I have lost 24” on my waistline on KETO - YES 2 FEET! I’ve also lost 143lbs now. I once weighed 321lbs - my stomach was over 60”! My stomach measurement is now 36”. I’ve been on Keto for 2 years now. I love it! I also do IF & OMAD. I have not fasted past 24 hours though, and I don’t perform particularly strenuous exercise - 10lb dumbbells once per week, and I take my dog for a walk every day - just 8 houses down & back. She’s old too - I’m 59. 5’11”, hypothyroid, Epstein-Barr, & have Hemochromatosis. I was diagnosed with a severe fatty liver 2 years ago. That is gone now. But I will be fighting Hemochromatosis the rest of my life. Keto saved my life.
That is awesome. But 59 is not old. I am 68. on keto, and with no health issues but past injuries caused osteoarthritis which greatly improved with losing my extra 30 pounds. You must feel so different. Really happy for you.
Abs are made in the kitchen not the gym..im not saying not to work out just that unless you go calorie deficient- stay away from bad carbs - I suggest low carbs and intermittent fasting- thiz is usually necessary to get the abs to show up- not the ab roller or situps from the gym
I had the rock-hard upper belly for years, yet no fat anywhere on my body. For years, I could not lose weight - until I took my eye off weight loss and focussed on healing a fatty liver. This seems to be working and 5 months later, I've lost 45 pounds.
@@xploit811 Hi, I focused on cruciferous vegetables and fatty meat. I was never a vegetable eater, but knew I could stomach sprouts and/or broccoli - with cheese melted over it. For meats, I focussed on steak and beef steak mince - but others were allowed. I then began reducing my carb intake and as the weight began to fall, I slipped accidentally into Keto. Having struggled with my weight for over twenty years, these key changes have so far helped me to lose more than 50 pounds - which I'd given up any hope of.
Couldn't find a better place to put this than here, so here it goes. I subscribed to the weigh loss thing a while back and for a time it worked, then it didn't. What I really wanted was to loose visceral fat and loose this Metabolic syndrome. As things went along my blood sugar was "in control" in that it stayed at or around 122, my blood pressure was 155-165/ 68 and I weighed 276 pounds. A few years ago I weighed 376 pounds so I was comfortable with my weight. I have always been dense as I weighed 220 in the 7th grade and was an athlete. So, back to the present. I was following a high fat/ low carb diet and was having difficulty with gas, belching, and other. I normally felt bloated and lacking any energy. On July 1st of this year, I decided that I might have a dairy problem so I stopped all the butter, cheese and cream. This forced me to be on a balanced diet about 40% carbs, 30 % Protein and 30% fat. On July 2 my blood sugar was 90, my blood pressure was 122/88 and I have lowered my diabetic drugs from 3/day to 2. To date, my 30 day ave. blood glucose is 93. My Blood pressure ave is 133/68 and I have lost down to 257 pounds. This month I am going to try to get lower in carbs and back to Intermittent fasting. My success has come form 3 elements. 1. The elimination of dairy. Evidently I had a slight allergy which was causing an immune response and systemic inflammation. 2. The addition of Curcumin, Magnesium and Berberine (2/day) which I surmise has assisted my cells to become far less insulin resistant. and 3. Consistently adding enough physical activity so that I will sweat profusely for 20 min. or more. I believe this causes the liver to give up much of the stored glucose. It is working very well and two days ago I even got a BS reading in the 70s, so I may be able to reduce meds even more. The best bonus is the addition of life energy. Just living doesn't seem to wear me out like it used to. I believe in what you are doing and educating. I am just not there yet. I think my hormones have been in disarray for over 30 years and now I see a path forward. Thanks!!!
Thank you for sharing your story! I have hypoglycemia which was out of control when I started Keto/LC lifestyle. I have very limited success other than blood sugar, which is awesome but I would really like to lose weight too. Trying no dairy for a time to see if there is definitely a difference!! Thanks!!
