Applied to “all positions” one random night. Got a call back the next day. Had my interview with 2 managers then my second interview with the GM and got hired on spot. Will be having orientation tomorrow!
As a limited part time employee after 2 years, I am resiging due to upper management not taking my concerns seriously. Good luck to them during holiday time
I just had my interview and drug test last Thursday, I was told the next step is for a background check then they will call me back for orientation. I’m very excited to work for Costco! I’m going to binge watch your videos in the meantime lol :) I was thinking about vlogging my interview and experience but ultimately decided that it probably wouldn’t be a professional look plus I was way to nervous for all of that😂 I do vlogs persisting around fatherhood/ pushing out positivity and motivation to all fathers and father figures also for our youth!
There appear to be two "types" of Costco jobs - either in-store or in the warehouse. You can't visit warehouses in-person, but they show up in the search.
I’ve applied to so many locations near me. I have a total of 52 applications 😂 I don’t think I’m going to ever get a call back. They ask at the end of the application if I am under 40 and I’m not. Other companies I have applied at give me a weird look once they find out how old I am. I look young but once I give them my information for background I see their faces and attitude change once they have my ID. It sucks
@@merry5059 One of the people that interviewed me told me that Costco was her "part time retirement job after my kids went to college, and here I am 7 years later as a manager." She looked to be way older than 53, as did the person checking for membership cards at the door. I think you'll be ok!
I have been seasonal couple times and the members enjoy me. Always have a smile and leave tons of positive comments about me and yet they haven’t offered me a job. Should I keep pushing it to do it because I really enjoy the environment at Costco. They told me keep on sending those applications one day they will decide on keep you than others…. What should I do? I have been a seasonal two years and most likely third time. …
I didn't get selected for hire just recently, I don't know what I did wrong specifically but one thing for I was struggling a bit especially when they asked if I could name one time I impressed a coworker of mine. I went to my interview a bit unprepared. They also said I can submit another application online.
I am planning on applying for Costco soon. I have been working at Home Depot for almost 2 years, Home Depot has actually been my first job my managers here love me and I have a good reputation at my store so hopefully this can increases my chances of getting hired at Costco Wholesale. But even if I don’t get hired I still know I have a good job at Home Depot because it is family oriented and has good benefits!
Home depot is great!! We actually have a few employees at my warehouse that came from HomeDepot, and they said they loved it there, but just wanted a change of scenery. I also happen to know a couple of managers that left Costco for Home Depot and they're happy there as well! :)
Yo i’m in you’re exact boat! I worked at Home Depo for 3 years and recently left and plan on applying as a stocker at costco, same thing here everybody loves me there and have an excellent reputation at my home depot. I used to be a full timer on the sale floor and did all kinds of tasks I was basically a supervisor there. Hopefully this increases the chances of me getting a position at costco
Thats cool ya made a video on your experience good to see some pro costco people. Have you had some bad buildings i went to a new opening one and its a good change of pace
I think I would like to work at the snack bar. And maybe get some free food on the side. I've been a waitress for years and now that I'm 66 years old I think I'd like to do some easy part time work.
Working the sample stations isn’t easy pickings. You have people constantly bugging you about the product. You have to refill samples and no you definitely do not get free food that’s the quickest way to lose your job as a sampler
Me, I just prefer dressing regular clothing. Nothing too fancy. After all, it's just a retail job. That's unless it was a professional, highly educated job such as business, engineer, doctor, etc. Either way, dressing perfectly, being judgemental about how one portrays himself or herself, etc. is the least of my concerns if I were to be a manager. All I would care about is if they are able to get the work done, not how my applicants dress, act, etc. are conservartively.
Great video, thanks for the info! I’m thinking of applying to Costco, but I’m nervous since I was fired from my last job where I worked grocery for 11 years. I have lots of experience but am worried that they will see that I was fired for giving a discount to a former employee and will not want to hire me. Any tips? Do you know of anyone that got hired after being terminated? Thank you again, God bless.
Thank you so much for the info, would be of real help , just a query, how can we reach out to manager at stores? Are there any dedicated spots or we just have to enquire from costco emplpyees?
I don’t want seasonal I never want seasonal I really want to work full time , I have an interview today they never once said if this is seasonal or not I’m nervous I really want to work full time
Funny to think anyone think you would not look professional to apply/interview for a job. I remember when all the men who worked at costco had very short haircut...No tattoos or piercings would even be thought to be ok.
i recently got called in to schedule an interview with Costco and when she was listing the current open positions she said the pay would range from $18 - $19.50 per hr depending on the job title
everyone is going to have different opinions on costco if they have worked there. if you can handle bad management i'd say definitely get a job but bad management means a bad workplace that i don't recommend. i currently work for them and they are not very good at mine
My son had his second interview with Costco and they sent him for a drug test the next day. He passed his drug test and they said they would complete his background check and then call him for orientation. How long do the background checks normally take? He has a clean background so there shouldn’t be anything stopping him from being hired.
So I applied just about 20 minutes ago. And when going to see a manager where would i find one? Should i ask a floor employee or walk around looking for a manger? And what should i highlight if i’m able to have a chat with said manager. I wanna make sure i’m able to get a call back!!
You can ask the employee at the door and they should be able to direct you to where their main office is. Managers that are better to talk to (but don't worry if you just talk to a supervisor, or different manager) are the Front End manager, Membership manager, or any of the administrative managers (GM or AGM) Things they like to hear is open availability, having a history customer service, and team player. Hope this helps! and good luck!
