Hay man got a video idea for you, when I get a deer we go to the car wash and use the pressure washer there, you should do a video for like people that can't afford pressure washers and show them that you can go to the carwash and do the same thing you do with your bigger pressure washer, love your videos man keep it up.
Great video, thanks to you I figured out using acetone on coyote skulls and raccoon gets them to stay white! Also I’ve been doing duck and goose skulls for local hunters and instead of a pressure washer after the boil I use a garden hose with just a ball valve type end and it’s gentle enough to not hurt the skull but powerful enough to get them clean, it works great!
Really cool trick on removing the brain! I use an older aluminum arrow shaft cut to 10” long. I drill tiny holes through the last 3-4” of the end of the shaft. The holes are just big enough to allow a 3-4” piece of thick weed eater or trimmer line to be inserted but still hold in place. I’m essentially making a bottle brush using thick stiff plastic line and putting it in my cordless drill. I insert it at the existing hole for spinal cord and It liquifies the brain and can be easily sprayed out w water! Hope someone finds this as useful as I do!!!
I won't to thank you for taking the time to make your videos and sharing all this wonderful information becouse of you I have started my own European business witch has helped my family alot and it has allowed me to bring smiles to so many faces. That's the best part to me. Keep up the great work your a pleasure to learn from thanks again
Hahaha, you blamed it on beans!!! Love that you made this video, and the end(thank you),now I can prove that acetone won’t hurt the skull. As always brother, another fantastic video.
Awesome videos! I followed your guide for my first pig skull. I couldn't find Aqua Silk though and opted to buy sodium percarbonate. It pretty much turns into hydrogen peroxide when mixed with water. Much cheaper and readily available. Have you ever tried using it in lieu of Aqua Silk for whitening? If so, any recommendations on concentration/length of soak? Thanks for the vids!
Great video! I have a question: can you recycle the three part water one part aqua silk? What about the acetone? If the answer is yes, how many batches you recommend before getting rid of the soup. Thanks again for the great videos!
Thank you sooooooooo much for sharing the answer to properly degreasing. So my only question for you is then regarding deer skulls with antlers.... is it all right if the base of the antlers are in the acetone as well.
hey so ive got a question , if you find an old skull out in the pasture thats been aged in the sun from sitting so long what do you recomend to try and whiten it with out damiging it?
Perfect timing for another video Ryan, I got 2 wild boar heads for Mother’s Day and have started cleaning them... this has answered many questions I had. Thank you
Great timing upload. I just tried my first cow head today. I think I boiled it too long in the whitening process, the edges of the skull became very soft (kind of breaking apart like powder). But it's still very fun doing it. Thanks for all your videos.
Beachboy Stephen put mop and glow. I did a skull recently and forgot about it and I cooked it too long and it started flaking. As soon as I put mop and glow it soaked it in and stopped the flaking.
I've been tracking along since day one. In fact I believe I remember the comment the dude left about using acetone. I've used it on several bears and will testify that it's the cure the degreasing problem. ( that coupled with the whitebone solution) Good stuff Ryan. You're the man!
I've found your videos absolutely fascinating and I wish I had found your channel while I was still living in Texas and hunting regularly! I'm moving to Utah soon though, and I'm gonna be hunting as often as I can and I'm looking forward to using your methods to decorate my walls
I’ve been using beetles for years! I’ve always felt that boiling bone actually causes oil to seep further into it. But that was just my ignorance! I’ve done countless whitetails w/ my beetles and I still believe they have their place in that application. With that said, HOGS are a totally different story!!! Degreasing a hog after a beetle cleaning vs. degreasing one that was boiled immediately after skinning is like night and day😲🤗. I’m actually whitening the skulls right now. I couldn’t find the ‘Aquasilk’ locally but I found a product called ‘Pool Elegance’ at our local Splash Pools store in Shreveport, La. Just wanted to give you an “At-a-Boy!” You’re making some killer videos!! Love watching! I’m doing 3 gator skulls next. If you want to come get a gator to do for yourself holler at me! I’ll be ready for September 2020 season!!!
