With The Final Shape being one month away, Bungie has decided to make all 4 season's this year FREE, along with Shadowkeep, Beyond Light and The Witch Queen temporarily free. Additionally, every day up until the release of the Final Shape, you can get 1 free red border weapon by completing its associated seasonal activity. Today we have a quick start guide on how to get started with each season, and which activities we recommend doing daily.

I'm in a similar boat -- I took a break shortly after LF's release, as I was unhappy with the direction the company/game was going, and the narrative in the expansion was pretty lackluster -- which is frustrating, as I'm almost exclusively a solo player.

I've played intermittently, had a few unlocked, in the tome since Into the Light was added I've only unlocked the LFR from the current season (aggressive Void LFR with Reconstruction & Precision Instrument? fuck yes) and I knew was to target - I STILL appreciate this, especially with it being from what you currently don't have unlocked.

PSA:One thing Cross fails to mention is the class swords. They are not guaranteed drops as red borders from activities, nor are the swords guaranteed red border when getting your shotguns from the War Table

Can confirm, I’m only missing 2 patterns for Goldtusk, and I have all other patterns. I’ve played a few battlegrounds, and I haven’t received any red borders :\ lots of engrams, but they always give the shotty or non-borders lol

Dont pat him on the back too early. Not all that you know. He left out alot of very key loot. Theres more rewards like defiance engrams give you class specific swords and shotgun. Also deep dive has alot of "different gambit" weapons that he used to have which have been sent to deep dive rewards.

For anyone not getting the Awaken Queensguard pop up, I had the same issue. Headed to the farm on the EDZ and mara sov et Al were there. Go and interact with them and it should unlock the quest

@@masonstickney5648 figured out my issue and I feel incredibly slow lmao. But to clarify a bit for you tho, you don’t necessarily have to do them all. Each set of activities are obviously tied to a specific season which has a set of weapons tied to those. I thought you could just pick 1 of the listed activities and do it each day for a red border and that’s not the case. Have to know which weapons you’re missing patterns for and make sure you’re doing the correct corresponding activity. For example it turns out I’m missing only a couple patterns for season of the witch so I just have to do a savathuns spire run each day until I’m done. Did a quick run and got 2 red borders. Just make sure you know what you’re missing if anything that is so you don’t waste time as well.

All of the seasonal stories should be completed to the point you unlock focusing for the specific weapons. Speeds up the process by alot! Plus you can grind various bounties in the in between while preppign for the dlc.

@Aztecross one thing I noticed not covered are the Undying weapons. I can't confirm 100% but doing the "Starcrossed" Exotic mission gives a red border of one of these each day. I didn't get a red border from it yesterday though.

Honestly, there's way so much stuff to do now in Destiny 2 especially if you haven't played since Forsaken. I had to clear beyond the light for Stasis for each of my characters, clear all Ikora quest and then work on farming stuff. Doesn't help that my real life be having me dragged everywhere so i got even less time to play so this really helped.

@Aztecross Great guide for both new and returning players. One really useful thing I think you could add or mention is for them to grab the 1810 gear from the Gift of the Thunder Gods box in the Hall of Champions. They should do this right after having access to destinations and before doing any gear farm or even pulling from the season pass, that way they're already at the pinnacle cap and not have to think about any level grind outside of the artifact level. Keep it up man!

I think the shotgun from the season of the deep is good. If you craft it with overflow and enlitened action(idk if those are the names, on new account) it will make your gun fast to shoot 14 rounds after a kill. I used to use it a LOT on bosses. Need 1 more red border for it again.

I didn’t play for all of lightfall but came back a couple weeks ago, I bought the lightfall dlc and started playing. When I tried to use the previous season pass thing it wasn’t letting me claim all the rank one unlocks, I could claim my season of risen warlock armor but nothing inbetween risen and the current season. Don’t know if that’s working as bungie intended but that’s my experience with the season pass extension

The red border drop is at lease one per activity. I got 3 weapons unlocked in 2-3h gameplay.

Problem is most of these weapons are just...not great. When was Rapacious ever a competitor to Immortal? I've tried so many rolls on that thing and it's straight up trash. You can also still go for the craftable stuff from the war table as well, Imperial Decree and the class swords will randomly drop red borders from those engram turn ins.

For who it may concern If you don’t have certain expansions, this month is free dlc content When witch queen came out with free weekend I got striga smg and was able to keep it but unable to recraft or modify it until I bought WC FOR THOSE WITHOUT MAJOR DLC’s You can keep weapons after the free month All guardians could and should go and grab those craftable exotics and legendarys You’ve got nothing to lose but time

Pro tip: you if have spare seasonal engrams, you can spend them at seasonal vendors for a chance to get red boarder weapons. Thats how i got almost all of my patterns for the seasonal weapons

If you have a friend that did season of the witch, join them and the portal is open to the vendor instead of having to do the opening missions to unlock the portal then itll be unlocked for them.

Just as a heads up Riven's Lair doesnt drop red borders for me. Not sure if it's not working properly or if it just doesn't drop from there. But it might just be The Coil that drops them
