If you ride mountain bikes for long enough, having a little crash or tumble is an inevitable part of life. Sometimes those accidents can knock your confidence, but you don't have to let it put you off hitting jumps or features again! While in Bentonville, AR, Anna got some great confidence-boosting tips from multiple World Champion ‪@annekebeerten‬ to help her get comfortable in the air again after a spill of her own.

I had a crash. OTB last month on the opening day of a new jump line (see recent yt short). After a few broken ribs healed up I was ready to get back out on some small jumps... and then yesterday I crashed my roadbike and went OTB and broke some teeth ...uh..among other injuries. But still excited to get back out there. HELMETS ARE AMAZING.

Anneke is a total legend and she knows exactly what it's like to come back from injury. Anna getting advice from her is absolutely perfect. Not to mention both women have great skills. During the lock downs I was watching Anneke doing her skills videos, I wonder if her Mum found out where all the toilet rolls disappeared to? (Anneke was using them for bunny hop practice). I reckon it would be awesome watching Anna learn to do whips with Anneke, she could then do some cool jumps with Blake and Neil and get a GMBN whip train over a jump or two. Awesome job Anna. Great tips Anneke.

Had a big one on landing hitting my head so hard I couldn't remember what happened. I only got my confidence back after I found a video some months later, that someone had taken of the crash. Knowing what happened restored my confidence. It was gusty winds and I got blown sideways, landing on the side slope of the sunken trail. The video filled in the gaps of information in my memory, enabling me to remove doubt, restore confidence and most importantly take notice of the wind in future.

Well done Anna. I did not crash so far, still I had fears of jumping. I was worried of crashing, so I braked alot before tables making it even worse. With each run on my hometrail (Solingen Klingentrail) I gained more confidence and at some point I cleared the tables instead of casing them. Then I went for Bikepark Winterberg and had the best time of my life.

This is probably one of the best "how to jump" videos i've seen (next to one of Ryan from "The Loam Ranger")... I guess sometimes it's better for such a video to have someone do it that isn't confident yet or struggled to learn it themselves. A good example for this in another sport I used to do was the guy that now does a channel called "RadRat" and made skateboard tutorials on youtube back in 2006 or so. He struggled with alot of the stuff aswell but figured it out and gave his findings to other people. That's why his ollie tutorial etc. just were the best all around for years - until he took them down...

Practice bailing so you know how to deal with it if needed. Just find a gentle grassy slope, roll down and slowly endo over the bars a few times. See if you can land on your feet. Also, looping out the rear wheel. Bit hard on the bike but you get the feel for when to hit eject and how to go about it.

This is the best advice, I think this video is more for females because boys grow up falling off trying stupid stuff so we learn how to fall. I live by the jackass rules: If you're gunna be dumb you've got to be tough, when you get knocked down you got to get back up.

I never really had a bad crash jumping, but I do quite often launch off sideways dead sailor and it feels horrible and makes me lose all confidence, to the point that I'm basically a beginner at jumping even though I've been riding for years. I totally just cannot jump, but when I session the foampit I can jump quite effortlessly and my technique is rather sound and I always land just fine on the foam. As soon as there's hard ground my mind falls apart.

I've not had a crash or injury but I'm not the most confident at jumping. If it's a gap jump then I'm out to be honest I'm too worried about casing it. Good tips in this video especially the slowed down body movement you showed, I'll have to get some free time to go to chicksands and practice. Keep up the great work 👍

Reminds me of my younger days downhill skiing. Going bigger and bigger on a jump until I could just about clear a row of people standing side by side. And then I landed too far forward and biffed it hard. The feeling of flying through the sky is not natural. It's not really what us humans are meant to do. It takes time getting used to that gravity-antigravity-gravity signal.

Her bars look way too wide...That hinders movement and gives less confidence, especially during jumps. It's cool that modern times bring new ideas such as 29" wheels, wide bars etc. but please, have some sense...a female ie a woman usually doesn't have wide shoulders, which makes it look and probably feel even more ridiculous.

Anna was probably on a rental/borrowed bike in Bentonville... but I agree, running stock (800mm) wide bars when you've a smaller frame/shoulder width is both restricting, and looks silly!
