The locations... so beautiful. And great choice with the red jacket in that setting.

Sliders are great for interviews on the B camera. Interviews can visually be boring/stagnant. By putting a slider and a constant recycle motion back and forth gives movement and separation between the subject and background.

Brilliant slider tutorial - thank you. In addition to the benefits over a gimbal - I find that with a slider, using longer focal-length lenses is much more possible.

So much content these days is super jumpy and pretentious. I much prefer this mellow vibe.

This is a great tutorial, but it is worth mentioning if you shoot a product video, and you are really close to your subject/product it those wonders, also shooting objects with great cinematic effects can be in any scene if you start or finish on that specific object, because that object is so close to you, it does what a dolly would do in a large scene … I find that using a gimbal in these cases is never as good, it can be because I do not have many years of experience, but I find that if you do the slider is always on top for that cinematic professional look. Now to take things to the next level, you can put a gimbal on a slider if it has tracking and moves by itself you can start from the back of the slider coming to the side of it, going in parallel with the subject for the length of the slider and keep on tracking in front of the slider, and it gives you 180 degrees coverage at a cinematic level. Many possibilities, slider are great the only bad thing about them is their size. Weight is not a problem since we have the carbon ones. Just putting my 2 cents in, I am curious if anyone feels the same way in 2023, because internal stabilization and gimbals are even better now compared to when this tutorial was done.

Hey Celo, a little bit of a mixture. The majority was shot on the Voigtlander 17mm and BMPCC4k. The shots with the ruined house and the shots with the gate were captured with the Nikkor 24mm & GH4, and the b-roll shots of myself walking with the slider on my back were with the 16-35mm Sony G master and Sony A7RIV.

Hey, it's called a Glide Track, however, the company is no longer in business. This was purchased back in 2012. I'm sure you could find some cheap second-hand models on eBay though.
