How To: Fully Automated Trade Platforms, and Automated Astronium to Scrap 

Thats awesome! I like to set it up as a single scrap input and then have a trade platform for each resource that senses when it needs to fire off for more :)

Lol thanks! I usually dont find the organic that bad because i rush for the trade platform. I always head to glacio before i even build a base and build home over there. Until i can get an extractor on the astronium i will just mine titanite and make medium silos to scrap or mine hematite and make medium shredders to scrap in the big shredder. So i already trade for everything as early as i can. Haha i totally agree with your point though, they need to come up with something that is diggable/ have an extractor on it that just gives you organic

@@TactileObject Honestly I wouldn't mind if there was jsut a building that maybe worked like a shredder but instead went straight to organics, like an 'algae farm' that could be fed astro, resin, compound, graphite, ammo, etc in different rations for different returns. Is organic hard to get when you need to for a little personal build? not at all. It's just a massive nightmare for automation and so in demand during automation that whyyyyyy

Astronium trading is one of my favourite changes to the game! I now have a 'hellevator' in my base so i can drop straight to the astronium level and then fly back up with a full canister of astronium, so handy!

@@TactileObject a few months later we get the trains update, so that can be entirely automated

@@wqfled for sure! Before the trains were put in though i ended up making a conveyor of auto arms all the way up from the core, trains are much easier to setup tho :)

The perfectly straight paint lines are only possible in creative, but the flat soil and square shapes are possible in survival too. Check out my 'tutorials' playlist here on my channel and check out the ones i have on true flat :)

No you can definitely do it! I have had that setup before in one of my saves, nowadays i usually just build a single line that will auto trade for any material i need and fill up storages so i have everything on hand

If you arent getting any pings from the storage sensor then it is either set to the wrong mode or just has bad placement where it is not picking up the status of the platform. If you hover your cursor over the storage sensor does it say something like 'invalid placement' ?

As long as the canister is on the same platform as the shredders it should definitely be grabbing the scrap, unless the canister goes empty and you have it set to output all of the time instead of input. If you have it set to output all the time because it is feeding other machines you might want to swap out the canister for some medium silos!

@@TactileObject I've figured out by the time you replied but thanks I had to disable output because It wouldn't take the scrap but I made a system when my train goes to pick it up it enables and disables the output each time

By NOT having it go near a shredder.

@@TactileObject last time I had it going, the timer activated the trade platform - and the tnt was on the rockets... and boom. Also I came up with a challenge - being the game with only shelters as power sources,

okay i searched that guy someone was mentioning,and his design looked really similar to mine,although mine used 1 less storage sensor! :D

@@TactileObject The trade platform doesnt activate on time, I'm sure that I triple checked your design for the 3:2 ratio. I am very confused but also maybe a lil bit stupid

Oh. Now it seems to be working. Idk what changed I just redid the target pins. Oh well!

@Ben Maatzzola it might have been that the first loading arm wasnt preloaded with an item at first. But now that it is working you shouldnt have to mess with it again. Glad its workin for you! :)

Well its worked for a few hundred ppl so far, which part you having trouble with?

@TactileObject I set up like in the video, the first set up. I connected the storage sensor to the storage, two arms, and count repeater. The count repeater set to two and connected to the trade platform, the first auto arm set to on and second to off. The first arm loads the storage but doesn't trigger the second. Am I missing something?

Maybe I need to learn the basics first. I didn't mean to sound rude.

@Gallonofstew did you give the auto arm a piece to hold to begin with? The first time you turn the machine on you have to give the arm a piece of scrap to hold so that the count will be right, so when it turns itself off it should be holding a piece. After the first time you never have to touch it again. And no worries! Its frustrating when stuff doesnt work! Lol
