Quick tip, and hopefully to save some boxes from damage, don't use steam as I saw in the video. That will de-laminate the cardboard. Just a hot iron will do as I have shown many times in my videos. Cheers

i do this all the time to the boxes for my vintage video games, nes etc, all though i like to unfold the box and lay it flat and then iron the whole thing, it works wonders

My box structure is pretty good and didn't want to lay it flat and put unnecessary stress on it. But whatever works for people is great :)

Great work. I'm not really a box collector. The only box I have is the Jabba's playset. It has a few creases on it but nothing major to the point where it needs some restoration. I still need to get an acrylic case for it.

Some good tips in your video here! I've tried stiffing these boxes by using some good quality thin but rigid cardboard, measuring it out to the same dimensions of the box and inserting it inside the box to fit snuggly. Works really well!

I have thought of doing that but I haven't found cardboard laying around the house to do just that. I found that this method work well as it does get creases out as well. But whatever get the job done, is all that matters in the end ;)

After I straighten my boxes, I use a combination of thick styrofoam packing board and strips of cardboard to keep the shape. also, I wrap them with heat shrink wrap that I bought at hobby lobby. It takes a little skill and patience and retries, but they end up looking very presentable

Nice. I did mention stuffing the box with cardboard in my video but ultimately what I did here, worked for me just fine. I also don't have a bunch of beat up boxes to contend with. But I love the concept you are utilizing. Ingenuity is everything. Nice work, Dude!! Thanks for sharing :)

I have to iron out the bowing on my Darth Vader Tie Fighter box,Slave 1 and Imperial Attack Base.That one Unfortunetly has a flap that fell off.

Sorry to hear about your missing flaps. Obviously, they are the most fragile piece on any of these old Kenner boxes. I have a Sonic Landspeeder Box that is missing both flaps and its beyond repair. RIP. Good luck with your reshaping your boxes, bud!

My tip to you is find a similar size box that will fit inside your SW box. Then fill the generic box with something solid, maybe pieces of wood so it is Solid enough to iron all sides of the SW box.

I didn't have any extra boxes laying around nor did I want to buy wood. Nothing wrong with what you're saying providing that you can find an odd shaped box that's smaller. Either way, this video was a cheap and easy fix to a common problem.

If you havent one side sealed its better to Iron it when you have both sides Open and Put it flat on the table for the Iron. Then on can use the Iron on every side of the Box you want and Put it good in shape from all sides. The Box have knicks and you dont damage them if you flat rhem in the table for the Iron. After ironing in all sides, the box Back in shape. Made this since years with my Boxes. Hope you Know what i mean my Jedi-Friend. Greetings from Germany Thomas

I do know what you mean. I just didn’t want to flatten it out and potentially put more stress on the box. The structure was pretty good, mine mainly had ‘flap’ issues. I would’ve been more tempted to do what you’ve said if my box was in worse shape overall. Flattening out the box and moving it around more than necessary didn’t feel right to me.
