As an adult bedwetter switching to cloth prefolds this has helped greatly! Doesn’t just apply to babies! It’s definitely tricky at first, especially on yourself but it’s well worth it over the waste and cost of disposables! Thank you again!!
I had been wondering about adult cloth diapers. Where or from whom do you prefer to buy adult prefolds? Or do you have to sew your own from muslin? I'm my mom's primary caretaker.
Im having my first baby in march 2021 and im cloth diapering.. at a store in my city, i spoke to a lady about prefolds and im doing a combination, so ill have everything when babies older as well. The lady recommeneded prefolds for newborns and youve just saved my life with this video. I feel way more prepared for the diaper system i want to use, huge relief.
I'm switching to cloth diapers because of this crazy inflation we are living through. Thank you for this tutorial. I have 30 pre-folded diapers... I think I can do it!
I cloth diapered my daughter 23 years ago but because of the Coronavirus, I'm going back to it for my granddaughter. I needed a refresher. Thanks. Most of this is totally new to me.
So grateful for this video. 36wks and 4 days pregnant with my second girl:-) I had NO idea you could fold a prefold so many ways. Thanks for being selfless and sharing this wisdom. GREAT video!
Hello I am trying to change from disposable diapers to cloth and this was the most informative videos I have ever seen and one the only ones that shows you what to do! Thank you so much.
Thank you for this video!! I'm expecting my first little one in February and have been wanting to figure out how to start cloth diapering. It's great how information like this is timeless!
I wish I found this video sooner. 10 weeks and we're starting cloth. Bought a bunch of prefolds but didn't know how to fold them to where poop didn't leak out. Thank you!
Thank you for this video. It is still very relevant today. My husband and I have been using your video to practice on a Teddy Bear before we use our prefolds on baby (when baby does come). He loves that this video is so short, concise, and relevant
Pregnant with my first child and I'm just trying to get ideas on cloth diapering because I'm completely clueless. I feel like I have such a better understanding now after watching this video and I'm so grateful! Subscribing to get more awesome mommy tips! Thank you!!
Aw! Congratulations!!! ❤ Thank you for your sweet comment. I was also pretty clueless when I first started cloth diapering. 😉 Let me know if you have any video ideas that you would like me to post. I hope you have an amazing day! ☀
Great video! Thank you! How often do these prefolds leak into its cover? Obviously a lot of factors but the general norm? I bought two wool covers and I’m wondering how often I can wash them?
Wish I had known these when I brought my preemie home. I might have actually been able to cloth diaper back then too rather than wait for her grow bigger to fit what I had. I'm tired of stuffing inserts and really want our new prefolds to work with our almost toddler.
I loved using homemade flats and rumparooz covers when my micro preemie came home. 🌸 What kind of cloth diapers are you using? Pockets? Have you tried using covers with your almost toddler. I liked trifolding the prefolds/flats inside the covers & pockets when my boys were little. 🌻
@@FaithsHomemaking Hey Faith, I'm a newbie, but I'm honestly in love with the idea of cloth diapering my newborn. 👍🏽😀 You are a huge help on my journey.
So happy to hear and welcome to the cloth diapering world, it might get addicting! 😉 Make sure to join Facebook cloth diapering groups. You'll learn a lot about cloth diapers even if you just read other peoples posts. 👍📖
Can you combine these methods with a larger blanket? Specifically the twist? I'm thinking if I pad fold and add a twist or could get way more absorbency and security
I used the twist for my kids when they were in diapers. The trick is to have the twist towards the front of the baby for boys and a little less in the front for the girls but still towards the front. Forms a pocket where the poo lands and almost never have a blowout. Added benefit of this fold is baby can have his legs in a more natural position for walking.
Hey just wondering what size prefolds are you using here in the video. I have the terry towelling 60cm x 60xm which is to big. What size would you suggest for a newborn? Your video is so helpful, thank you.
Would you recommend prefolds for newborns? I am really new and so overwhelmed with what to buy to get started. I have FST and learned to fold those but is that the best for newborns or should I buy pocket diapers? I like the idea of covers to prevent the "stink" issue a lot speak of as well as the ability to handwash in a pinch. Any advice would be appreciated. I didnt CD my boys I wish I had.
Thanks so much exactly what I need for my soon coming baby, the hospital ask me to bring another extra for disposable diaper, in my country there's a version of cloth diapers which only made of a sheet of soft fabric and could be tied but it's so thin it's ridiculous I definitely not gonna buy it All I prepare is these cloth diapers and prefold, but cloth diaper even the newborn size I think is too, idk, rough? On the 3 days old baby, so I decided to use pre fold instead, once again, thanks!
Hi! My son is about 20-21lbs and I wanted to do the angel wing fold but I’m not 100% sure if I need a long prefolds or if a smaller one (same as the one you’re using) would work. He’s a little chunky and I’m worried about buying prefolds that won’t fit around him if I do an angel wing fold.
Would you say these are best for newborns? We use fitted and pockets for my girl but I've been told that they're not the best under 10ish lbs. So looking for a good alternative for newborns
Love it! Thank you. I'm thinking of getting prefolds for a boy but I'd much rather buy one size that will last all the way, instead of buying a small size that will become useless when baby grow. Would you say a big prefold would be a problem with a newborn?
Hi Faith, thank you for the video! I just started cloth diapers at 12 months for my second son (now almost 14 months). Have been doing pad folds but poop leaks to the diaper cover unless I catch him pooping right away (I have also been doing some EC since about 3 months, but he doesn't seem to get it yet). Any fold recommendation for baby this age to prevent poop leaking (probably angel wing?). Thank you!
Great Job! I started cloth diapering my oldest son when he was around that age. 😌I personally would recommend the angel and the roll fold. I believe I have another video showing how to fold a prefold cloth diaper. The thumbnail of that video says, trim fit using a prefold. I hope it helps!🌻
After cloth diapering for the last 3 years, I've decided to try prefolds for my newborn. Even with cotton/hemp blend, it seems as soon as baby pees, the prefold is soaked, and that sits directly on baby's skin. Even changing every one to two hours is too long. Any advice for a better prefold? Am I just spoiled using pockets with absorbent wicking covers?
I know you’re probably not going to find this useful 8 months later, but you might try elimination communication. The feeling of wetness and the fact that the prefold only holds about one pee means your baby can feel that they are wet and communicate with you about it (same as telling you they’re hungry or tired etc…) so you can take them to the potty. You can still start if your baby is just barely a year old. If you’re already changing diapers once per hour, it’s not much more work to start EC and it ends up being less work as you and baby get the hang of it. Hopefully someone else finds this comment useful if you’re past this stage. Cheers!
I’m using pockets and inserts but my mom found two diaper covers at the Salvation Army so I thought I’ll give them a try as well 🤷🏻♀️ I’m unsure where to get the profiles from, any recommendations?
I love the angel wing fold combined with the jelly roll fold. It makes a very trim fit. =) Here's my tutorial on my favorite way of folding prefolds. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-qbB1ypKCIcI.html What's your favorite fold?