I’m so glad you mention this...I’ve had an almost exact same experience. Tried keto, IM, all of the low carb and felt 💯 shitty all the time. Started addressing inflammation due to food sensitivity...things fell into place.
@@tracyjudd3877 how is your journey going since you left your response about dealing with hypoglycemia? My husband has this as well. He dealt with it relatively fine until he was diagnosed with colorectal cancer at 45. He is now 48 and recovered but food habits have had to be amended due to resectioning of his colon and rectal bits. I really want to get him to start doing IF with me but he is understandably resistant to it bc the condition makes one feel so awful. I would love to hear if you have made any strides with your hypoglycemia and what has worked for you. Thank you!
Age 49, I'll be 50 in Dec so I decided it's now or never. I fast consistently 16 to 18 hours a day (pick a window to eat in and stick to it), also drink apple cider vinegar (2x a day once before bed and again when you get up, 1oz of acv, 1oz lemon juice in 1 cup water*with a straw), cut out white potatoes and all breads. I weighed 285 (6'1") July 31 and on Sept7 weighed 259. I weigh myself once a week, year end goal is 220 then go from there. I weighed 205 out of army in 92, after I reach goal of 220 I may try to get down to 195.
I’ve only been on keto for 3 days, along with intermittent fasting & I’ve lost 3 lbs & 1.5” in my waist. My blood sugar has been normal & no hunger after eating! It took me 2 months to loose 18 pounds by walking at least 30 minutes a day on a low carb diet. I think I found my happy place! 😁
I’ve been struggling with belly fat, even though I’ve been doing keto/IF for over3 years. I just downloaded your fasting guide, and already I can see ways that I am hurting my progress. Thanks so much!
So thankful I found this !! The information I couldn’t get from my doctor convinced I had a tumor as my belly is big and hard I’m in menapause and almost overnight gained 50 pounds Always had flat stomach lean and fit body active last lifestyle now suffering from severe fatigue and carb cravings but never until menapause-/thanks again for the knowledge and empowerment !!
I loved that piece about finishing eating earlier in the day, during the Fall that’s my favorite way to do IF and it really does help! Summertime, I skip breakfast but in the fall and winter it’s typically breakfast and lunch and done by 3 because of my “mommy” schedule. 145 lbs down and going for more!! Yay!
I watched a medical teaching video today, involving an autopsy on a man -- I don't know how I stumbled on it -- but I had to watch. What struck me though was the fact that cadaver was not particularly overweight and how much visceral fat there was around the abdominal organs. Yikes! I don't know what normal looks like but this was simply amazing.
Can you wonderful docs do a "what I eat in a day video?" Do you only eat lunch and dinner, or do you also eat breakfast some days, etc? Can we do IF and eat 3 meals a day?
Running is mentally painful for me, also I have hurt my knees and my ankles while jogging, walking is more forgiving no matter what footwear your wearing.
@@catalinacassineri6435 walking is also sustainable in the long run as its a Low Intensity Steady State cardio...its great when its combined with strength training and whatever form of HIIT you can personally do a once or twice a week. But walking is something easily and sustainably done every day.
I couldn’t fast until I did this as well. I’m a morning person so going without food after exercising made my weak, dizzy etc. So now my food shifts to active time instead of the time I’m relaxing. Now it’s completely doable for me.
I just discovered that I have no problem missing dinner , OMAD was hard when I tried to skip breakfast and lunch. Now I’m doing Lunch only and my morning blood sugar is so much better, I’m hoping to quit metformin soon.
Early Time Restricted Eating has been so amazing and much more doable for me. Last year I was ending my fasts at lunch time and I felt it was much much harder than to stop eating at 3 pm like I do now (sometimes 5 at the latest). My sleep and energy has improved so much with eTRF and its affects on Circadian Rhythm. I'm way more energized in the mornings to walk and excercise. And I love my late morning breakfast meals and the ability to enjoy it with coffee! ☕
@@stephanie_smith I find that if I’m still hungry in the morning drinking a cup of coffee with a tablespoon of mct oil beating into it really helps, also I break the fast with a cup of chicken broth which helps to stretch the fast until an early dinner. Or chicken broth with some 0 carb bonito flakes sprinkled into it that I get at Whole Foods.