Incrível amigo 👏🏻👏🏻gostaria muito de fazer mas aqui no Brasil 🇧🇷 não tenho esses produtos que você usa na água !poderia me dizer qual produto brasileiro poso estar usando ???
wow!!!!!!!!! What a game changer. Thank you for all you do bro. I’m amazed how white those skulls are I’m going to do some this weekend and can’t wait to give it a try. Hope all is well man 👊
Quick question is that the fast drying acetone? Plus just wanted to thank you for helping me start up my side business. Love the content and your a great teacher
Can you use the aqua silk 1 to 3 ratio to boil more than one skull? or does it need to be a new batch of 1 to 3 mixture for each skull you boil? Great video btw thank you for the how to.
Great videos. Thanks for taking the time to post them. Is it common for the boar skull to start to separate when it's completely dried out? Mine is opening up along the 'seams' of the individual bones of the skull.
Hey, we just did a pig roast over the weekend and i decided to clean the skull. after geting the meat amd fat off the bone will i beable to still clean and get it white ish... I under stand you boil it but from my understanding you take the meat off before... Any hints tip would be helpful thanks
Hi Ryan, love the video. So I soaked my pig head in acetone and it started to turn black. The aqua silk is not whitening the the silk. Any suggestions? Thanks, JD
I have two questions.. But first, just wanna say i love your vids! You are the man!. #1 what do you recommend todo with a already Euro bear scull that is about 20 year old. It is kinda cracking, its flakey and discolored, dusty and dirty. Whats the process sir? And #2, whats a couple main reasons why my nose bones on deer, antelope and other goats are always weak and falling off? Please help me man! You are the dead head god!
I've had a bear in the acetone for around 3 months now. Still a little yellow on the forehead area so I'm leaving in there for a bit longer...then I'll hit it again with another boil and it should be good! Another great vid for people to see what we do! I don't do the quantity you do, but I hold my own. LOL Did 27 whitetail skulls this season, 1 bear and last year I pulled off two gators! :-) Nice work Ryan!
when you store in acetone, is there precautions to take? I live in texas so I'm wondering should i have it outside on the back porch? in the garage? keeping in mind the bright sun and heat
cat3277 : I personally have done some pretty strange dead heads that do not have any or minimum flesh. And the end result is the same from 30 year old horses to that busted up and chewed up deer head you find shed hunting. Follow the Whitebone Creations Law and everything should be ok 👍🏻
I got question, could you do European jackalope? I know it would take 2 skulls.... One from deer and other from rabbite. It probbly would be hard job to do. But if could be done that would be so cool. Please let know your thoughts.... You do great work.
I found a hog ran over in my neighborhood, waited a while for it to decay and took the skull. Unfortunately either an animal or someone took the tusks. If the tusks are cracked at the jaw, what would you suggest to hollow out the cavity?
I have followed your prior videos on on how to euro hog skulls. Can I re-boil those skulls to further degrease them using the steps on this video? Some are starting to turn yellow. They have been treated with mop and glow and hung up on the wall.
I’ve been watching your videos on how to do a hog head. I’m confused though. Is it peroxide/developer, or aqua silk? And do I use acetone for the degreasing? Help merry please. I want to do it right. I’ve got a beautiful boar hog skull and I want to do it justice. Thank man.
Hey great video. So I followed your process step by step with a boar I got last weekend, but I'm really struggling with the teeth. The top tusks came out but they will not go back in. The tooth is somehow much wider than the hole it came from. Same with random little teeth and premolars that came out, they will not go back into any hole. I also cannot get the bottom cutters out for the life of me. I've been trying with pliers and everything and they will not budge. Any suggestions?
Maybe sanding the teeth a little? I was wondering, when you did the acetone soak, did you leave the bucket outside? Shade or sun matter? In a garage ok? I'm just worry about heat and fumes being factors for safety.
Zippy I left it outside. Probably 50/50 in the shade and sun maybe a little less sun than shade. The edges of the top tusks were really brittle so I ended up shaving them down until they slid back in
On the animals that I do, inside the nose there is this “cartilage” that is directlyin the middle of the nose. For me it is super hard to get out with a pressure washer and forceps, is there a different way to remove it?
