If you want to feel a dramatic difference in shifting skip all the bushing stuff and the shift adapter and just get the full assembly short shifter v2 from hybrid racing reduces throw somewhere around 50% and its quality workmanship
These videos really help me out.. I just bought a black 08 Civic si coupe w/57k miles no scratches/bad dents.. Thank you for making these videos, It's really cool to watch someone mod out the exact car I have. Plus your laid-back personality is 💯.. I don't ever hear you dissing people, only uplifting. 👍💪
Glad i can help a homie out. Damn, you bought a baby lol. You got it, more vids to come soon. I'm a pretty laid back dude... Occasionally i talk crap to haters for fun, but 90% of the time, it's positive ;)
Just installed these. It was a pain and a half to install the bottom ones, I had to get a second person with small fingers. Definitely put the towel to cover the hole in the beginning. It is worth it
How the hell?? It’s literally one of the easiest thing to install on this car. If you struggle with that then you shouldn’t be touching any vehicle at all 😂😂😂
Your videos are great dude. You have given me so many damn ideas for my 8th gen Fa5. Im definitely going to have to check out those shift and base bushings. Come on spring time, i need to start modding my ride
My goal is to have the best and most useful content for the 8th gen community ;)... This is just the beginning, wait until the motor builds start ;).... Take your time with your ride, can't rush perfection
I installed these on my fa5 with the shifter cable bushings. It helped. I used to have random issues of putting it into 1st and 3rd gear, seemed like the problem disappeared after install. It's a cheap affordable mod. Next I will try changing the transmission springs so that it's more direct feeling in shifting/selecting gears. Another affordable mod. Keep the videos coming!
I've experienced using a hybrid racing short shifter on a civic 8th gen, for me if you care about speed when changing gears, the standard gear shifter is the best... I think the concept of acuity short shifter is the same as hybrid racing, only different in terms of appearance and style only. I don't think this short shifter is fast enough on the race track...what do you think?
Just asking for your input, btw love the videos. So do you think adding the base bushings and shifter bushings also will help eliminate that gear grind and lag you kinda feel between gears to go? Hope it makes sense.
saw this comment a little late, the gear grind unfortunately was a poor synchro design by honda from 2006-2008 it will help stiffen up the feel of the shifter. the lag could also be from rev-hang which can be removed using flashpro or ktuner, some people believe that the amsoil synchromesh trans fluid can help with the grind/popout
The Buddy Club short shifter is only $150 and way more worth it. Reduces throw by 37%. The base bushings do help a TAD with the stock shifter, but really the shifter cable bushings make the bigger difference. I have Hybrid Racing. I'd recommend Buddy Club Short Shifter with cable bushings. Great job though on the vids man.
I appreciate your vids man! Thanks for the instructions. I too have a 9th gen si, lookin' to mod it here soon and have been looking into superchargers and what not. Have you thought about supercharging it? I'm curious as to why you're wanting to swap the engine, the specs aren't that different on the tsx engine are they?
Thank you. I have man, I'd go kraftwerks all dayyyy. I want to keep her n/a for now & always wanted to do a frank swap. The k24a2 is just like the z3 in many ways, but with more tq. Tons of parts are interchangeable between the two, making it a sick hybrid. Oh, and i can buy a k24a2 for $700. That is my plan for the winter time ;)
Hey buddy I installed these today there awsome Quick question obviously the flat end of bushing goes downwards. Now the narrow end fits in the hole as it tightens ? Kinda confused cause I seen the 10th gen install and they didn’t seem to have to hold the base in place wile tightening. (The most frustrating part ) let me. Know.
Another $30 upgrade that is better than this are the acuity shifter springs. It honestly will make it feel like it should've been like that from factory. The best cheap upgrade I've done.
Inspired now. So, my 09 si is a daily driver and I want the whole set up of a short shifter and whatever goes along with them. What's the best for my car?
I've heard amazing things on hybrid racing short shifter. I'd pair that up with some acuity base bushings, acuity shift bushings, and maybe some cables
Bud, check out Ally Bank. Your earning 0.01% interest with Chime. That's possibly the worst I've seen for an online bank. Ally is all around one of the best. Great banking App and the interest rate is currently 1.85%.
