If you have seen your golf club head come off and go flying down the fairway recently then in this video i show how easy it is to glue it back on. All you need for doing this is some 2 part epoxy glue that you can find anywhere for quite cheap which you can find in my link just below. This will take no longer than 10 minutes and will save you grovelling to your club pro or having to go and buy a new club.

Luke, I would recommend that you mix your epoxy before assembly and slide the ferrule over the shaft tip first.This will ensure that the ferrule doesn't slide. Also use 24 hour epoxy, as quick epoxy tends to be brittle.

Agree, and add shaft beads to the epoxy mix instead of just dumping them in the hosel. You're using way more of the beads than is typical (more like 5 percent). I'd also be sure to wipe everything down at the end with acetone to clean up the remaining epoxy residue and any epoxy prints on the head or shaft.

Hi. I've had a look and can't find. You mentioned a video where the head (my driver) snaps off. Do you have a link please. Thanks

Only thing I would change is mixing the epoxy before putting it on the shaft and in the club head so part a and b are thoroughly combined

Nice video! Just got new shafts and don’t want to wait for the pro shop to “get around to doing it”. I was curious to what that cocain looking stuff did, thanks!!!

Nice! And thank you.. Yeah you could be waiting a few weeks for it haha honestly it works really well and it lasts ages too like you don’t need to use that much of it i would definitely recommend getting some if you can

I had this happen and i had a shop repair it but if flew off the again the second swing and it look like they wrapped tin foil around the shaft where the glue is 🤷‍♂️

Same method but with a new shaft. Also, never mix epoxy the way he did, there will be pockets that remain sticky and never dry.

Does this work for graphite too?

Yes can work for both graphite and steel

Thanks for the video Luke. Noticed you were fixing a Taylormade M5, did it come off whilst playing? The head of my M5 PW flew off at the driving range last night. It's a pretty new club. Just wondering if it's a common issue?

Hi Adam, it didn’t come off on it’s own I was changing the shafts but it is something more common with Taylormade clubs than other brands. I work in a retailer and 99% of the clubs that come back with the heads that have come off are Taylormade 😂 they do sell more clubs than anyone else tho so there’s more chance of it happening to them because of that too I guess but just a bit of epoxy glue and it will do the job

@@LukeHanlonGolf ahhh yeah ok, fingers crossed it doesn't happen with the others, I had to stop everyone hitting at the range so I could run and get it 😅cheers for the help!

I've got Taylormade P790s. I've had three shafts break in the head, and authentic that has come loose.

For shaft beads I use a small amount of very clean fine sand. A pinch from a tropical fish or animal store.
@LukeHanlonGolf
@LukeHanlonGolf Год назад
Do you find that works better or is it cheaper or something?
@mikeboyd3822
@mikeboyd3822 2 месяца назад
That will give the glue a better key but shaft beads expand when they mix with the epoxy, sand won’t. ✌🏼
