I love that you not only recommend affordable & efficient products but you educate & explain in a way that's easy to understand!!!! I really appreciate your videos, thank you 🌟
Absolutely love your videos! It’s fantastic that you’re not including sponsored posts as well (I don’t listen to these). Your videos are so clear and informative - thank you!
I’m so glad I found your channel. Thank you for exposing everything. So many products out there never know what to get or what’s actually needed for skin.
Your videos are always so good. You really break things down giving so much knowledge and really explain things so well. And my favorite thing is you actually give product recommendations with several options of each. Love your videos I watch them all
Your videos are just the absolute best. So filled with information, so educational, helps me understand ingredients and shop for products when it can be overwhelming. Thank you! ❤
Alpha Skincare has some some great leave-on topical glycolic acid products. Also, Drmtlgy has a great alternative to the Skinfix exfoliating pads at nearly half the price. The product is called Tingl and contains 2% salicylic acid, 5% glycolic acid, and 5% lactic acid. P.S. Do you have any experience with Glytone’s Exfoliating Serums. They come in 3 strengths.
I tried the Cerave SA cleanser, but the old tried and true, Neutrogena 2% SA Acne wash was gentler on my skin. The Cerave left my skin feeling tight while the Neutrogena left my face soft and not stripped. Either way, unless you leave a wash on your skin for a minute or two the salicylic acid won't get a chance to work much. For a leave-on SA I use the newly reformulated 2% SA serum from The Ordinary. (Not the anhydrous formula. ) It's cheaper and dries less "slippy" than Paula's Choice. I use that on my T-zone and The Ordinary 7% Glycolic Acid Toner on the rest of my face.
Ty Dr Locke for your product details, what the products do, and how to use them. I am 59+ and probably need to start a routine 🤔😉. Everyone thinks I am 10-15 years younger, and even young people are shocked, lol ❤
I absolutely love your videos - very informative, and I love the way you present the information. It's so well organized, and contains different options for each step. Awesome!
I love your videos and information have watched several of them and purchased many of your recommendations, Loving all of them.thank you for your hard work behind these product. So exciting
Great video! My questions: do you think other serums with peptides, Argireline, matrixel, etc. are of any benefit for antiaging? What about growth factors? Do you think home skin devices like microcurrent are beneficial? What about med spa services like microneedling? Thanks!
Yesssss, so glad to see cerave sa cleanser. Exactly what I use as I won't incorporate additional step into my routine. Question - would you use smoothing moisturizer eg cerave sa smoothing cream as part of exfoliating routine? Is it a good idea?
Thank you so much for your help. I live in cherry hill Nj and the dermatologist her are interested in botox. My gp has help me more with skin care and prescribed retinol. I am a pharmacist and everything you say makes perfect sense. Thank you for all your help if you know a good dermatologist in my area please recommend them to me
I love your videos! They are super informative and very thorough. I've been using the CeraVe SA cleanser along with a vitamin c serum during the day and a retinol at night upon your recommendation and my skin has been looking super amazing! No breakouts and my skin feels super smooth and hydrated. Thank you so much!😊
@@MACK472 I'm so sorry to respond so late. I'm just now seeing this. I've been using the CeraVe vitamin C serum. It comes in a tube. The retinol cream that I use at night is the Olay 24 retinol night cream. It's a purple jar.
@@nikitaroy1789 I would say within the first week I noticed my skin looked brighter from the vitamin c serum. At night I use the Olay 24 retinol night cream in a purple jar. It's super luxurious so a separate moisturizer isn't necessary. I would say by week 3 I noticed results. Especially with blemishes. The only time I break out is if I go a few days without washing off my makeup before bed. But I've been doing better with that.
I just recently started watching your videos. How had I missed you all this time???? I love them. Several of your videos cover my needs but I have one question. I am in my late 60's and still suffer from acne. What drugstore facial cleanser would be good for my troubled, mature skin?
