Since we travel around so much, we barely get to fly at the same spot ever again. For this reason, I always fly the mavic first, get an idea of the location, range, distances and other points of interest in the topography of the landscape, as well as, take my safety shots and a panorama or two. I then fly the FPV quads much more confidently. First exploratory/test pack and then go for the shots. 20-25 minute stop, then onwards in the journey.

@@TallyTalwarOfficial I only fly FPV. I had some really cheap GPS drones but sold/gave them away immediately. As I don’t make professional movies never thought of getting a Mavic like drone. But dude, you might have given me an excuse to get one. I always try to go to different locations and an exploratory flight with a mavic would be a huge help. Knowing your lines before take off would make such a difference. I always do an easy cruise first, to get to know the area but with some bad luck you might crash on the second pack. So you are stuck with a crappy, mellow first flight. With the mavic you could make your fist pack count and send the FPV quad with confidence! 👊🏻

I was observing the dji scene for some time now, but it was just not tempting to give away so much money, just to get some nice shots. Half a year ago I saw the DJI Phantom and was blown away. That's what I want, then Mr. Steal, Rotor riot an finally Joshua Bardwell pulled me into the rabbit hole. Like you say, its very addictive. So where I am right now. Money wise I think I spend at least the double amount what I would spend for a Maveric and more is to come, as there are so many challenges in this hobby. Keep on doing, thanks for the quality content.

So basically if you're a crazy flier get the FPV, if you're scared to go through a guy's legs when flying, get a Mavic. Seriously, each has its own use but both are equally great.

Yup, you need a lot of consistent practice to get good at FPV. But to get different shots - yes you basically need both and they are both great :)

I hope not.. because if the general public starts flying FPV.. things are gonna get crazy... Most don't know that the best wat to get into FPV is to start practicing in a simulator.

I've got both, and you're dead correct that they are simply different tools. I come from a photography background, and while I LOVE my FPV quads, you'd have to pull my Mavic 2 Pro from my cold, dead fingers. For stills and leading shots that thing is an absolute high quality beast! Having a variety of tools is important though. But yes, the FPV quads are a MUCH bigger investment of time.

Only do FPV so far but interested in getting those beautiful „B roll“ shots with a Mavic. Those tips on flying low, close to obstacles and finding lines are so important. I tend to want to look at the view with DJI FPV but as you said, it gets boring to watch! Also paning around aimlessly really messes up your RS GO footage 😉 Thank you!

Actually, in my opinion one of the coolest things about fpv is that the horizon isn't always leveled, especially when cruising near the surface. I think fpv is better for me because the area I live in is extremely boring looking on a drone so maybe fpv could make it interesting..

I also fly heavylifter drones like octacopters with a couple of fpv camera on it. never tried an RC car in fpv..I love cinematic flights but even fpv underwater could be interesting 🎮🥽 😜

I have both but am new to FPV i have the DJI controller but i see everyone is switching to Tango or cross fire is there a big difference ?please advice or make an episode on that :)

Depends on how fast my subject is moving. Slow flying: 10-15 Medium: around 25-30 Fast: 45+ - Freestyle.. Around 20-25

In my opinion most of the time if you shoot a lot of landscapes then an FPV drone would be better but if your shooting a subject a mavic would be better

Also with an FPV drone you can get some amazing unique shots of your subject :)