My belly was getting really firm, my weight was going up, and I felt SOOO unhealthy! I had been on the low carb diet before, but had lapsed for a while. Then, when my wife was diagnosed as pre-diabetic, we went back on the low carb diet a couple of months ago. I have lost 16 lbs, and my belly has gone from being hard to being flabby! 😊 I never thought that I would be happy to have a flabby belly - onwards to my goal of having no fat belly at all! 👍
@@naimarestoringdivinity7938 Dieticians have machines to weight you and scan body fat, muscle mass, mineral and water levels. It involves standing on a machine for a few minutes.
Thanks so much for this video. The stuff about metabolic syndrome, insulin resistance and their connection is so important to understand, and really solidifies my positive opinion of keto.
I also started a keto diet 6 wks ago. i've lost 15 lbs already, but recently plateaued. i plan to keep it up went from 205 to 185 no problems, with the help of some intermittent fasting. The only issue i had was some constipation. but that has cleared up now. I am feeling better than I have in a long time. I've even had to stop my high blood pressure med because it was lowering my pressure to much. ps don't forget to consult your dr about any changes in your meds.
I am designing a fast schedule for the month of March which is my Rebirth Month! My Dr. said that my protein was too high so I am adjusting that now but will include that in my IM fasting next month. I have the love handles that will not go away but I do not detect any hardness. There is something going on in there. Reduce stress is a good one to add.
Thank you both so much for sharing your wealth of knowledge! Im 50 but entered menopause young at age 39 and hv been completely through it for a several years. I was diagnosed hypothyroid and then 10 years later told oh now your thyroid is fine and was pulled off of meds. I am way overweight but the abdominal fat seemed to just explode through all of this. I always had a flat stomach prior to this. I do keto and IF but can't seem to budge the scale. I will switch up my hours of IF and see if this helps. Thank you again for sharing this info!
What works best for me, mind you my metabolism is fat adapted (easier than intermittent fasting), is two meals a day when truly hungry as suggested by the International Center for Medical Nutritional Intervention consisting of 2:1 fat protein ratio from non dairy ruminant animal source (including liver and bone broth with ample bone marrow weekly). Gradually loosing fat weight without loosing muscle mass nor feeling "hangry" . Just another working alternative as long as not binging on proteins.
Love your video style. Very practical and easy to understand. Some you tubers have a “high energy” that can be stressful to watch others are Um.. uh... kinda slow.. um... to make the point. 😂 keep up the great work. BTW keto and IF has been very successful for me also. 3” of belly fat gone in 3.5 months. 😊👍🏻
@@mysteryandmeaning297 you should watch more of 2Fit Doc's and you see that the best part of the milk is the cream and the butter and not the low fat milk and I never would anything with sugar "keto"
@@mysteryandmeaning297 Rubbish. You don’t understand KETO. or Metabolic Syndrome. Checkout videos by Dr Nadir Ali, cardiologist. A very experienced specialist who himself does Keto W.O.L. It is worth learning a bit more you will find.
I've been eating Keto, intermittent fasting religiously for 3 years. 20 carbs or less a day. Neve cheated even once. Lost over 60 pounds. For the past several months, the weight is coming back and it's in my stomach. Just can't get rid of it.
@ Lina Adams thar is very disappointing. It also happened to me. Lost 45 lb. then 10 back. I went full Carnivore. Watch Dr Ken Berry. Stopped putting on. Loosing ver slow but I’m ok with that. Healing +++. Good luck
Hi, great video. I have been doing IF for a while. My spouse started not too long ago. He’s trying to do low-carb/keto. He has lost some weight. He is absolutely what you described: metabolic syndrome etc.. diabetic. He’s been pretty good with staying disciplined but boy does he need help. It was a great victory though when he finally came around and started doing keto with me. I worry about him though 😢
I'm so glad I found your channel! I've been binge-watching your videos and learning so much! Question.. could you make a video talking about Lectins? I recently saw a Dr. talking about how bad (harmful) they are for you. I'd like to hear your perspective. Thanks!
