Hard hainers read this!! (Worth the read) Hey bro! Solid advice! "Hardgainers" just simpily need to eat more lol I have one important piece of advice i never hear anyone talk about though! And its geared towards "Hardgainers" like myself with fast metabolisms. (Broscience incoming) Me personaly, i dont count calories.(thats just me though, counting calories provides great consistancy with your diet/goals) I am just very in tune with my body and when it needs fuel/calories. My biggest advice i give to "hardgainers" like myself is to NEVER let your body get to the point where your stomach is growling.(serious) That means your body has no calories/fuel, and its also in a catabolic state. Which means your body is currently going into your built up fat and muscle stores to get fuel so it can keep operating. Why is that so bad for a hardgainer? Because you probably dont have any fat because your skinny. So your body is forced to eat away at your muscle to get its fuel to keep operating. I give this advice because that was always my problem. I would be at work or somewhere where i was too busy to eat a meal and my stomach would be growling and in a catobolic state for way too long and be forced to go into my muscle stores for quick fuel. Does this sound familiar to any of you hardgainers out there? I combat this problem by number 1: always eat a decent amount before work or whatever ill be doing for awhile. And number 2: snacks! Carry around a real quick calorie source for times you dont have time for a meal. A pack of peanuts is great for this. Very portable and easy to eat while working. That is a problem i think alot of hardgainers have. When their stomachs are growling(body in a catobolic state) they dont act in time. They think "oh, lunch is in 3 hours, i can just wait until then" but you cant. You need to get calories right now or else your body is eating away at your precious muscle that you spent the last 2 weeks putting on. My staple is eating a huge meal before i go to sleep. Being a hardgainer like myself i dont have to worry about puting on much fat so i eat alot of food before i go to sleep. (Because your body only builds muscle when you are sleeping). I always make 100% sure my body has enough calories to get through the day and then i eat a huge meal before bed with great results : ). Sorry for the wall of text and broscience lol. If this advice helps atleast one person out there im happy lol. I went from 6'2 170 lbs to maintaining at 200-205 lbs (10-12ish% bodyfat) as a hardgainer(over the period of 5+ years). My metabolism is still terribly fast and i always have to keep food on hand to get calories when needed. Tldr: Stomach growling= really bad If stomach is growling eat food asap Btw i love your videos man. Ive been watching you since you were in korea with your dream of owning a gym and you help myself keep pushing foreward.

As someone who used to be skinny but has been putting on weight for a while, all I can say is that it's important to plan out your meals, and eat as much as you can during those meals. If u find you don't have an appetite, slowly increasing the amount that u eat over time is the best way to go And keep excersising and getting enough sleep.

Conscious effort to overeat what you normally would every day. I gained about 30lb in 4 months when I made the decision to gain weight. Whole milk and high calorie shakes in addition to what you normally eat do wonders. It's all about consistency. I did not realize just how ingrained my eating habits were until I consciously broke it every day. You can't just eat big every couple of days. If you want to see some weight gain, you need to eat a lot CONSISTENTLY. This is really hard if you wake up late or have a first meal past like 10 o'clock. Don't be lazy, EAT.

For me I combined eating more with lifting heavy in the gym. Pushing myself on machines to go hard would make me hugry daily and when I ate I would foods that have a lotta calories...I used to think it was impossible but eating 4-5 meals a day I went from 122 pounds to 148 in around 8-9 months. AND that's with a physically demanding job(letter carrier). If you dedicate yourself it can be done.