I applied online through costco website at around 1AM because I received mail from Costco that my application was incomplete. Next time at 10AM I went and explained that I applied recently for this post in this location. They said we are not hiring. I mean if they already hired then why do these vacancies show on the website? May be employees of that store lie to other candidates as they want to refer their friends and relatives for these jobs.
It's hard to say because every Costco manages their hiring process slightly different. They may be saving applications for spring hiring, or maybe they simply forgot to take down the position availability online after they filled up the position. Costco keeps applications for 90 days. So if you're really interested Id keep checking in to see when they'll start hiring again. Showing your interest is always good! and making sure they know who you are :) Good luck!
I am moving from Florida back to California for school and there is a Costco close to where I will live that I want to apply for. How early before I get to California should I apply? I don't want to apply, get an interview, and have to tell them I am not in the area yet, but I also want to apply as soon as possible since this is the best time of year to apply. It is August 2nd and I'll be in the area on September 1st.
Costco keeps applications for 90 days so you could apply as soon as you want to. I would say if you don't get a call in the first two weeks then give them a call and ask to speak with a manager and just explain your situation and see if it's possible to do a phone or video call interview.
i am in the process of applying online. I reach to the state of doing the WOTC form and wish to decline to do it. The instructions are to hit decline on the next screen, but I am unable to decline because there is text that says decline, but it does nothing. Any assistance would be appreciated.
I applied online a couple of times, then yesterday I went into the store and met the manager. I told the manager about my availability and she wrote my name and phone number down. She said that she’ll search for my name in their data and if my resume has their desired experience, they will give me a call. One day has passed and I haven’t received any call . Is there a chance for me to get a call ?
Yes! Give it a couple of days. Some Costco's get so busy it's hard to do things as quickly as they'd like. It's also a possibility they're waiting for the right time? Like maybe they're looking at a few people and then they call them all around the same time
@CostcoDude I had an interview at Costco on 10/5 and I haven't heard back from them yet. Not one phone call or email given to me since, should I call them to see if there's any update?
@@gujackson1 I'm sorry to hear that! :( Every manager will be different, and will look for different things. Unfortunately there is no right answer for what they're looking for. Rejection this time doesn't meant they wouldn't hire you next year, or that a different warehouse wouldn't take you.
@@CostcoDude I've applied to 10 different warehouse locations overall up to 35 miles from my place. I'm now waiting on 7 of them to reach out back to me.
@@gujackson1 I hope one of them gives your the opportunity to work at their warehouse. I was responding to another comment about who to talk to and what to say, so i want to correct myself from my previous reply. Mangers LOVE an open availability, they like team players, and will often look closely to candidates that have previous history with costumer service jobs. So when you get to talk to a manager, highlight all the strong points of your previous work history. Also, if they reject you, you can ask them the reason why and how you can improve. I did that a couple of times when I was trying to get a different position within my warehouse, and it helped me get there even though it took longer than I wanted to. Good luck friend!
@@CostcoDude that’s what i thought even by how i was treated yesterday was rude and took a bunch of screenshots and sent them to 2 of closets friends . Something doesn’t sit right with me. I kinda remember applying to Costco for a remote position. The training was supposed to be 30 minutes & it was way longer and not done. Now I have them blocked
I DID THE SAME THING APPLY ONLINE WENT THERE GIVE MY RESUME TO THE MANAGER. COSTO IS BULLSHIT. I REPEAT COSTO IS FULL OF SHIT THEY ONLY HIGHER FRIENDS AND FAMILY. THIS VIDEO WAS NOT HELPFUL
Does Costco have any positions or accept workers with disabilities? I'm legally blind. Meaning I can see, just not as clearly unless things, faces are arms length or closer. I'm 50, but I have 20 years in retail management for smaller companies. I only want a entry level position Or do they mainly hire young healthy workers?
Costco hires all ages, ethnicities, and abilities as long as they can perform the job. There's no harm in applying and seeing about getting an interview. Is there a position that you're interested in working?
I had an interview with costco and everything went well. Then they contacted my references and i had another interview last thursday Where i met the warehouse manager and he told me that i am hired but he was not having my file with him at that time. He told me that i will recieve an email to fill the forms and receive a call for my orientation. Its wednesday now and i havent received an email or a call. I am really concerned
You're having a similar experience to what I did. I was hired, then they stopped answering and returning my phone calls about setting up orientation (to which I've made 4 of now) and I quit my job to work for them. Now I'm unemployed after being told I was hired and technically supposed tomorrow. I don't even want to work for them anymore after getting d*cked around by them for the past few weeks.
You make it sound like it's not a for sure thing you have to sound more motivated tell people they can do it they will hire you man just do it go in there.

I wore a hoodie and shorts to an interview cause it was comfortable. I have tons of retail and customer service experience. I hope they are smart enough to hire me. Although I've been turned down by 2 different mcdonald's in the last few weeks so...
@CostcoDude I received an email from Costco saying that I have an incomplete job application. Although I've been keeping a close contact for any updates at the location of where the application is for, I didn't start a new application. A few people at the location where the application is for told they're done hiring for seasonals, but is this just a fluke, or could this be intentional?
@CostcoDude Hello! Thanks for all the great videos with good information! I have some questions about the application, does Costco hire people who had their education in Mexico? I'm just wondering if there will be any change in getting hired since all of my education was done in Mexico, but I have worked for the last 16 years in the food industry in the US.