Love you guy's! Thanks for keeping me on track. Starting on 5 months low carb...amazing no cravings. No huge weight loss, but no sign of quitting. Thanks again!
Six months of near carnivore, one meal most days, no alcohol most of the time - and I’ve lost some weight but still more subcutaneous fat lost than visceral, I think. Only a little regular exercise, though. It doesn’t help that I’ve been a type 1 diabetic since 1970…
I listened twice. Was going to share with a friend. Becky, at the end you misspoke. You said hunger is so satisfying. Dont think that is what you meant to say.
Hey @ Lou Ferguson ...I think it has a lot to do with the Circadian Rhythm and Early Time Restricted Eating. I've been following this protocol on my eating schedule and its helped in numerous ways. I def sleep better which in turn aids in my digestion system being healthier!
for cancer patients itmay be a problem depends of the type of cancer stage what type a therapies is the person under..y wife had cancer seven times. she outlived ovarian cancer patients over 10 years. she lived 22 years with secondaries . in 1998 i started her with 5cm turmeric roots later added black pepper to it she was on it until 2015 when noticed the effects diminishing.
Good stuff! Been keto and IF for about 3 months and have lost about 40#, but my progress with my "hard belly" has stalled. Do you have any thoughts about adding dry fasting to my IF regimen to break the log jam? Been hearing a lot about it lately.
I have on a Keto Diet for a long time and lost 55 lbs. Been in maintenance mode for the last 18 months, now in a muscle building stage. How do you get rid of the loose skin that resulted from loosing all that fat?
That’s great. Similar to my success. I’ve been on Keto for 14 months maintenance for 8 months of those and lost 60 pounds. (I did not get on keto to lose weight but for the health benefits). What I have read is that you don’t completely lose the flab without surgery. However, I like the idea that some have positively looked at their flab, “ as a trophy”. And besides, you probably look good in your clothes. Stay on course.👍
There is a woman on you tube who lost 145lbs. doing OMAD for 14 months. She did a video where she showed her skin...it was not saggy at all. I think the autophagy is how many people will eventually loose more and more of the excess skin.
Thank you for the information.....I have recently been diagnosed as prediabetic. I am also on lifelong warfarin (DVT & PE). How do I tackle Weightloss with this combined problem?
How is the best way to get rid of belly adipose fat? It isn't possible to spot lose but my belly is the last place I am holding fat. I have reduced my daily carbs to under 10g and have lost 72 lbs
Thank you for this video seems intermittent fasting is the easiest way to start. Now learning about low carb and what to eat. I am learning so much. Thanks again!
Thank you. So, since my belly feels like a small misplaced waterbed, then I don't have to raise my cortisol levels by worrying? I am working on changing my eating and my life.
I have lost 42 lbs in 2 months on the low carb diet. (30g or less of carbs) My A1C went from 8.2 to 6.5. I have also been taken off of both glipizide tablets and only take metformin. This is truly a commitment in my life style and the foods I eat. Having said that, I have a epigastric hernia about 2 inches above my belly button. I have notice that the hernia is much harder to push back in now that I have lost this weight. Do you have the answer as to why? (I will have the hernia repaired after I lose another 40 or 50 pounds. I also still have dull pain from fatter liver. How long does it take for the liver to shed it's fat? Please advise.
