I humbly thank you for answering my question. Every year thousands of tons of vegetables are wasted in our country due to lack of storage or they are used by humans as animal feed. I learned to save it through your videos. Thank you very much. Inviting you to be a guest in my house hope you accept my invitation
Or close the bag around a drinking straw and suck out all the air quickly ziping it up as your still sucking and pulling the straw out works pretty good also.
Thank you for sharing this information and also for letting people know, that you don’t have to have a vacuum sealer to freeze them! where I do flash freeze most all other veggies, never thought about bell peppers. I freeze some in halves, for a stuffed bell pepper pie, I make. That step should help them be a little more crisp instead of flattening them out, when I seal them.🤞🏼 Thanks again
Thanks! I have too many peppers. Time to use your technique. I've never frozen veggies before and I waste a lot of food. Time to get to work!! Many of us don't have a vacuum sealer. Stick a straw in the baggie and suck the air out. Voila! Job done. If you don't have a funnel handy, cut out less than the top half part of a 2 liter coke bottle or as big or small as you need. If you don't have a strainer/colander then poke a lot of holes in a plastic container.
Great content your putting out , Im 58 and didnt learn to flash freeze my items still i was 49 , so many people might not know this GREAT TIP , enjoying your content. Thank you Mrs josette Tharp Montgomery County, Texas 🙏
This video is exactly what I was looking for. You had me at how you slice the peppers, because I do it the exact same way! I like the idea of flash freezing. I have 4x peppers in the fridge and am leaving on vacation tomorrow. Currently it is -16C (3.2F) so I am going to put the peppers outside to flash freeze as I have very little room in my freezer. I will then vacuum seal them.
My frozen peppers seem to always have a bitter taste when thawed. I freeze them exactly as you do, minus the funnel, thanks for that tip! I am doing something wrong, but no clue what.
Thank you so much for giving such a great video, you will no doubt reduce food waste with this video Should these vegetables be stored in the deep freezer?
Thank you. These will store just fine in either your regular freezer or a deep freezer. Recommended freezer temperature is 0 degrees Fahrenheit in either case.
Great video man. Really loved your idea of storing the peppers. 💯😍 I just have one question that Do we have to keep the vaccum packings in the fridge all the time? Or we can keep the vaccum packed bell peppers outside ? And how long can we use them?
Thank you. To answer your question, you always have to keep them refrigerated or frozen. The vacuum sealing protects the vegetables from the freezer; the freezer protects the vegetables from spoiling. Vacuum sealing by itself does not do anything to preserve "wet" foods like this, and it would be not much different than leaving cut up peppers sitting out on the table. This really is a preparation for longer-term freezing.
I freeze onions & celery all the time. No blanching, I just cut them up & put them in vacuum sealed bags. they keep forever! They are great in any dish that is cooked.