I went into Air Force Basic Training at 130 lbs, after 2 months I weighed 147. This came from eating 3 meals per day, and being stressed out and having to shove a meal down your throat in 5 minutes definitely made me want to consume as much as I could each meal. Also the stress made me hungrier. Every day I'd consume about 3 platefuls of just about everything, meat, potatoes, yogurt, veggies, fish. I put on muscle so fast, ended up getting cramps if I flexed my calves cuz we did running so much. The amount of muscle I put on in such a short time, really shocked me because I never thought I could before that

I can absolutely relate. I went into army BCT at 110 pounds, 5’5”. By the end of the three months I was up to 123. I noticed that when my body is working harder, I eat a lot more. My biggest fear would be falling out of ruck marches or training in the hot summer southern sun from not having enough fuel, so that fear also drove me to eat way more. One thing I did during BCT was add a slice of bread with a bunch of cottage cheese on top with every meal. Had a drill sergeant come up to me and be like “Is that a fucking cottage cheese sandwich? Private, thats fucking disgusting.” Honestly it didn’t taste like anything to me but it was a great little add on snack to every meal that ultimately gave me more energy and helped me gain more weight. It was incredible.

speaking truth as always. this is the number one conversation that i have with people and they dont want to understand or attempt to track food. everything you do has to be tracked and i even tell them i track 95%. i dont include condiments like sriracha or mustard or the 30-50cals from amminos etc. you will be surprised how much just snacking sneaks in unwanted calories. its a lifestyle thing. once it becomes routine, it will become the norm

Hardest part was training my body to accept the amount I was wanting to eat. The first part of the video sums it up with calorie intake for guys with fast metab. best trick is 100% the smoothies and mashing a lot of calories into a small consumption shake/meal.

Bro this is so true. My whole life I told people I can eat whatever I want and not gain weight! Even complain about it, even though I’m a girl. I believe I was in denial because I definitely wasn’t eating enough and my stomach would growl and I wouldn’t eat anything, usually for being so picky. If I actually eat at the right time I gain weight and that was one of the hardest truths to accept!

Hey im 17 6ft 135 pounds I’d like to gain weight the healthy way could someone tell me what to eat and what time of the day to eat i used to drink protein shakes for breakfast the recipes was: Oatmeal 2 table spoon peanut butter Whole milk 200 calories Molasses 1 table spoon 1 banana 20 grams of collagen peptides But after realizing it was actually bad for me to had these ingredients as breakfast apparently it spike insulin and i would always feel sleepy fatigued and tired for the rest of the day. I did some research and it was saying too much protein can make you sleepy so i stop drinking protein shakes. So now im wondering should i take protein shake 2 hours before going sleep at night so threw the night i sleep comfortably and workout to use that extra calories and trun it into muscle ? Helppp

After tracking calories on an app for a solid 4 months eating between 3400-4000 calories per day and putting on between 0.5-1.0lbs per week I can safely say I am a hard gainer, it also makes me even more sick because I lost all of that weight, total of 10lbs due to an injury in a matter of 2 months. Some people may not be eating the calories, but I was and I still struggled.

Buy bulk of: Ground beef Chicken thighs or breasts Oatmeal Bananas (probably the cheapest higher calorie fruit) White Rice (dirt fucking cheap, so easy to shovel down) Peanut Butter Spinach (for shakes, can't taste it, get your greens in) cook your food in advance and refrigerate or freeze some of it. all of these are dirt cheap in bulk. eat up!

@johnwig285
@johnwig285 5 лет назад
i aint shit bro but just trying to help. Its mostly mental. Some ppl's mental ability are independent of their physical, ive seen dudes with barely any muscles or fitness training making it. But best if u prepare to be fit as hell. Physical aspects involves long distance rucks, circuits like calisthenics + running, fast march (running in ur vest or with ur rucks), combat functionality and obstacle course. For the rucks, strengthen ur posterior chain by doing deadlifts and farmers walk, go hike mountains or hills for a few days. For the circuit training, just do calisthenics + sprinting + jogging + plyometrics + tyre flips. This is what theyll do for PT or minor punishments lol. For fast march, grab ur bag and jog. For combat functionality, train ur core n obliques, if u have an area to train, do 50m leopard crawl n sprints interval to mimic combat situations. For obstacle course, do pull ups, muscle ups and straight arm side plank. Improve ur grip strength by rock climbing and hanging on the pull up bar. Practice vaulting, climbing stuff and parkour. Familiarise urself with the weapons thatll be used by going to a fun range. Focus on the basics. Then progressively advance. Ask from experienced ppl tips on mountain warfare, geurilla, urban combat and cqb. There u go bro.
