, it is a godsend ! I have been despairing with my wrist pain (shrugged off by GP) as I’ve been able to use my hand less and less over the last 2 years. I tried following along with your video and I made some unexpectedly positive discoveries. I will do this faithfully after work each day and post an update after three weeks. Many thanks & blessings on you!
Appreciate this video so much. Thank you for the work you put into making this. Straight to the point, with clear direction, and great examples. I had wrist relief instantly after doing the exercises you went through.
Do you have any suggestions for ulnar nerve problems in both wrists and arms? I've been dealing with this since January of last year, refuse to have surgery, my chiropractor has helped me a great deal. But my main concern is I am loosing muscle in arms. I'm 71 but very committed to doing my own yardwork. This winter has given me sometime to heal, but its been rough.
Short answer yes. But refuse to have any surgeries. I guess I'll just keep doing my own thing I've been doing and maybe one day it will all settle down and I might get my life back. Thank you for getting back to me. Have a great day Rusty
hello Doc. The spoon method is genius. I had nagging pain in my left wrist for a very long time. And yesterday I severely injured it while lifting weights to the extent that I could barely sleep. I tried the spoon technique today and I cannot feel any pain at all. I cannot believe it!!! However, I will not exercise for a few days just to allow my wrist to rest. Thanks a lot Doc.
I have a sharp pain when I move my hand towards my ulnar and radial bones. The pain originates at the muscles between my index and thumb muscles. Any idea if these exercises will help? I might have sprained my wrist from overextension during bench.
I've been axe throwing a lot each day and the Championships are coming up soon so I couldn't stop throwing! I have pain in my wrist that was getting worse. These exercises - along with icing - should have it pain free in no time! Thank you!
lol i came to your channel to strengthen my shoulder so I could do push ups, after using your vids and being able to do them, I'm here again after realizing push ups somehow hurt my right wrist a little, so Im back to virtually physical therapy myself, thanks Doc
@@Zelda1UP good luck, after the stretches my pain was instantly gone, and I just did 300 push ups today :) also I do sometimes still feel the stress on my wrist but with a little stretch its all good again. Hope you get better
Thanks for this video! It gave me instant pain relief from my left wrist that was in pain for a few months, previously could not turn it fully as it was injured from a mistake in my wrist workout but now it feels fine again! Thanks so much once again Doctor!
Omg I never post comments on videos but I just had to! I got Immediate pain relief with the thumb trick! Still sore but less pain. Thank you so much. I almost Went to the doctor but you helped me.
This channel is helping me fixing basically everything wrong with my body, in the long run. I found this channel because of my shoulder imbalance. The first video I watched, already made me trust you. I think it was a combination of the confident way you talk and that every exercise can be executed on different levels. Means: without knowing too much about anatomy, I can go softly on an excercise first, to see if it helps (if it just feels a little bit better) or not. Subscribing to this channel is definitly in my comfort level. Thank you
Love your videos and easy to follow explanations along with anatomy details! I’m a golfer and I garden a lot. Both shoveling and golf kill my wrists. Question, I have a hypervolt machine and I’m thinking maybe I should run it up and down my forearms kind of like the spoon action? You gave more info and exercises than anywhere I’ve looked! Thanks! I’m hoping this works🤞
I found your short video on Pinterest, omgosh iam having arm, wrist, Right palm pain, due to my Office work. I do go for massages, but I need a Regular massage just for my arms, Right hand. I hope this works. Let's try!!
I'm in recovery from chronic regional pain syndrome after a broken wrist and looking for exercises to help mobilise my wrist and hand. These are great. Thanks.
Wait why is this recommend 😂 how the duck do they know my wrist hurts hahahaha.... However I wish this was the type of pain It’s the joints that hurt :v.
I broke my wrist several years ago. I dont know if it will ever be straight again. But this is Great exercise to help it. Thank you so much for your videos. ! 😊
I follow your video clips from neck, shoulder, arm and wrist. They are all connected and I feel so much better. I will do it like a daily routine. Many thanks, Doctor Rowe.
Wow this has helped me immensely after just the first time! Thaank you very much! Is this safe to do on a daily basis? Also, any tips on how to let me wrist heal? I believe much of my wrist pain stems from poor posture when using a mouse in my right hand and gaming.
Gosh, I was skeptical at first, but it worked almost immediately! My left wrist was bad to the point it was almost locked and couldn't rotate left. After following the steps and halfway into the video it is now not only back to normal but better than my right wrist!