Have you used the Naked & Thriving Renew Resurfacing Night Serum? I’ve purchased it but now after watching your video I’m confused as to whether it has all the ingredients you list. It doesn’t show any percentages either. It feels nice, but for the price I’d rather use something else that you have mentioned if I’m paying for a product that doesn’t have everything you’ve mentioned in your faves here. Thanks so much for all of your videos, I’ve learnt so much! I was only using natural products thinking they were the best for my skin. After looking at the ingredients on them I can see I’m basically paying big $$$ for ingredients that smell nice, but are not effective at anti-aging.
I am soooooooo happy I found you ! transparency and knowledge are the best combo I have a consistent routine including SPFbut finally I understand what I have to look and I use a couple of your tips with total success And I have a suggestion Could you share your thoughts about Argireline The Ordinary ?
Can you please do a video about supplements that can help with acne and glowing skin even fungal acne like pantothenic acid, vitamin a,c,d,e and even zinc
High quality fruits and veggies typically have high concentrations of those micronutrients and have higher bioavailability than supplements - also with a more enticing price tag. 😉 some organics and home grown are more nutrient dense than plain supermarket varieties.
@@anamihajlovic6714 im already using it. I also use sulfur soap. I started to see improvements when i find out that fungal acne can be cause by a lot of things. I also stop my skincare because before because it has ingrediants that triggers fungal acne. After that i build again a new skincare products that is fungal acne safe but sad to say, it still itching ang keeps growing on my face and i dont know why. So i stop using all of it and i just wash my face with sulfur soap and nizoral shampoo and boom it all went away. It dries up. I also take Vitamin C and B5 and i guess it also help me a lot with my problem. Im planning to add zinc in my supplements intake btw.
Seek for products that provides niacinamide + zinc /standalone niacinamide :) As for neck lines remedy, look out for hyaluronic acid or beta glucon ingredient in a serum or you can try out TO Buffet serums that contains these peptides and argierine and matrixyl that’s beneficial for wrinkles and lines. Pairing it with Retinol for optical results but proceed with cautions :)
I have bad melasma on my face, for as long as I can remember, please advise as to how I can correct this problem. I've tried many products to no avail. PLEASE HELP, THANK YOU
Appreciate the way you clearly laid out each routine option on the screen. Could sensitive skin types substitute a PHA for the BHA? I have the Ordinary PHA, Paula’s Choice BHA and CeraVe SA cleanser but haven’t tried any yet because I’m afraid of more dryness and irritation. Actively peeling on my chin due to adapalene 3x a week and don’t know where to begin, or if I should just leave it alone. 🤔
Try to limit actives if using retinol in your routine. Simple is key to avoid irritation when comes to retinol. Look out for products that provides hydration and skin barrier restoration functions like centella asiasta aka cica to mitigate the retinol side effects :) You might wanna switch for gentler cleanser instead of SA :) use SA alternate day but not the in the same routine with retinol :)
I was going to get the L'Oreal 3.5% Glycolic Cleanser to add glycolic acid to my routine, but then I read the ingredients and found that it has menthol in it. I have an allergy to mint/menthol. Is there another budget (~$10) glycolic acid cleanser that you would recommend for someone starting out and who doesn't want to jump in with a 10% serum?
Maren - Thank you for this video! I am 63 years old and 5 days ago I got a fraxel treatment. As soon as I am able, which cleanser and exfoliant would you recommend that I perhaps start with? Thanks
I was surprised not to see The Peeling Solution in here. I wonder if you think it’s a good product for exfoliating. I use this once per week on my night off of differin.
Doctor Please I have melsma on my face would please advice treatment Am and pm routine I am very poor knowledge in skin care please doctor I always watch your video
How do you keep your skin from exfoliating during the day, while your makeup is on? I used to use foundations that sometimes caused this. Wondering how long a chemical exfoliant like the SA cleanser keeps working after it's been used and washed off.
