To fix the scaling of the original BMW menu - go to settings and there should be a menu where you type in 1314 and select 8". Loads of videos of this floating around.

Such a good upgrade - we fit the same BMW screens over here in the UK too!

To fix your i-drive’s aspect ratio issue, just go into the android’s main setting. And change the aspect ratio, it should then revert back to it’s normal size fitting into what it was previously

Courtesy of Redd over on M3 post. This is how to stop your Android screen from switching back to iDrive when you press the M button: 1. Settings > Factory 2. Password = 1314 3. Vehicle > MODE Key Selection (scroll down) > Disable 4. Done Enjoy!

You have to change the resolution so the old screen gets displayed normally in the settings

Hi, nice video! I have the same module as you (with DVD) in my car. I have installed a new screen as you have done, but I can't get the radio back in place. How did you get enough space for the cables in the back?

Are there any dip switches on the unit? Usually they're used to configure the original iDrive to your new screen.

Damn thanks for the heads up about it switching menus when pressing the m button. Definitely a deal breaker for me since I turn it on and off multiple times every drive.

I'm looking to do this install on my e90 328i in the future, but I do have a quick question. When I bought the car, the radio wasn't working and I took everything apart to see what the problem was and my personal diagnostic was that it overheated, because the radio proportion didn't have the little fan in the back. Would that be a reason that my iDrive screen isn't working? I would like to fix that before I spend the $ on a setup like this. Let me know, thanks! Edit: Would I be able to fix the problem if I bought a new radio, but this time the fan isn't missing? Lmao

Does the new product work even if my original head unit quit working ? Or I have to buy the ccc firts in order for it to work ?

You need the ksw unit with ksw toolkit app. You can disable unit hijacking the M button. Since you disable it then it works just like it did with just iDrive screen

I also have the ccc version, but when i press My M button it does not do that, also did you see a drop in audio quality?

How to listen to music from original tape carplay and bluetooth, if it is possible?

Only thing is some models have the pro nav so it's a tight squeeze with the 5th speaker behind the headunit

For the CCC UNIT, Do you need to route the AUX cord to center console or just moving the fiber optic cable would do? Because from SLOWSPEED’s installation, he didn’t connect the aux cord to the center console and audio works for CarPlay. I just finished installing this, the only issue I have is every time I start the car I have to connect to the car in my iPhone Bluetooth settings, also there is no E90 car select in the car settings only E60 CCC small, so my selection wheel doesn’t work is there a way you got that working?

Hey quick question. Do you know if you can still reset warnings and codes? Because on an I drive car, you usually reset them through the i-drive unit.

Cropped sceen: wrong setting in screen settings (menu via code 1314) M button: you can change the m button config with tools like KSW tools, this should solve it.
