I never even thought about this mod. The main usage that i’ve seen people use this for unmodded, is if they have a Focusrite 18i20, since most of the inputs are on the back. I use it with my x32 compact in the studio since i don’t want to constantly go in the back to plug stuff in! Great video!
Have a X32 Rack and ART P16. This was a solution I was looking for. Have the same patch bay and completed the job in 1 hour. Just got a SwitchCraft today and sending it back.. Saved me 98 soldering points.. I took my Dremel to score out the board.. That utility knife made me nervous.
I know this is 2 years old but some pointers in case someone else does this, you can just cut the side without the connectors and it will split just the same, with the stretchier copper layer between the different pcb.... units? the fiberglass snaps very easily. A good way to also do this is scoring it with a knife and snapping it on the edge of the table, tends to avoid that u shape it tries making and gives cleaner more decisive snaps. Also clean the edge with a knife like he did not sandpaper, that stuff will mess up your lungs. Also wish these had mousebites in the middle for this purpose but i guess this is a nice use case.