Same I was doubting my apologies but I’ve had wrist pains for months after doing it within minutes the pain subsided I’ve moved my wrist around feeling no pain you’ve gained my subscription and I’ll share you with others
These feel great and have actually started helping. I got a sore wrist have grabbing a box wrong at work and since i work most of the week doing lifting my wrist doesn't get chance to rest, but these stretches actually help a lot
thank you. I subscribed a while ago as I like your teaching style and empowerment. I recently had distal radius surgery plate&screws here in Brighton UK. so now adding your techniques to my daily rehab wrist exerxises. 🙏🧡
In Chinese traditional massage these technique we called it 'guasa' ..n can apply to the whole body ( how to do the stroking for hands and legs 👉🏻 by follow the vena n artery blood circulation ..when the heart pumps out the blood we strokes ⬇️ n when the blood pumps blood back in to our heart we strokes up ⬆️...)
Hi, I Just wanted to say thank you because I had pain in my bicep, elbow, top and bottom of forearm, wrist and lastly excruciating pain in top of hand and two of your videos have helped a lot. I am actually starting to feel much better. Will keep doing the exercises.
I feel like I've been wearing my brace for too long. I had tried stretches and got some relief but the ones you have here are stretching my wrist in all different ways. I still have some numbness in middle and ring finger but pain definitely subsided. Thanks for this video. I will continue to try these stretches and the massage. It felt great!
YOU are skilled at your profession. I follow on instagram as well and you are primo. Radial deviation is where my wrist is injured. Will do your exercises. Thank you!
I will definitely give this a try. I had a cyst in my wrist for about 10 years. The cyst went away then shortly after I started getting gout in the same wrist. My wrist is wrecked I have lost about 50% of mobility can’t do push-ups wrist will not go back. My wrist is very sensitive the slightest hint to it gout sets in. Thank you for the video 🙏🏼
@Kenny Tolbert - I drink 2 ounces of unprocessed apple cider vinegar + honey every 2 days . The gout pain in my left foot went away after 2 weeks - years ago . IMO - kidney stones , gall stones & gout are not an issue for individuals who consume unfiltered organic cider vinegar .
i have wrist pain from a driving job, it is not carpal tunnel, it feels like hand and arm joint are like disconnecting or something, it feels like a sprained wrist. i ordererd some wrist braces hoping this might help. i tried some of your exercies, i did notice some slight improvements. but basically im telling you that i believe my pain is not related to lack of blood flow to the area, like with carpal tunnel.
Hello Dr Rowe! Your videos are very helpful! Thank you very much for sharing! Could you please tell what remedy you could recommend for the pain in the back caused by osteophytes on the ribs? My neighbor is 81 and she suffers from that pain constantly. Again, thanks from Russia!
This has got to be my favorite video ever. I already have better mobility a couple minutes in to doing these exercises. I’ve been doing the stretch where you grab your fingers with one hand and pull your hand back. It would only help a little but, but this video helped a lot. Thank you!
Dr Rowe. I suffer from trigger finger on both hands especially the three middle fingers. The stiffness is most pronounced when I wake up in the morning. Any suggestions on how to manage the condition? Tqvm
Amazing! I've had the worst wrist pain for so long and it kept 'going' and being extremely uncomfortable and painful. I have a very stubborn, pully labrador and he has caused many injuries. The massages were great, but better was that wrist 'ball' manipulation dodad, perfect! Pain GONE! (For now at least) Now to strengthen and look for hip/lower back remedies.
Thank you for posting this video. I work from home and in the computer 14 hours everyday. This really helped me a lot. No more pain, You do not know how grateful I am. Shared this with fellow workers too.
On the 3rd exercise, the divot on the top of the hand above the wrist is where all my sharp pain is. I can't put pressure on it or even push up off a chair to stand without enormous wrist pain. Advice?
Sir I have a pain in wrist when I hold weight horijontally any thing like dumble and a tendon beside my wrist bone fall down when I rotate and it is also making noise during rotation
I punched a friend of mine as hard as I could in the arm and last minute he moved, and I only hit his arm with half of my fist, cause my fist to bend with max force, and it’s hurt for a few hours… hopefully this works
THANK YOU SO MUCH I play beat saber and my left wrist just started to ache and pop in the joint when ever I would bring my wrist far down or roll it and there are A LOT of flicking moments in beat saber and this started happening yesterday I watched all the other videos but this one helped the best instant results and it isn’t as achy and doesn’t pop anymore and I LOVE BEAT SABER so I’ve been wanting to play but knowing if I do I could damage something long term in my wrist. Thank you I’m gonna do this every day before playing beat saber to make sure it never happens AGAIN
