Many thanks for this video as it enabled me to successfully execute the repair. Also sourced the parts directly from Appliance Parts Pros and couldn't be happier with your selection, prices, and shipping options.

Thanks for posting this video! My fan was hitting the shroud as I think the previous owner/repairman took it apart and didn't put it back together properly. Works like a charm now! Now on to repairing the washing machine!

Cool video. Although this is 8 years ago and not exactly the same model I have, the parts are fundamentally the same. Just fixed my fridge with your help. Thank you.

The model depicted was identical to my 2005 GE Profile Arctica. The evaporator fan was making a grinding sound and this was an excellent video on how to get to it step by step. Use a magnetic driver!!

I have a top-freezer Profile. After replacing the fan, it keeps running all the time. It's constantly on and doesn't shut off or cycle at all. The freezer temperature has already dropped below -12°F and going. According to the manual, the freezer temperature should range between -6°F and 6°F. Also when I open the freezer door, the fan speed doesn't change (as I've heard it should when the freezer door opens.) I'd appreciate any tips. I've set the temperature to the recommended 0°F several times using the front display panel, but after several hours, it's still going down. The original fan didn't have a sensor, but the new one does, and I connected it with the metal clasp to the evaporator. My suspicion is faulty sensors or the board, but I'm not sure how to test for that. Do these fridges have a diagnostics mode that can be activated?

This is a great video. He touched on it briefly, but how would you know the grommet itself was bad? Would it be because of too much vibration noise? You can't see if the grommet is worn and/or torn without taking apart the entire freezer, right? So would the symptoms just be too much vibration noise? Or is there any other way to tell it would be a bad grommet?

Does it matter which way the fan blades go? There was no instructions on how to install it on the packaging. I followed your video and replaced everything like you did thanks it was very helpful. My fan works fine and it quieter again and makes good ice. Should I worry which way the fan blades go?

***** In most side by side refrigerators the blade should push the cold air up towards the top of the freezer section.

is there a way to diagnose that the fan motor is bad?

If you have the motor out you can usually test the motor to make sure it has continuity.

I want to ask something. I am repairing refrigerators for some time now, but I didn't solve this problem I encounter sometimes. After I recoil the evaporator of the refrigerator, I test the unit and it works fine, the pressure on both sides are normal. after 5-15 minutes the pressure in the low side begins to drop to negative and also in the high side lower to about 120 psi. I turn it off and the pressures take some time to normalize. Sometime, I just change the filter drier to solve the problem, but sometimes the problem continues even I change the filter drier. what causes the pressure to drop?
