Sorry to remind the lawyer that even if the applicant has a home over the amount required (depending on the year you apply) still the visa is given at TOTAL discretion of the Consul on site. Be polite when going to your interview, being rude or worse a demanding entitled person will not get you far and you may end in legal Limbo.

Or! You can find an attorney that knows you can get temporary Residency without financial solvency and only a travel stamp from 2011-2022 & that 6/12 months chance by consulate. Sometimes they start from the month prior to appointment because they CAN.

I've listened to several videos regarding how to obtain residency and it's never asked or talked about the amount you need to qualify for a married couple, I did ask at a consultant and was given an amount for a married couple that was less the 10% more of the amount for a single person, why are the qualifications not discuss for a married couple. 5-17-23 245pm

Hey Rob! Great question. Regardless of whether you are married or not the money that you're going to have to spend is going to depend on the consulate. It's because of this fact that we can't tell you how much you'll have to pay whether single or married. The best thing to do would be to talk to the consulate that You plan on trying to obtain residency with or reach out to someone like, Mariana who can do the legwork for you and answer more specific questions depending on where you are in the world.

I recently retired from the U.S. military. My active duty and retired pay stubs, which are called Leave and Earnings statements have been delivered electronically for years, there is no paper document, unless I print it out at home. Also all of my investment accounts have electronic statements, and the only way to get a paper copy is to print them out at home. Also, I am 60 and fully retired receiving a government pension. Do I really have to wait until 65. In the U.S. you can start drawing Social Secority at 62. Any suggestions?

If I were you I would look into Panama's pensionado visa. Additionally, since you have passive income you could also use the naturalization process and NOT have to do any of the solvency requirements. HOWEVER, you would need to come to Mexico and "overstay" your tourist visa FMM (IF YOU HAVE BEEN TO MEXICO BETWEEN 2015 - 2022 I believe)
@CLTrattler704
@CLTrattler704 5 месяцев назад
It depends on what Mexican Consulate you go to. I believe McCallen, TX, New Orleans, Phoenix, and Vegas are some of the more lenient consulate offices in which you could get a permanent residency visa. Email those consulates your questions ahead of time to see what backup docs are needed before booking an appointment with one of them.

NO!!! The govt wants you to invest inside Mexico. Buying a home only qualifies you for temporary residency, not PR. Buy a home inside Mexico valued at 40,000 times the minimum wage which I believe would be 6,914,800 MXP (verify because this may be calculated using last year's minimum wage). Now use the USD exchange rate which is roughly $400K. However, I have heard that some consulates are requiring values between $425- $450k USD. Hope that helps. Good Luck!!

Hi, We went to Puerto Vallarta because I heard they were one of the locations known for being able to get cards same day (and I only planned to be there one week because I still work, my husband is retired). I used "GP Expat Services" her name is Gaby Pellicer and she was great! She works out of Guadalajara and Puerto Vallarta, the week we went she wasn't in PV so she set us up with Erma one of her facilitators and she was awesome as well!, she retired after 20+ years from that exact immigration office we were at plus Gaby used to work there too. We met Erma at 9am at office and we're there about 3 hours, but she said it was taking longer that day, I didn't care as long as we received our cards Lol! Gaby gathered all our info and had our file prepared ahead of time...immigration asked a few questions when it was our turn and they take your pic and you wait. We are not moving there, only went because office is known to be quicker. We are moving to Chicxulub by beach and 30 min from city of Merida in the Yucatan...very excited!🌺. Gaby's email is hola@gpexpatservices.com if you decide to use her. FEE was $5,100 pesos each at Immigration Office and her fee was $5,000 pesos each...so appx $1,200 USD for both of us....and very well worth it! Let me know how your journey goes!?!😊🇲🇽

Question: Marianna says the retirement age in US must be achieved, and it needs to be age 65 yrs old. I’m American and my legal retirement age is 50 years old (law enforcement) with a pension. So if I retire at 55 years old with a pension, which is 5 years over the retirement’s age, will this be honored or recognized by any consulate to grant a permanent residency? Crossing my fingers that I can bypass the temporary requirement.
@chasingtheAmericanDream
@chasingtheAmericanDream Год назад
That's a fantastic point and question! While the best thing you can do is reach out to her directly, I honestly think that if you can prove retirement/pension that you have a good chance depending on the consulate. The best thing you can do though is reach out to her and let her know your situation. Consulates work differently (unfortunately) and some might push you through while others might not. Keep in mind, regardless though you get get to perm with a little time so either way you'd be good.
@erniebaca993
@erniebaca993 Год назад
You will qualify as long as you meet the financial solvency requirements. You must take your pension letter from your agency showing your retired and the income from your bank statements must come from that source. I retired at 52 and I took my proof of pension from the government. Now do keep in mind that some consulates are super strict on the age requirement though most will accept a retirement lettter with proof of pension.

