After several days and many different rescue attempts, the Race Quad Drone (+ Gopro) was still stuck in a 100 ft tall tree. It turned out that a tree climbing arborist was the one who could get it done!

Efter flere dage og mange forskellige redningsforsøg sad Race Quad Dronen (+ Gopro) stadig fast i det 30 meter høje træ. Det viste sig at en arborist kunne løse problemet ved træklatring.

I had save a drone one time. The guy had it follow me mode and it didn't anticipate it to fly right into a tree. He thought it was higher the tree tops. So I climb up around 75 ft. And he kept saying just knock it out I have insurance on it. Well I didn't knock it out. I clip it on suspenders and came down lol. Nice video buddy.

Thanks K&S! This small Race Quad is made of carbon fiber and can fly into a wall without damaging the frame. It had broken a plastic propeller but it could also have happened when it flew into the tree. I also think that the way you did it is the solution if the drone is bigger and more vulnerable. Stay safe

I have my drone stuck in a tree 100+ feet.. I believe it’s a pine tree so there are a lot of branches making it difficult to climb.. where can I get this equipment to attempt getting it out? Thank you!!

Hey Corrina! I would suggest that you find one that is used to climb trees. Without training it can be dangerous and as you can see on sherrilltree.com ...the equipment is quite expensive. Stay safe

I have tried cats! They jump down and run away when you get up in the tree. But in return you can eat the tuna in the transportation box yourself ;0) Thanks for watching Greg!

Now that technology has advanced a bit, I think it’s time to rehash our safety up in the tree. If the drone that was recording you lost control somehow, it may have cut your line. Did you guys have any safety conversations about it?

Thanks for the concern Jacob. The drone can not harm my safety (it weighs only a few hundred grams) and at the same time am also very comfortable with the drone pilot ... he is a pilot at the research center for drones and part of the Danish national team for drone racing.

@@SorenSatellit i did a bit of research for you, just as a concerned climber myself. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-v4BbV8HJ_ng.html Here is a guy testing the drone blade against a climbing rope. I’m very surprised to see it doesn’t do much damage!

method 1. Use another drone to knock it out of the tree. method 2. use a Chainsaw. method 3 Well chainsaw worked

Thanks wardope! Jep, cut and run had been easy ;0) I doubt that the local government had the same opinion. The year before, they had just cleared a forest here, and the remaining trees were deliberately remaining trees.