My husband who is 63 has had a big hard belly for over 30 years. He doesn’t eat a lot, has low blood pressure, low cholesterol, and has been overweight for 30 years. He doesn’t exercise because he had a knee replacement two years ago and it swells up on him and before that it just hurt. I don’t eat dairy or gluten and he eats what I cook but he likes his red wine and occasional scotch. His sister who is obese is a diabetic and his dad was borderline. I go to a hormone doctor and I am on bio-identical hormones because of menopause. He started going. He had no testosterone but can not take it because of being diagnosed with polycythemia. It raises his hematocrits and hemoglobin. What’s a guy to do?
There's so much conflicting information and advice on this topic. The other day I saw a vid advertised with the title "low carb diet will not lose your weight" and also IF got slammed. So many "experts" out there in RU-vid land pulling us in different directions. And a majority of them are Chiropractic doctors. Do they need a monetized channel to supplement their practice? Same goes for the MDs.
I am diabetic (non insulin). Have tried keto, but my blood sugar drops dramaticly(sp?). I however am using a low(er) carb diet. Main problem - fruit. Apples, pears, strawberries, blueberries, nuts, etc. No citrus, no bananas, very very occasional grapes. I may (will) try the 10 hour food thing. Any other suggestions?
Could 1 of u please reach out to me I have a question I'm having a scare and being told it could be from my keto diet and if I have looked every where and can't find anything about my problem I don't know what to do
I can affirm what you say. Just over 5 months ago I was diagnosed with fatty liver. I went keto and cut our carbs/candy/caffeine/cakes and the weight fell off, and I felt satiated and lost several stone. Unfortunately a couple of months ago I fell off the wagon and went back to eating candy/caffeine/carbs during the eating window. And started gaining back the belly fat. So I’m gunna have to get back to my diet.
@@Suicidebummer88 What I meant was, caffeine in moderation. Coffee has a 6hr half-life. Drink it late in the day and it’ll deprive you from sleeping. Sleep deprivation is bad, it can cause weight gain and hasten diseases such as diabetes.
@@Suicidebummer88 Also if you’re like me, you take sugar and milk in your coffee. Coffee is now a treat for me, lattes/cappuccinos are gone. Instead I’ll have an americano/cream on the side, with a small tsp of stevia. The cream makes the coffee taste sweeter, so I don’t end up using as much stevia. Technically I shouldn’t be using sweetener and cream. But it’s my treat.
Love the cup messages... Hers, "Blessed & Grateful". His, "I Love People (Mostly)". 😆 Also, I don't think she meant to say, "hunger is so satisfying". Lol. Not sure exactly what she was trying to say, but since she was talking about low-carb or keto, combined with IF, she prolly meant fat is satisfying. :)
If I understand right, person can`t pull hard stomach in? I started measure my tightest pulled waist size for to see if visceral fat decline. I eat meat and vegetables and animal fat.
Regarding the 21 day keto challenge, are all recipes based on a 1200 calorie diet or is it tailored individually for the person? I don't think 1200 calories a day would be enough for everyone.
I do about 1200 a day with IF. I take magnesium, potassium with iodine, vitamin D3 with K2-7, omega 3's, CoQ10, and vitamin C throught the day. I am 68 and feel wonderful. My metabolic panel came back good, BP good, and my energy is good. I think if you get 8 hours of good sleep a night is the key to making it all work. I am 68 and was lucky to breeze through those first menopausal years at age 50.
Hi Doctors, I love your videos, being following you two and changing my diet three months ago i started Keto and was doing super good, list 9kg which is so satisfying because i am 59yrs perimenopausal and have hypothyroidism, but then I got my bloods done and my cholesterol is very high, any recommendations what food I should eat? I would love to keep doing keto because i am feeling pretty good but i don't want meds, I agree with my doc that I will look after my diet first and then we can see about any med. I would love your help. Thank you 😘😘
What do you consider high? My doctor thinks total chloresteral of 235 is high even hough my tricycerides, HDL, and LDL (154) are all in normal range. She's uggested statins but knows that I would never do it. I realize that she has no knowledge of nutrition and none about Keto and cholesterol. If you are keeping your carbs low with no processed vegetable oils or trans fats then I would just assume you are "normal".
