I have included a basic guide for a training program that is mostly composed of compound movements.
Adding size and strength take times but this will greatly aid in achieving thoes goals.
Squat, Bench Press, Deadlift, Overhead Press and Rows - all quality movements.

I watched your 6 month strength transformation video from stone lift training. I've been thinking of doing something similar. Did you only lift the natural stones when you trained? Or did you do the traditional compound movements also and use the stones as accessories? Just looking for ideas in my training! Much appreciated!

Great video man . I do deadlift, squats , rows , bench press , overhead press , farmers walk , and curls in a single day . I do this workout 3 times a week . I personally see a lot of results . But i want to know whats your opinion on my programm
@LairdRoss
@LairdRoss 2 года назад
I would split it up and that way you can get more out of each movement. Squats and deadlifts in the same session I never do as its too taxing

Love this simplistic way of training! What are your thoughts on combining some of these movements into one session to have a full body approach? Not necessarily every time but maybe during weeks when the schedule is tight and days are limited.

I will post my bench press only comp prep program. I think it will have what you are seeking

You will be surprised mate, if you really put the work in and train for size then it will be much faster. I have trained mainly for strength so the mass was slow to put on

Hey Laird, great work man! I have started this program, was a bit confused with intensity part. What should be the intensity for the working sets and how much weight can I add per week to each compund movement..?
@LairdRoss
@LairdRoss 2 года назад
At the start make it an 8 out of 10, and then just slowly add weight each week.

Do you think that this split is evenly good for hypertrophy/bodybuilding side?
@LairdRoss
@LairdRoss 3 года назад
Yes definitely. The main difference between powerlifting and bodybuilding lies in the rep ranges. Powerlifting is far lower reps - bodybuilding is higher. I bodybuild my back and delts + biceps. Everything else is built for strength. Just stick in the 10 - 12 rep range with break times in the 2 - 3 minute range

I know this is from a while ago but how do you recommend warm ups to be done?
@LairdRoss
@LairdRoss 2 года назад
It completely depends on the individual mate. For some they need a short walk, others its a set or 2 of push ups. I stick to the movement that I am doing and start light
@thomaslapasset9802
@thomaslapasset9802 Год назад
Thanks a lot man i really wanted a big compounds based program and I will give it a try, but do you think this is better for general hypertrophy than, for example, a push pull leg program where muscles are trained twice a week ? Big thanks and keep doing what you do
@LairdRoss
@LairdRoss Год назад
It really comes down to the individual mate, give it a try and see how you respond
