Perfect, I've gone by the manufacturers recommendations, and above and below the pouring temps and with the climate I live in, it's a variable that can't be counted on, freezing cold to boiling hot!! I mix my fragrances at 68 degrees celcius (154F) and on cooling racks. 9 times out of 10, this will be a good setting temp, only occasionally do i have to break out the heat gun!! Happy candle making!! 🙂

I love the information, but my main issue is after the first burn. When I am using your 444 wax the tops are rough after. I’m in my testing phases for my business and I’m struggling with finding the perfect burn

Unfortunately, almost all soy waxes will have this reaction. The rough, uneven surface after burning is super common in natural waxes and may not even occur after every burn! It happens mostly due to the uneven cooling rate of the wax and does not affect the burn or quality of the candle. You could experiment adding some beeswax or coconut oil to the soy wax though as some makers have reported that this can help with surface issues before burning.

My candle still crack and frost even when I try to correct it with cooling rack and heating gun. I use soy wax from a candle making kit. It said to pour below 140 F. I don't know what I'm doing wrong. It cools quickly. I'm even using the tin foil method

Typically, I'd recommend pouring the wax at the temp recommended on the instructions but if it's not working out, you can definitely experiment a bit! For 464, for example, I usually pour around 150F with great results. Soy wax will likely frost over time but testing different pouring temps and maybe adjusting your environmental temp may help lessen the immediate effects. The cracking could be due to temp as well but I'd try a second pour as well to fill them in to see if they burn better with that.

I am facing the similar issue with coconut blend wax. The thing is when it cooled naturally it wasn’t that smooth but it looked okay. No bumps or cracks, it was just a tat uneven. The perfectionist in me couldn’t handle that, so i decided to use a heat gun. And guess what? Now those cracks won’t go away. So i am confused what is solution here