Unless you’re using chemical exfoliation acid, it may work longer than physical exfoliators like the one when you shower. I don’t think the cleanser will provide prolonged effect of exfoliating the skin throughput the day :)
I bought the L'Oreal 3.5% Glycolic Cleanser and started using morning and evening followed by vitamin C in the morning and my retinol in the pm. My face was very tingly and after a few days the skin near my mouth started to get extremely dry and flaky. Is this normal? should I use this face cleanser only once a day, or a couple of times a week? I stopped using it as my skin and face didn't feel good. Should I have started out more slowly - I didn't think I had sensitive skin? thanks
Thank you so much for the guidance. I have little dark spots due to hyperpigmentation. I have been using tranexamic topical acid with vitamin C serum and moisturizer and sunscreen. I want to include L'Oreal Revatalift as a leave on exfoliator. Can you suggest a skin care routine for morning and at night. Thank you
What to do if pores are taking over your whole face? I noticed using store bought daily retinol, moisturizer and vitamin c that my skin is looking worse! Why is that?!
@@theodoragreveniotis9495 thanks I'll have to look into it. I almost feel like I need to go see a dermatologist asap. I'm 34 and struggle is real with skincare and finding the right products.
@@ltrujillo5476 i have oily skin with large pores, my skin loves niacinamide , and its cheap, i used to use product for oily skin and i got dry with pimples, then when i started with cerave and ordinarys rosehipoil my skin cleared, i used to avoid thick creams and oils cuz i had oily skin with impuritys, but turns out i was drying out my skin , try also aloe Vera cream, i have sensetive skin type, If u havent tryid i recomend , and cerave is not to expensive either and it lasts long, i also use cerave cleanser 🌸
Hi. Looking for your suggestions for mature combination skin (50+) prone to adult acne. Wrinkles, dull skin hyperpigmentation and acne prone especially is ointments like vaseline is used. Many thanks
I shave my face every night. I know. 🙄 Wish I had never started. But I have heard it said that shaving exfoliates. So if I want to apply A serum or toner after I shave, is that too much exfoliation?
Ok so I just went up in my tretinoin so I'm wondering if it's just that but i also just started drinking dandelion tea and I don't know if because that's a diaretic if it dehydrates you. Because I heard it's suppose be a diaretic WHILE replenishing you but I don't see it in my skin. Again idk if it's the retin a either. I figured my skin would be use to retin a but I don't burn like I use to I just feel like I have the uglies again without the acne. I'm thinking about getting powdered camu camu or straight vitamin c so I get it internally and powdered vitamin e. I hear that the topical stuff is worthless. The other day I saw an older lady who looked great and she said it's her diet and vitamin e is all she takes. I'm sure she's doing more than that but still lol. I was taking ibutamoren which creates what RLY fights aging which is growth hormone. And it took away stubborn what looked like fungal acne or i was thinking hormonal acne because it was around my chin. And since ibutamoren works with hormones i think i was right because its gone now. But it's not the healthiest option but my skin looked better then when I wad in my teens let me tell u. I'll spend 100 bucks and take 1 a day instead of three a day to make them last 3 months. But I don't want to constantly take that because it makes u look great but it's not good for you to take all the time. So while im not on it I feel like I look so dull and old. But again I also went up on my retin a. I use apricot oil on my face because I heard that's what they use in the east and they eat them too (so now I got apricot seed capsules) and they look great and live long. And I heard they help prevent cancer. But the oil isn't helping so I'm trying to use cream and the ponds cream I have now is to fragrant and that's the thing that will make me burn. I was thinking of getting vanicream but I really don't know what I should be using on my face now. And sunscreen seems to be making my skin even dryer. I use to have oily skin to a fault.
Hi there! I was wondering if I should avoid using an acid (not a cleansing acid, a layering acid) in the morning since I tend to have hyperpigmentation. I have started to use sunscreen regularly now. But if you know you’ll have sun exposure, should you avoid them in the morning? Also, is it bad to use multiple forms of acids? I’ve realized that I was using a cleanser with an acid (the cerave one) the an acid from the ordinary (lactic acid HA) then once a week or so the Salicylic acid mask, then twice a week the wishful yo glow scrub. I think this is a real problem… we don’t really know what all these acids do and unknowingly we are layering tons of products with them. I try to educate myself by watching videos like this. What do you think about this?
I would like to try the L'areal Glycolic Acid 10% serum but it starts with Alcohol Denature. Do you think that this ingredient is not too dry or bad for my mature skin? thank you for your reply.
If I'm completely allergic to any products that say "glycolic acid" in the ingredients. Would the salicylic acid be a possible alternative to glycolic acid for me.
