Take out the insoles and replace them with more comfortable ones. When the insoles start to smell, soak them in peroxide and the smell will fade quite a bit, wash them afterwards or just fabreeze and let them dry. Silica gel packs (unsafe for kids and pets) or backing soda should absorb the smell in the shoe itself. Try putting the baking soda in a small sock, you can use a spoon to scoop it in then tie it in a knot. Finally, a stick of deodorant to apply to you feet or baby powder or foot powder will keep the feet drier, prevent them from smelling as bad. I use Gold Bond brand foot powder with menthol. Apply some to the foot and a little in the shoe. We lose heat from our feet, similar to the top of our heads and in the armpits, which is why these areas sweat more. When the moisture is trapped in the shoe, bacteria can grow and cause the odors (even when the shoe is not being worn). The foot has to stay dry, power up the foot, some powder in the sock and show as well. At the end of the day the powder will clump up and stick to your socks. Remove the excess powder from the sock before putting the washing machine.
Two years and one comment. Well now two. Definitely decent suggestions. Also it would be advised if you were going to the alcohol route to wipe it on your souls and take out the soul and wipe the bottom of the shoe another excellent way to kill the bacteria because ultimately that’s what’s creating the odor so I’m thinking potentially rubbing alcohol and then freezing would be the ultimate method and then drying in the sun. Thanks for the video
I tried the lavender oil and it doesn't work for me just makes the smell worst I have hyperhidrosis on my feet so I tried everything I am going to try the vinegar method see if that helps out because I go through shoes like nothing because of the smell and I tried everything from lysol spray in shoes to powder they sell and still nothing works
