In my opinion, this is the hardest pokemon to hunt for. I feel that it is worse than manaphy due one factor: With manaphy, you can get multiple eggs per save file before restarting the game while jirachi you can only get the one per save file, This makes jirachi the longest hunt out there. When I was young I had Pokémon Colosseum but not the bonus disc. I heard about the pre-order disc online, the game just came out a few weeks ago. My dad went up to the GameStop and asked the guy at the counter if they had any preorder discs left, and we got it for free :D

Jolly Nature is a great nature on Jirachi. You can run a Flinch set with Zen Headbutt and Iron Head with the Choice Scarf to troll your foes.

All you need is an R4 for DS to dump and load your GBA save files. The rest is software and some free time to kill 😉

Do you know the Jirachi encounters / hour on that hunt? Is 6 Jirachi resets/hour realistic?

Haven't tried this hunt yet myself but considering on my video it takes me about 6 minutes of game time to get to the point where you can get the jirachi, plus the couple of minutes it takes with the bonus disc. You could probably hone your skills with this and get around 6 an hour or maybe even more depending on how lucky you get with May and random encounters

interesting to see this now, i truly thought it was impossible without gameshark cheats to even get a normal one. though me doing a run on an emulator i ended up forcing a shiny one to spawn early (you cant find her in game later anyway), only im playing emerald instead of ruby/ sapphire. and this method sounds a lot more cumbersome than shiny hunting common pokemon can be in newer games lol... hope you got her shiny though

Where I’m from (UK) we have to use the Pokémon channel instead and I’m pretty sure we have to watch everything rip at least we don’t need a special disk or anything which makes it a bit easier to get but we need the version of the game made for the UK I forgot what it’s called but anyway it’s harder to find that version than you think Thank god I have a Wii and don’t need to buy a game cube ineedtobuyevrythingelsethoughrip

I'm from the UK as well but there is an alternate way to get this Bonus disc to work is by buying a Gamecube freeloader disc which can bypass the region lock on the console without actually effecting it meaning games from either Japan or the US can be playable even on a UK Gamecube this also works with the Celebi bonus disc but you will need a Japan Colosseum savefile as that needs all Shadow Pokemon caught and purified best keep your foreign games on separate memory cards just to be safe

Great vid. Finally got an sp but I need to buy a charger and another link cable (thought I had one but I guess I lost it) then I will hunt it! I haven't seen anyone else on RU-vid get a shiny this way. Only pomeg glitch. Quick question, does connecting to bonus disc fix the the dead battery problem?

No it doesn't. But the dead battery should not affect the shiny chance of Jirachi because the randomness of this shiny is totally different from other shinies

I also have the Jirachi bonus disc but cause I live in the UK I had to find some alternate methods to get the disc to work via freeloader which makes the Gamecube play any game no matter the Region difference, this also works with the Celebi bonus disc which requires a JP Colosseum savefile that has all Shadow Pokemon caught and purified and a Japanese gen 3 cartridge with National Dex

@@ThedomiNATION well properly not as it requires the National Dex as well as a Japanese copy of a third gen game and I no longer have my old JP Colosseum savefile that I'm in the middle of redoing. but maybe who knows

much like the Jirachi you can only get 1 Celebi per savefile which means you need to complete the whole third gen game till you can unlock the national dex. so yeah the main requirements are a Freeloader to run the JP Colosseum play through that and get all shadow pokemon purified cause the Celebi bonus disc will try to read your memory card for this requirement so it is necessary after that just get a third gen GBA game to do the transfer

@@ThedomiNATION yeah that would be more simpler then the Bonus disc I only have it cause I wanted to see if it was actually possible cause as I said I live in the UK so naturally the Japan games won't work on my console then I came across the freeloader works just like a charm and doesn't effect the console just make sure your save files are on separate memory cards to be on the safe side when it comes to games outside your region

You can only send the bonus disc jirachi to a Ruby or sapphire game, you can’t do it with emerald or fire red and leaf green. But as long as you start new save files, you can get an unlimited amount of jirachi from the bonus disc. (If you could only get one, it would be impossible to shiny hunt)

Nope. Shiny locks only started happening since pokemon black and white and was usually only limited to a select few legendaries. Only let's go pikachu and eevee, and sword and shield have shiny locked the staters

Yep that's what I did actually! You just have to restart your save file in order to get a new Jirachi (or use a separate game card)

If you got it from a trade, then it's hacked. No one in their right mind would hunt Jirachi then just give it away. Also I don't know if there's been any reports of someone getting one without some sort of rng manipulation

At least there's a glitch with one of the games (I think Pokémon Emererald) where you can dupe pokemon. That and Game Shark, lol. You can trade it off and get unlimited Jirachis but remember, it's one Jirachi per save file so you have to restart your game to get another one

Its one Jirachi per Save File, if you want, you can get a jirachi, trade in up through the pal park or to another version, reset your save file, get another jirachi, repeat forever.

His id will be the same. It'll be legal because this is one of the only official events for Jirachi. No need to change anything.

You could just use Pokemon Channel to transfer Jirachi over. Since PAL never got a Colosseum bonus disc we get one free to send to ruby or sapphire when we beat Pokemon Channel and can be repeated as long as you beat the game again.

technically the Jirachi Bonus disc was a pre order exclusive to the USA while Japan got a Celebi disc, but I am also from the UK and have found a way to work around it. what you need is a gamecube Freeloader this disc allows you to play any game no matter the region without effecting the console so if you had the disc you simply put the freeloader in first and put the Jirachi disc in when it tells you to and done but mind the Celebi one has a lot more requirements that I have also done

If you're wondering if you only get one Jirachi per bonus disc you don't. You get Jirachi through the bonus disc but you can get one per every save file of ruby and sapphire. So you can get unlimited of them with the one bonus disc

Yep just keep in mind in order to get unlimited you have to do what I am doing in the video and keep restarting your save file. Just trade them off to another game each time and you're in business

Its funny how consoles go down in price when they age but Pokémon games are treated as collectibles and are usually the most expensive games in that consoles history. I hate how that works. But I did find an r4 program for the mew and deoxys so I could get a "legitimate" shiny I can trade up without having to send my game to some sketchy ebay service and pay *them* money to most likely steal my game :/ Oh well, eventually (once I buy all the other necessities; adapter, Pokémon sapphire since I had emerald, and possibly a GameCube depending on if I have the right wii version) I will one day in the far future be able to buy that. When it will most likely be at an even more inflated price lol

You said in the video you could have either of them but you had both. Also i looked on amazon for a bonus disk but the cheapest i could find for just the disk is 40 dollars. Where can i find one thats cheaper.

No a ds lite does not have the same port that a gameboy does to hook into a GameCube or Wii. You also can't trade with a ds because it is lacking the same port

This is a tutorial video. As in I explain how to get a shiny Jirachi. If I had gotten one in this tutorial video that would've been insane. Videos in which I get shiny pokemon I'll name "Live Shiny Pokemon!" Not how to get shiny pokemon lol read the title
