Just got back from DC for a video, next time we're going to have to get a room. One day is just not enough! Good stuff in this video. I think we're going to be strategic. Here's the thing, going in the winter is tough. We froze! But parking was fantastic. Great video! Very informative. Locking in for next time.
Pod DC. Book directly their site and get a free SmartTrip card at check in. If the rate drops before your arrival you can modify online for the lower rate. I did this 4 times and saved almost $100 on the same room. Plus Pod DC is right around from the Chinatown Metro station.
We loved the Pod! The staff is awesome. You pass them coming and going out of the elevator and they always stop wht they re going to say hello with a warm smile. The small rooms are well designed. Luggage goes under the bed. Shelves and hooks keep stuff off the floor. Comfortable bed, huge TV, clean towels, and a hot shower. If you are a tourist wanting to spend most of your time in DC seeing the sights this hotel is great. If you have more than two peiple in your group or need a full size desk and business center for work this may noy be the place to stay for you. Head on over to TripAvisor.com and read my review for the Pod DC from RyanAndTiffany.
Hotels will let you book a government/military rate that meets GSA per diem; however you do have to be traveling on business. For a general discount you'll have to call the hotels directly and ask for it.
Planning a 2 night trip mid June. Thanks for the videos Rob! Hoping to score a great rate for Thurs and Friday nights. Also planning to park at Union Station (again thanks for the tips on parking deals!)
Agreed! I like to check a few of the cashback websites because sometimes when they're running promotions, you can get a much better rebate at one than another.