Now You see why the minimum wage impacts Mexicans and foreigners as well. I wrote this exact comment in that video that you guys spoke about the minimum wage. So no one wants the minimum wage to go up since it's hidden within government fines and requirements. I went thru this with you and it seemed that you didn't want to believe me. I remember that you said that you have retired friends in Mexico that told you so but they failed to understand how Mexico works if they have less than 10 years living in Mexico and they don't have a business in Mexico. The minimum wage is a complicated thing to understand all over Mexico as well as taxes so my advice is that you should do more research in any topic speaking with people that know stuff helps, like Mariana that are Mexican professionals.
@chasingtheAmericanDream
@chasingtheAmericanDream Год назад
Hello, thanks for the comment! With all due respect we honestly don't recall ever speaking to about this situation. I do remember someone (perhaps yourself) mentioning something about the minimum wage but I think we responded to that comment saying that it was too long for us to respond to. I hope that you don't feel that we "did not believe you" because that wouldn't be the case. We have Mexican friends here who have lived here for their entire lives. We have never, ever spoken to anyone here about the minimum wage who was not born in Mexico and lived here their entire life. When we spoke about the minimum wage in the other video we were given the information by Mexicans who have lived here for their entire lives. We never ever spoke to Americans, Canadians or anybody else about the minimum wage-- We only spoke to Mexicans who have lived here for their entire lives who are our friends and who would give accurate information. So just as I mentioned in the other comment, our information is as accurate as the Mexicans who we asked our questions to. We would never ask a foreigner anything about the minimum wage here in Mexico, only native Mexicans. So based on the fact that we are asking people who were born in Mexico, who work in Mexico and who have been here for their entire lives our information is very likely extremely accurate because of who it's coming from. There is no possible way that we could ever talk about the minimum wage in a quick, simple video because the wages here are on a sliding scale so any information that we give is very straightforward, to the point and a general assessment of the situation here in Mexico. Thanks again!
@fourthdeconstruction
@fourthdeconstruction Год назад
@@chasingtheAmericanDream Strange you can go back to your comments and check what you wrote. I remember well what you wrote. Hey if you don't want to admit that's fine. Regardless I told you that the info that you gave in that video didn't fully explain the issue of minimum wage. In order to understand you have to live in mexico for a long time and you have to be an owner of a business otherwise it doesn't matter if you live there your entire live and it's a simple as this that no one wants it to go up and many don't even consider it to be relevant. So simple I hope that you understand it now.
@chasingtheAmericanDream
@chasingtheAmericanDream Год назад
@@fourthdeconstruction I'm sorry but I honestly don't understand what you're trying to get at. I've already said that I understand that the minimum wage is a sliding scale, I've already mentioned that we've talked to people who have grew up here, work here (and own their own businesses) And in the videos that I've discussed I've said exactly what they have said. These people's information are accurate because they live here, they are not foreigners, they own businesses and so forth. So any information that we have given to the viewers we have got from people who are legitimate. I honestly don't understand what you're trying to say or why you think what you were trying to say is important. I'm not trying to be disrespectful, I'm just simply telling you that I don't understand what you're trying to say or explain. And as I mentioned already, we never tried to explain all the details about minimum wage in Mexico and the reason why is because it is too in-depth. We have general information and that is all because we don't want to go further than that. It's not necessary to go further, the information that we gave is accurate and we have no intention of moving further in regards to this topic. In either case I hope you enjoyed the video and I look forward to talking to you in other ones! And I just want to let you know that I have no issues admitting anything, I just simply don't understand what you're talking about, why it's important and I really don't care about the subject enough to look back at your comments and try to figure out what you're trying to say. There's no ego here, there's nothing that I need to admit or not admit, these are just the facts. Have a great day!

@athomas9661 8 месяцев назад
No, @@chasingtheAmericanDream that is not quite correct. I know the US system can be confusing. Retirement age is 62 yo. Citizens can't collect Medicare until age 65 yo. But they can collect at age 62. The staggering retirement ages relates to the amount of money a person can collect from SS. The longer a person waits to file for SS, the more money they will get. But that doesn't determine their status. And depending upon the company a person was employed and the number of years worked, some Americans can collect that money at age 50 or 55 and retire (not many of those left, but some still around). I'm lad you mentioned this because I know to ask about this when evaluating other countries. Thx for responding.
